      1. I am saddened to hear about your company being driven out of business. I worked for a small engineering company back in the day of the NEP. I experienced the dissolution of the Alberta economy under Trudeau No.1. Ugly! – Absolutely bloody Ugly! But we were able to recover to a degree.
        It has taken a convergence of events to wreak the destruction we see today. I won’t bother to go thru them, but starting with the universal embracing of CO2 in the ’80s and 90s, as our enemy has not helped. How stupid!
        More recently, the dissolution and demise of right-of-center politics here in Alberta allowing Nutley’s band of idiots to take control, well, what can we expect! I am astonished that we have 12% unemployment here in Alberta! 12%! – Krist! And the best our federal government can do is offer cash to ‘clean-up’ abandoned oil wells! Under the very capable supervision of SNC Lavalin!
        Back to Kenney, he is under huge pressure to impose further restrictions on our provincial economy. Over a damn flu! The NDs and their media, the idiots that view the media and read the Urinal, the Herald, etc., and wait breathlessly for the profound words from our pandemic chairwoman giving her daily updates, well, we are truly screwed. I don’t know where we are headed but I do know that we are far from the ultimate goal identified by the international forces driving this current mess. And Kenney is one tiny voice trying to minimize the impact of the current stupidity.
        I hope a leader emerges in the near future that can lead Alberta out from under the boot-heel of the Canadian Intelligentsia in Ont., and Que!

I wonder how many councillors, MLAs, MPPs, MPs, Senators of any affiliation would be caught out. How often are career politicians people of strong moral and ethical character? How much of what they express about issues and policies are just an act to generate enough approval to gain the votes they need? It seems that our various houses of government are more like brothels than churches. Truly Houses of “ill-repute”. I’m not surprised by Kenney’s island vacationing Minister. Just disappointed. He’s still the least worst option for Alberta by many miles and hasn’t locked things down as nearly as crazy as other places.

    As has been said before …this has never been about covid, it is all about control.

    So I will announce here that we had a lovely family gathering of 17 on December 29 in our Northern Ontario home…including one child and grandchild that travelled from a so called high activity area. Plenty of hugs, and laughter and commotion. There was a certain level of anxiety from one of our kids who experienced a knock on the door and jail time in a fascist country a few years ago.
    Count your blessings. And seek peace with God.

The sad fact of it is, the Alberta government believed if lockdown measures weren’t put in place again, they’d be absolutely steamrollered in the next election over “mishandling the deadly pandemic.” There are that many people so absolutely terrified that they would gladly vote themselves into a prison state and bankruptcy, and there’s enough of them that they’d win, not us who want this nonsense ended. Those cheering for Kenney to lose forget the alternative, which won’t be my personal favourite of an Alberta independence party or another version of the Wild Rose, neither of which is ready for prime time, but will be Rachel Notley and an emboldened and ever more radicalized NDP. So, hopefully Kenney proves he’s at least not Redford or even worse, Jim Prentice (at least you knew who Redford was, Prentice was truly a snake), and fires Allard.

  24. Do Canadian elections use Dominion Voting machines ? Maybe that accounts for politicians ignoring citizens.

    1. We still use all paper ballots. This is for Federal and Provincial elections.
      The City of Calgary used the machines for the Olympic bid plebiscite. Each voter ran the completed ballot through the scanner themselves.
      They will likely use them for the upcoming municipal election. If the Purple Princess hangs on and beats Farkas for Mayor, we will know the machines are tampered.

      Not getting in the way of us charting our own course in life is fatal to their phony baloney jobs, perks, pensions and power.
      That can never be allowed to happen. We’re too stupid to understand a cloth covering over our face saves society from ruin.
      The urge to save society is all too often simply an excuse for the need to rule society as H.L. Mencken succinctly put it.
      After all, if not the case, most of the upper level bureaucracy would have to get real jobs, at less than 99% survival rate.

  39. Done with the UCP. Was just going to stay out of the next election. Now I will volunteer, donate, whatever to get rid of our UCP MLA. Don’t care who beats her.

      1. Not voting or donating or volunteering for any Tory until they start representing their voters. This idea that I need to help them cause the other parties are worse is why we are in this mess electing parties that never help us or our interests. No more.

        1. I stopped supporting the Tories soon after Mulruin took over as leader federally and Getty was Alberta premier. It was only in the 2015 election when it became apparent that Prinz Dummkopf might actually win that I voted for the Conservatives.

          Now I’m done with them.

    2. Why are airports open and planes flying? Yes there are hypocrites but I blame UN-Trudeau. And China.

    Told her I renounce your party..do not call again until youre ready to support Alberta. Said same thing to UCP MLA.

  44. Will any of these frequent fliers be fined for not staying home for Christmas? With that being asked; why were airports not closed and planes grounded? Who do people think are on those planes, coming and going? Welcome to Justin Trudeau’s ‘reset’, where we will be huddled around burning garbage barrels, roasting frozen potatoes while the ruling class jets off to Hawaii on OUR pension funds and 200% tax.
