  1. Please don’t defund them, anything but that.
Hey, Law and Order morons, are you still convinced they are the good guys?

    1. Yeah….they are the good guys. It is those on the Police Commission and the Council that are the morons. Just like in cities like Portland….the cops try to do the right thing but the politicians and woke goons in the Police Commission call the shots.

      1. Give it a rest with the tired “Ve ver yust folovink ordez” routine. It did not work then and hasn’t worked since. They’re jackbooted thugs, lowlifes who get their rocks off brutalizing those who cannot defend themselves and eagerly sucking the PC dick in public.

    2. How long before police will be giving black people blow jobs on demand.

I mean … they are already on their knees.

      How humiliating.

  2. Too bad he didn’t just skate to the other side of the pond. Which tells me he wanted to cooperate. The bitchcops just didn’t want him to. They wanted the pinch.

  3. Amazing ain’t it?
City Police are minions, blatantly obeying those who sign their pay check over those who pay it,then act all righteous and confused when the taxpayers treat them as they have shown themselves to be.
Some how our political masters have decided it is better to spend money on harassing, controlling and robbing the citizens, than to spend money ensuring that we have medical staff and ICU beds available to treat the sick..
Disguising this mendacity with blather about “cases”.

The lesson of this 10 month exercise in a 2 week emergency shutdown,to save the healthcare faculties, should not be lost on any useful citizen.

A grotesque litany of incompetence, contradictory outbursts and kabuki theatre..
    Public health,my ass.
These idiots have not even been able to provide themselves with enough information to make an informed decision, never mind giving any sensible advice to us.

    Fire them all.

The Dread Covid crisis will be over in a heartbeat,if we stop the pay to the idiots infringing every human right we imagined we had.

This is not a pandemic by any stretch of the definition.
    99% plus survival rate?
So much for “Bring out yer dead”.

We are 10 months into this complete cluster f**k and we still cannot get accurate information.
    What the hell?

    1. And cover up the train-wreck underneath layers of manufactured or manipulated statistics to justify how it was handled.

  4. Unfortunately, many of the bulldykes and, for that matter, soyboys masquerading as security agents at the Edmonton airport have a similarly belligerent attitude. Fortunately, none of them are issued weapons as I’m sure they wouldn’t hesitate to use them.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they, too, were hired to fill an affirmative action quota.

  5. I’m not anti-police at all.
Clearly the officers are in the wrong, both the 2 making the arrest, and the heavy one watching over this.

My guess is they’re taking direction from those at the top of the Calgary Police Service, and the Mayor’s office. Perhaps they’ll be protected by the political class when this goes to court and I’m not excusing that. Those people, the judges, the political who enable them, unless they’re your neighbor you’ll never know where to address the mail to, or if they actually read it.

Don’t like this? well you can’t very well “vote against the police” but the Mayor of Calgary is running for election in 2021.
And, you can always phone / write / email to the Premier of Alberta and tell him to pull his head out of his ass.
And as always, be sure when you’re canvassed to donate money to these political types, calmly tell them the reasons you’ll not be donating to their cause.
They won’t listen, or worse, they’ll blame you if you tell them to fuck off, regardless of how much you think it.

And be sure to tell the politicals of what you think of the BLM bullshit.

    calmly.

  6. Identify the cops, research their home address and publish widely-the cops hate that.

    1. No….better to publish the home address of the head of the Police Commission, the Police Chief and the Calgary Bürgermeister.

  7. They must be from Reserve Police Battalion 101.

Living in Orwell’s ‘1984’ is bad enough. If we start rehearsals for Browning’s ‘Ordinary Men’, it’s going to get much worse.

  8. Has Nenxi responded? It will be interesting to hear his defense.

He has increasingly been short tempered recently. The stress must be getting to him. I don’t think he can win another term.

    1. Yeah, he has been off the rails for a while now. Ezra Levant who went to University with that twit Nenshi said that when Nenshi gets mad, his arrogance and totalitarian streak takes over….that’s what is happening now. Nenshi is trying to make himself look like a “take charge” guy to try to win back some of the looney leftist vote.

  9. According to CPS they weren’t arresting him for violating the health order, they were arresting him for criminal code obstruction for refusing to ID himself when they were trying to issue him a ticket for the health order.

So instead of taking the ticket and arguing it in court, he decided to be childish and resisted the two officers attempts to arrest him. That’s how it works, it’s pretty simple – if refuse to give your name, you get to stay in custody till they can figure out who you are.

If everyone just refused to give their name, without consequence, anytime an officer tried to issue them a ticket, there would never be any provincial ticket or bylaw ticket enforcement.

