  1. That movie is, in my opinion, the weakest in the series. That scene is about the only part that was halfways interesting for me.

And, now, a bit of related trivia. The actress playing the waitress was Mara Corday. She and Eastwood worked together in another movie more than 25 years earlier, Tarantula. She had a starring role while Clint played a fighter pilot (uncredited). One wouldn’t have known it was him as his character was wearing an oxygen mask when he appeared on screen.

    1. B A, Eastwood also had a quick role in another b/w flick, “The Return of the Creature”, the sequel to “The Creature from the Black Lagoon”. John Agar starred in the two films with the Eastwood cameos, and helped Clint get the parts in them.

I’m a big John Agar fan.

      1. I remember that Creature flick. Unfortunately, it’s nowhere near as good as the original.

As for Shirley Temple’s former husband, otherwise known as John Agar, he played opposite John Wayne in several movies, including Fort Apache, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, and The Sands of Iwo Jima.

Unfortunately, Agar’s career hit the skids after the marriage broke up and he made a living starring in B pictures, many of them cheesy monster movies.

        1. I like the cheap b/w sci-fi movies. Some other Agar moves of this genre are: The Mole People, The Brain of from the Planet Around, Zontar: the Thing from the Planet Venus and The Attack of the Puppet People. The last named is considered a cult classic.

Agar was arrested a number of times for drunk driving.

          1. I shamelessly admit that I like many of those old SF flicks as well.

Agar took to the bottle after he and Temple split up, both of which likely being why his acting career went sideways.

    1. Nold I was intrigued by Suzi and discovered her family ties. Below is an updated song with her Dad. From the web:

Suzi Ragsdale grew up in Nashville, the daughter of country/pop singer Ray Stevens (whose legal last name is Ragsdale). At age 10, she was singing on children’s albums, and at age 11, she was singing on publishing demos for songwriters. She sang as part of the chorus on her father Ray Stevens’ song “Everything Is Beautiful.”

Ragsdale provided background vocals for artists such as Guy Clark, Pam Tillis, Suzy Bogguss, Randy Travis, and Ian Tyson. In 1991, Ragsdale secured a publishing contract and wrote songs full-time.

Watch Ray Stevens and Suzi Ragsdale
      “Everything Is Beautiful” Live (3:59)
      https://youtu.be/fDBtZJHgWKE

P.S. Ray Stevens did country, pop, gospel and novelty songs:

“Santa Claus Is Watchin’ You” From ‘The Best of Ray Stevens’ (1967) “The Streak” (1974) “Would Jesus Wear a Rolex” From ‘Crackin’ Up’ (1987) “Shriner’s Convention” From ‘Shriner’s Convention’ (1980) “It’s Me Again, Margaret” From ‘He Thinks He’s Ray Stevens’ (1984) “Misty” “Everything Is Beautiful” “Ahab the Arab” “Gitarzan” etc.

At almost 82 years old he is still doing his novelty stuff, the latest:

    1. So, America invented slavery, eh? Evidently, Kaine doesn’t know the New Testament very well:

      https://bibleproject.com/learn/philemon/

Slavery was practiced throughout the ancient world. Sorry, Kaine, but America was about 1700 years in the future when Paul wrote his letter to Philemon.

      1. Slavery is still working in Africa and the Middle East. China etc and we are adding to it with lockdowns and other socialist bullshit.

        1. Let me fix that for you. We are all slaves to the politicians and bureaucrats that control us.

        1. Blech! I’m sure you don’t buy it, but shrimp from Asia is grown in fetid shit pools. Beyond disgusting. I get either Caribbean or Argentinian wild shrimp.

    2. In my view, this is the kind of thing that diminishes the significance of slavery. Slavery defined a huge chunk of US history, and we relate to it in large part by understanding the struggle to end it. The memorials the ask the viewer to reflect on where they themselves would hsve stood in thst struggle — perhaps not directly but by reminding them of that other time and place. Take away these memorials and what slavery happened in the US soon will become meaningless.

      1. After thousands of years, slavery is still part of the human experience, sad but true.

L- Corollory: If women had the same upper body strength as men, women would have eliminated the female half of the species, long ago.

    1. Link below is the worldometer info on coronavirus.
The total # of deaths is reported as 1,797,286.
      https://tinyurl.com/yardudah

Therefore: @ $77,000  or some figures in the comments show $35,000 per death was awarded to the hospital where the death occurred… the math works out to be as below, in redistributed money.

