The Forgotten People

Politicians have found it very easy to keep on shutting down businesses, especially some stores. We’re repeatedly told that their decisions are based on “data and science” and that “they’re doing it for our safety”. Rarely ever do they pause to think about the “little people” whose lives have been destroyed by these decisions. Here are some of their stories:

Adonijah Niles, a single mom, lost her job in mid-March. She had been making about $13 an hour doing part-time clerical work for a hospitality shuttle service.

Now, Niles, 26, is six months behind on rent. She and her three young kids may soon be forced out of their apartment in Watervliet, New York.

Her current income — about $380 a week in pre-tax jobless benefits and $500 in monthly food stamps — isn’t enough to cover the family’s basic living costs. It falls well short of the federal poverty line for a family of four.

  1. First issue is Congress (both parties) then the governors who are pushing these (non-science) lock downs.

The Prez has no control over this.

Funny that CNBC didn’t speak of this.

  2. THIS alone should cause an army of hundreds of thousands of heavily armed citizens to quietly and swiftly descend upon the District of Corruption and build scaffolding to begin the summary executions of the ALL THE ELITE.

    1. Is there such a thing as a coup against a non-national gov’t? If Seattle police had overthrown the city council and mayor last summer instead of the chief resigning, wouldn’t that have been a good start to getting rid of the slime?

  3. Not just the USA. I am getting a big fat HAPPY LOCKDOWN from Doug Ford and co. which should put my industry, the hospitality sector over the edge. There is expected to be at least a 30% reduction in size of the hospitality industry by the spring and I have seen estimates of up to 60%.

      1. No one cares until the money runs out.

Just print more money. I hear that’s what Mugabe did. I wonder how that worked out…..

  4. How about we start recognizing politicians for what they are, assholes and morons and we can include a multitude of other bureaucrats in the same basket. We really are screwed and hoisted by our own petard. We can blame no one except ourselves, our own stupidity and lack of intellect. Ontario is now doing once again that which did not work the first time and the f-ing idiot brits now think they have a more severe virus. Will someone please kill all the politicians, to hell with the lawyers, they aren’t really all that dangerous when you look at bureaucrats and politicians.

  5. But in our future communist utopia, no one will need to work, just wait for the government money to roll in………..so they tell us……….

  6. The true forgotten people are her former employer. When the commies are done with their reset, her former employers and herself will be reduced to the same subsistence level.

  7. Not one politician, bureaucrat or civil servant lost their paycheque due to the lockdowns. They don’t give a shit about anyone that did. Just keep up the mantra, “We’re in this together.”

Okay, the Medicine Hat-Cypress MLA suggested a 20% pay cut until the lockdowns were ended. He is getting flak from fellow MLA’s and bureaucrats. The Cochrane MLA for one.

  8. …but they’ll still keep voting Democrat, at least that’s what the voting machines will tell us !!!

  9. The goal is to make people more dependent on government handout.

You’ll see a push in the next 3-6 months for Universal Basic Income.

  10. Of course government can go on shutting down private industry FOREVER.
For in the world of the educated beyond all reason, wealth comes from the government.
All good in society comes from the benevolent dribbling of wealth and wisdom upon the heads of the helpless citizens..clients of the state..
Forget the parables of the pastoral past, those who refuse to work,do not starve, today they live large at the expense of fools who labour.
Forget the concept that government has no money, that every penny they waste and consume must be made good by productive citizens..
For todays enlightened wisdom is that government can borrow their way to wealth, that government employees are the brightest and best of our population, more fit to rule, using borrowed and stolen monies, than any stupid private citizen.
Even to rule those aspects of the peon’s life once thought private and sacred.
Only “Ignorant Rednecks” think that they are entitled to the rights of a freeman.

For our enlightened ones know that without the help of their benevolence,we can do nothing right.

Now way back in primary school I first met those who have no limits on the intrusions they feel obliged to impose on their fellow man, they grew into hall monitors, bylaw enforcers and snitches, never seeming to be able to develop a life or relationships with people comfortable in their own skins.
    Always seeking to help.
Their “help” of course being unwanted, unhelpful and ever more intrusive.

We are now ruled by these types.
Too stupid to know any limits and too clueless to see the coming storm.
There is a judgement coming and a cull is way overdue.
Tolerance and forbearance should never be taken as compliance and surrender.

Covid is another straw, very likely the final straw,as the fools and bandits have inflicted financial damage so sever as to be fatal.
Are you going to voluntarily work long hours to pay massive taxes for the debt that never ends?
The unit of exchange is fading away.
So many have their worth tied up in units of exchange, perceiving dollars as wealth, even as that wealth vanishes before their eyes .
When the dollar falls,we might limp along using the US dollar for a while, but it is teetering too.
More likely we will be back to barter, with a huge chunk of our population lacking any skills or abilities of use to their fellow citizens..

Our parasitic overload is trying to prevent this situation by stealing whatever assets the productive still have, so that all shall be equal in misery.

However seeing as how they hate the trees and all other plants so intensely that they seek to starve them by reducing all atmospheric CO2,killing us all in the process,I have become an advocate for the plants.
Make all alarmists into plant food,to make penance for their sins against the trees.
    Save the trees I say.
    Save us all.
For without the plants we die.
There fore all “climate alarmists” are wanna be murders, they openly want all life to die.
I shall chose to believe them, that they are sincere in their desires,to prevent and reduce atmospheric Carbon dioxide.
Thus I must conclude they want to kill every common life form on this planet, that they are the ever present danger to species survival here on earth and must be treated accordingly.

Damn that was easy, the Unibomber was an abject loser compared to me.
    Not to mention obviously wrong.

Now sarcasm is so hard to relate to,in this age of insanity, for so much madness has become real, possibly because useless fools and bandits have never learnt from their mistakes, having never attempted anything real and thus have no sense of humour in their pinched little souls.
Learning a skill,no matter what skill, teaches you things you cannot learn by watching or talking it to death…mostly things about yourself.
Finding a passion that pays well?
    Pure gold.

    1. Like a fellow said a while ago, I need new conspiracy theories as my old one’s have all come true.

  11. “Adonijah Niles, a single mom”

Let me ruminate on this for a moment … What is a 26 yer old doing with 3 kids and no father?

I will guess, judging by her stupid name, she is likley black and votes Democrat. And will continue to do so.

Adonijah made some very bad choices with her groin and now she is living the dream.

I simply cannot feel sorry for people who make such ignorant choices.

  12. The math on this one escapes me.

If she was working “part-time” at a job paying $13/hr, a 30 hour week would have given her a gross income of $390/week. How is this notably different from her $380/week in unemployment? 36 hours/week gives a gross of $468, but net will be less than gross in either instance because, best case, she’s got FICA coming out off the top, if nothing else at all.

Oh, and those unemployment benefits are “pre-tax”? They don’t take FICA out of unemployment, and at that income level, I can’t see her having any income tax liability at all.

How has her income changed by any notable amount from when she was working?