We all might agree that these Covid rules are idiotic, and I think they are. But what’s more idiotic is failing to follow the lawful direction of a police officer and throwing down just cause you don’t get your way when you want to go skating. Grow up, take the ticket, fight it in court, vote out the politicians, sue the city, but don’t start trying to throw around a couple cops for doing what the law requires them to do, which wouldn’t have escalated if you just followed lawful direction.

    1. The cops were not giving lawful directions, they were acting outside the scope of law, and indeed violating charter rights from the get-go.

        1. Interesting to see how many cops and sheriffs in the US of A have refused to enforce these busy-body infringements on normal activity. In Canaduh – we are all just following orders and doing our job. I once explained to my wife, who comes from a different culture, that a Canadian is someone who will apologize for walking too slowly as they are being herded into the cattle cars.

          1. I heard Justin saying he will always support peaceful protests, of course he was talking about farmers in India, not anti lockdown protests in Canada.

        2. In response to the idea of arguing charter rights violations, I would point to this particular case in Ontario of a church asking for an injunction of the local bylaw which was going to impose only 10 people in a church capable of holding 900. The link first:

          https://torontosun.com/news/local-news/court-ruling-limits-north-york-church-to-10-worshipers-for-christmas-services

And the money quote from the judge:

“On Friday, Justice Breese Davies said she would not be dealing with the constitutional issues involved in this case until later, and would only address whether or not the church should be allowed to return to the 30% attendance between now and the time the court decides those constitutional issues.”

And not surprisingly, the justice did not grant the injunction, nor did she give a date for when the constitutional issues would be addressed (the words “Never, unless forced” come to mind). So while it would be better if there would be an argument in court, it is not going to happen unless the issue is forced by the public.

      1. Don’t really think you are an authority in the matter notwithstanding your apparent belief that somehow you are.

        1. Actually Arthur, most posters here, realize that the person sitting behind the bench, the crown prosecutor bringing the charges, and probably the representative for the defense, have all topped up this years contribution to the LPOC, and are on the list of next years expectrd donors.
Yet here you are with the naive idea that a citizen can find justice in this country.
Canada has a legal system, justice doesn’t live there and hasn’t for a very long time.

      2. No they were not. If you want to pretend to be a lawyer at least be a good pretend lawyer.
        Otherwise STFU

    2. Or we might agree that there are real crimes being committed that need attention Rob.

And that this is to send a message that the state is the ultimate power, and you had better not resist.

    3. I don’t answer questions so fuck off is my usual response. Never been asked for my name after that.

    4. Skating on globally-warmed thin ice dept.
One is reminded of this other incident, where a young mother was brutally subdued at a stadium:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6S17AEci08
Again, people close by watched an horrific abuse of a fellow citizen without ‘getting involved’.

“According to CPS they weren’t arresting him for violating the health order, they were arresting him for criminal code obstruction for refusing to ID himself when they were trying to issue him a ticket for the health order.”
      His friends called him ‘Ocean’. Can’t be many folks with that name around town. Not like Moe, eg.;
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EaUqLrfEMU

  10. There’s many that are going to attack this young man and blame his upbringing. I’ve seen the tweets already. Watch this short video and you decide.
    Scrool down for video.

**This is the beautiful family attacked by @nenshi’s out-of-control COVID cops. What a wonderful family. And how wretched @CalgaryPolice
    were to them.**
    Kleenex warning…

    https://twitter.com/ezralevant/status/1340327726096539651

BTW. Only one news organization reached out to the young man for his perspective. Keean from Rebel News. The rest are reporting it solely from the police side which shouldn’t surprise anyone. The Media LOVE these lockdowns, in fact pushed daily stories that the Premier wasn’t going far enough till he relented. The Media LOVE the Mayor and they LOVE a diverse police force. So you know they’ll be circling the wagon along with the police and the politicians.

  11. It did cross my mind that the cops went all out because they were dealing with a young White male, no extraneous considerations, they may have been delighted to have someone they could curse and kick around with impunity.

  12. Time to pick a side folks. Either you stand for you rights or you aquiese to the state and their goons suborning those rights and then further clamping down since you have accepted their tyranny thus far.

Not a one off. These cops were told to act this way.

    1. They were ORDERED to act that way. The fault lies with the fascists in the Mayor’s office and the Police Commission. Morale is low already in the CPS and this kind of crap and putting the police in positions like that for Nenshi’s ego is despicable and will drive morale even more into the ditch. City council, the Police Commission and the Police Chief have to go.

      1. ” their lives are ruined.”