      1,797,286 deaths × $77,000 each death= total $1,370,391,022,000 or
      1,797,286 × $35,000 = $62,905,010,000

Nah, can’t be right. If it is, what a scam!

P.S. Bill Still said that the money was paid out until June 2020 so that would likely be half of these $ figures.

      Still, makes you wonder.
All lies. Just to rig an election?
      Yeah, maybe!

      1. Note: of course the death figure is constantly changing. The figures above were as of 03:24 am approximately, the time of the above post.

        1. NR, world wide deaths from all causes are at 56 million and change as of this am. Last year it was 56 million as well. With population increase adjustment it will be the same as last year and the whu who flu caused no increase in total deaths. We are all going to die to think otherwise is to not think. 110 years from now, all people currently alive at this moment in time will be dead, the few who aren’t will be drooling in their oatmeal. Being an old man I am severely pissed at having to waste a year or more of what is left of my life because freaking idiots and morons think they can control a flu virus. They are all f ing stupid.

      2. And yet, there is a claim that the Covid19 virus has not really been properly isolated:
        https://principia-scientific.com/irish-government-admits-covid-19-does-not-exist/
In addition, they were not doing autopsies to confirm the actual cause if death — If someone tested positive ( via the unreliable PCR test ) and then died, that was a Covid death. Bizarrely, this seems to have been true, even for those dying in motorcycle accidents. The money angle certainly explains that.

        1. Yep, a couple of guys shot to death in Colorado also died with the covid, a false positive 30 days before was enough to qualify being shot to death as a cov2 death. And people wonder why I hate stupid people.

  3. I had a most remarkable conversation with a longtime friend in Vancouver today. Apparently this past May she finally woke up and now realizes that the MSM, most government officials, and everyone behind Project Fear are all completely full of it!

She is in her mid 40’s. Her dad is prominent with the federal Liberals but she has indeed woken up to the false narratives pitched at her for decades.

    1. Just wait until she realizes that all parties are controlled by the same people and that democracy is a scam. Give it 30 years.

    1. Nope, you’re wrong here. He is not a scammer. Randy has been consistently fighting the lockdown. He is the only one in Ontario legislature to do so. His defiance is in line with the fight he was fighting for months. He is one of the good guys.

      1. Excuse me?
        No.
        I am not “wrong.”
        He’s still breaking the Premier’s law —
        gathering during a lockdown.

        1. We don’t care. The premier is a moron. I have broken all the so called rules every damn chance I get.

        2. I broke the law too. I have no intention of following it. Unlike most politicians I am not telling other people to follow it, or ratting put people who don’t follow it.

    2. Sorry Nancy, I do not agree with that assessment.

Randy Hillier has been Steadfast in grilling the Ford govt on numerous angles of this PLANDEMIC. I think this picture is a Basic UP YOURS to the Ford Administrations BS Lockdown. He has been and likely will continue to be a major pain in the (_i_) for Premier Ford and his admin…GOOD ON HIM..!!

WE did exactly the same thing on Christamas Day. Full Family gathering. NO One on this planet will tell me what and who I can congregate with at any time, let alone Christmas.

      1. Hillier has stood up and asked questions that were never answered because the truth would expose their own lies. steakman, on Christmas eve we went to a friends house, met two people we have never met had dinner and drinks with our friend, his family and three others. Christmas Day, off to my kids and grand kids for a couple of hours and then dinner with another friend and drinks with some of her family. Not one of us has died yet.

  4. The margin of fraud:

An Ogabe appointed judge (and a sister of the Abrams Tank) rules that just because you have moved out it does not mean you can no longer vote from where you have moved out. Yes seriously.
    https://redstate.com/bonchie/2020/12/29/stacey-abrams-sister-is-apparently-a-federal-judge-and-she-just-made-a-terrible-decision-n301341
That is how they enable fraud. They legalize it. They encourage it. And then they claim it did not happen.

That is 4000+ votes in one county alone.

Also remember, criticizing her makes you racist.

    1. I wonder what all these people who participated in and then helped cover up the big cheat think will happen to them when the CCP/ globalists start calling the shots. They have destroyed democracy in the US, and a reckoning is coming.

      1. Trump got this.
He’s not going anywhere, the Deep State and globalists are though.
More and more evidence of election fraud. In PA 200,000 votes over the voter rolls. Biden’s margin is less that half that.

  5. I like when two powerful minds meet here
Nancy Ross, what a dreamy name. Colonialista is superbly eloquent in her rebuttals of Nancy…

  6. Jonathan Pollard is finally safe in the Land of Israel, arriving to a hero’s welcome 35 years after being sent to prison for the crime of doing the right thing by the Jewish people—a crime that the elites of the Gentile world never forgive—giving Israel information potentially useful in enforcing the right of the Jewish people to exist.

Israel had granted Pollard citizenship in 1995. It fell to President Trump to do the decent thing and allow Pollard to leave for Israel over the objections of the American lawyers’ cabal.

      1. Playing Baldwin’s interview with Letterman in the FOX link above, and how the latter laps up all of Alec’s brazen lies, most people can see how phony the New York talk show world is.

  7. Blackie’s CBC is excited that the Governor General made a bunch more people members of the Order of Canada. Usual feminists, homosexuals, and Liberal Party supporters.

    1. feminists, homosexuals, and Liberal Party supporters

At least one of those groups is redundant.

  8. SIavery must be hard on one’s psyche; even for the descendants of sIaves.

I mean, Iook at the Jews. When sIavery wasn’t in the cards, the Europe tried the HoIocaust; and that stiII didn’t work. The Jews are so burdened by their history that that they have cornered the market on NobeI Prizes, created their own country, created high tech gadgets we aII use, have intact famiIies, foIIow the Iaws, are respectfuI to everyone, cherish their famiIies and communities…….etc…etc….

Has nothing to do with character I guess.

  9. Dear Leader continues to be in private meetings this week. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. And don’t miss the muslim woman with a bag over her head at the Toronto Star, as she explains Doug Ford is a lousy Christian. He obviously needs a beheading.

  10. The news that there will be no more snow hasn’t reached south-central Iowa. I cleared about five inches (12.5 cm) yesterday afternoon, and it looks like a comparable amount has fallen since then.

  11. More on the Ontario Finance Minister’s trip to the South:
    1) He left on Dec. 13;
    2) He is still there (over two weeks and still counting);
    3) There is St. Bart’s (one of the most exclusive Caribbean destinations);
    4) Doug Ford has told him to come home:
“Premier Doug Ford said he’s told his finance minister to return to Canada after news broke that Rod Phillips was on a trip outside the country.

Phillips posted photos on social media in recent weeks that show him at locations in Ontario, but his office said Tuesday the photos had been taken before his departure.”

    https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/doug-ford-tells-his-finance-minister-rod-phillips-to-come-home-from-the-caribbean

      1. My wife and I did too. We just put in about a week’s worth of wood and kindling, just for emergency outages.
        ,

        1. Yup. Outages are reason #1.
Even though – as one example – LED lighting is extremely efficient and evermore prevalent its efficiency won’t help enough against increasing grid load that is being forced by the governments.
Has BC Premier Horgan guaranteed no brown outs with his governments declaration of no more ICE vehicles after 2035? Has anyone from the MSM even axed him the question?
Earth First arsehole terrorists are reason #2 and they may move to #1 as they are emboldened by retards like Juthtin and Joe Blow who both talk the talk but don’t understand the engineering implications.
#3 might see the near future politicians making gas home heating illegal even though efficiencies are in the high nineties.

  12. The National Post has published a superb article by Jonathan Kay, eviscerating the cancel culture slavishly adhered to by Canada’s “progressives”. The language he employs is a delight to read. One sample:

“The alternative vision of our country that has now become ascendant within progressive circles (the arts, in particular) has little to do with Group of Seven paintings or the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Instead, it casts Canada as a genocidal colonial state existing in an ongoing condition of original sin. This national vision is nihilistic and bleak, and has little support among ordinary Canadians. But it does at least offer its adherents a heroic subplot, by which Indigenous peoples (artists and writers, in particular) are celebrated as a priestly caste of moral savants who shall confer grace upon the rest of us.”

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/jonathan-kay-michelle-latimer-saga-shows-that-dna-can-make-or-break-your-career

    1. That article is dynamite. It is very believable and should be shared widely. Two things stand out for me: never before have healthy people been locked up to stop the spread of disease. That has been totally devastating and wrong- headed. Where did that even come from? The other thing that I find bothersome and believable is the danger in masking children. Several people at Toronto Sick Kids have said children should never be forced to wear masks. Something truly horrible is going on, and we can not trust the politicians to make the right decision for the public good. Whatever happened to Christine Elliot? She used to be someone you could trust. She should be pushing back on some of this and questioning bureaucrats. Instead, she has become the Pied Piper.

    1. Interesting.

One thing I noticed during my last time in Montreal, which was more than 30 years ago, was that the concrete on a number of bridges was spalling to the point that the interior rebar was often exposed. I assumed it was because moisture and, presumably, road salt had percolated through the concrete, causing the steel to corrode with the corrosion products building up to the point that it fractured the surrounding material.

      1. BADR: It has been widely reported that corruption and crime are some of the main reasons for the problems with the concrete used in highways bridges and overpasses in Quebec. Corrupt politicians and bureaucrats take money from construction companies operated by mobsters to award the contracts to the mobsters’ companies. The companies then cut costs in construction by not meeting the specifications for quality. Provincial inspectors are paid to turn a blind on to the major flaws in construction. Then the bridges and overpasses fail prematurely.

  13. Blackie’s cabinet minister is giving a China virus update on TV entirely in French with no English translation.

  14. Ontario John – so who cares if the Cabinet Minister is blabbing in Patois? Its all BS anyway!
    PS: always love your posts.

  15. Shree at the Liberal Party’s Toronto Star looks back and sums up 2020. Everything that has happened the past year is because Canadians are racist bastards. Canadians are racist bastards towards indians. Canadians are racist bastards towards muslims. Canadians are racist bastards towards blacks, etc. etc. But don’t worry, she will keep reporting on those damn white “settlers” all during 2021.

  16. The Liberal Party’s CBC is excited for some reason about the first indian owned liquor store opening up near Saskatoon. What could possibly go wrong?

    1. +++OJ, just read that and it gave me a out loud chuckle. What the hell, if casinos are ok, booze in said casinos can’t be much worse than owning your own liquor store. I wonder what the tax level is? Like tobacco?

      1. According to the story, the liquor store will have a section for Indian made booze. Now you can get a quality jug of “Old Squall” at 110 proof. If you don’t like the taste, you can use it as anti freeze in your truck.

  17. So Ontario’s finance minister slipped away on a planned vacation in the middle of a crisis? Guess he’d been saving up for a long time and that’s his justification. He didn’t know a lockdown was coming….

Did Doug Ford give him the thumbs up? Or does Doug Ford not know where his senior cabinet ministers are?

One of the two (or both) are lying. If Ford gave buddy the green light and let him go then Ford is in a position where it’s impossible to fire him.

If the minister did this on his own then what are you waiting for Ford? He has to go. Show leadership.

Somebody will have to take the high jump here.

  18. National Post reports on how Canada resettles more refugees than any other country. Got to keep those Liberal voters coming in and the temp. agencies happy.

  19. I just listened to Doug Ford talking about the situation he finds himself in with his finance minister in the 3rd person.

    How stupid are you Doug?
Why didn’t you read the riot act to your MPP’s and forbid travel? Didn’t Ford himself get caught traveling last spring?

These guys have no judgement and no sense.

    1. These guys have no judgement and no sense.

Nononononononono! It isn’t a case of “one law for thee and one law for me”. It’s that being an elitist gives one immunity–nay, invincibility or invulnerability–against the virus.

  20. In the words of John Cleese on a few episodes of Monty Python, and, now, something completely different.

Many years ago, I started the habit of leaving food for the local critters at Christmas. I figured when many people were enjoying a yuletide meal, why not our feathered and furry friends?

This year was no exception. I left birdseed in several locations in my immediate neighbourhood and a bunch of large carrots for the rabbits at the usual feeding spot last week. Earlier today, I walked by that location on my way to the grocery store and those carrots were completely gone. Every last scrap had vanished.

What I also found were footprints all over the place and lots of their–ahem–calling cards. Someone clearly enjoyed what I had offered to them.

  21. While were at it wonder where the Bong is? Skiing in BC? That’s one of his favorite places.

And to be fair were is Michelle Remple? Last lockdown she was in Oklahoma. Asking for a friend.

    1. Her displays of fire and brimstone have certainly diminished ever since she got married.

  22. it’s interesting to watch the news media fawn over Joe Biden picking individuals for certain positions. This old fool probably can’t even find his own penis.

  23. I’ve posted on and off, daily stats from our AHS COVID website in Alberta. All along, shrieking headlines of 654 gazillion “cases” and overloaded ICU’s. Bollocks, as they say in Blighty.
    https://thepostmillennial.com/albertas-top-doctor-is-misleading-public-about-covid-with-irresponsible-tweets
Alberta has 8300 hospital beds and up to 1040 odd ICU beds. Current stats today: 921 in beds and 152 ICU. There are some 4.2 million Albertans. Deaths….DEATHS if you believe the numbers as all COVID, all of the time, are 1042. Do the math.