I sure hope so. That would be a true silver lining to the story. When they have to move. because neighbuors spit and change the side of the street when they see them walk, life can get quite sad. Good, just deserts.

  13. cops like to be tough on pretty white people …… the bad ass hood dudes that put up a fight? yeah the cops avoid those situations regularly

      1. Tell it tot he family of Myles Gray who your favorite thugs lynched to death Casino style.

    1. Maybe experiences like this one make everyone hate cops, often just a uniform away from thugs. My family is full of police, they are getting out fast, cities are hiring gang members to make their diversity quota.

  14. Robert Barnes, the high profile lawyer that’s currently part of the Trump legal team has retweeted this. Nice image you had Calgary.

  15. Barney and Gomerette were very inexperienced. Likely, their M.O. would get an “F” in training school. What an embarrassment for Calgarians and it was so stupid that it’s now gone viral for sheer voyeurism.

I agree with Ezra, who wrote:

“A real policeman would use his discretion; would, at most, have “lectured” the teen. Nenshi’s abusive cops swore at him; wouldn’t answer what he did wrong; were violent; and drew their weapons improperly. Such a discredit to real police everywhere.”

  16. “Just following orders” it wasn’t a good enough excuse in history and it isn’t now.

These acts are forcing me to say it’s time to defund the police, and start over. The rot is clearly insurmountable. Defund the government while we’re at it. This pandemic is a great opportunity for a conservative reset.

I’ll consider changing my mind if the rest of the police officers in Alberta demand their firing. Until then they are all equally culpable.

I am sick of this behavior. Bouncers act better dealing with belligerent drunks.

    1. Changed my mind. They need to fired AND a lifetime ban from Alberta. Time to start buying bus tickets.

  17. If you have had the misfortune to interact with bylaw enforcement or safety officers in almost every situation it is worse than full blown police. They are not properly trained insecure wannabe cops. They are puffed up by their authority. Anyone with half a brain would never have escalated this situation to this point. There job is to keep people safe. Nothing they did kept anyone safe. If you recall this is one of numerous cases the Calgary service has been involved in. I think we officially now live in a police state . They have the right to detain or confiscate on a whim. I am going to quit before I write things I shouldn’t – but I am pretty sure by June there will be a significant number of people who realize there is only one path out of this and it isn’t pretty.

    1. That describes most airport security agents I’ve had to deal with. They think they’re Wyatt Earp but without the guns. Unfortunately, they act as if I’m one of the Clantons.

  18. Anyone else disturbed that the two female police officers had an incredibly difficult time detaining a teenage boy? Not only was this arrest a waste of time, and potentially unlawful, but the officers can’t overwhelm the kid physically even in a 2v1 situation. What an absolute joke.

    1. And a kid on skates at that. Me thinks officers Karen and Cartman need some well deserved leave of absence. Maybe they should look for another career, I hear glory hole business is booming after the advice of our health authorities.

      1. Fair enough, but the point stands. Cops should be capable of delivering overwhelming physical force, and also knowing when and how to use it. These two showed neither…

  19. Taking on the cops is never a good idea even if you are in the right. If they determine you are resisting they are trained to massively over react. Death (yours) is a very real possibility.

The kid may win a civil suit but will have a criminal record for the rest of his life. Bad judgment.

    1. Right you are.
      Questions
If there were 40 other people also playing hockey why the interaction with this guy?
Perhaps he started the ‘altercation’ with some other action not on the video?
I agree this is not arrest worthy but he may have brought on himself.

  20. Like everything else in this Country, the reason this shit continues to happen is because the only protesting against it takes place on blogs and forums like Rebel and SDA. And other than helping to let off a bit of steam, it is essentially useless.

    1. So other people tell them off but you dont. Thats okay.
Glad to hear someone is going something.

  21. Zero chance of Covid spread on a rink. PERIOD. 100% chance of backpack guy on stolen bike stealing something while cruising the alleys in Calgary, Zero policing on this, zero fines from the courts.

  22. Now the useless cops wasting money on flying helicopters over the skating rink.
So – you can go to crowded indoor Malls, Costco, Walmart, Superstore but you cant go skating outdoors with a few buddies – because of Covid?
None of the politicians anywhere know what the Hell they are doing,!

And yes Calgary needs to rid itself of this pompous overweight narcissistic Nensharia moron,

    1. Never elect anyone to office who doesn’t have kids. You never know what weird Perversion they have.

  23. Nenshi might as well resign and move to San Francisco where all the other chubby, 3 chinned,SJW Liberal losers end up. This stunt by the Calgary brown shirts under Nenshi’s order has guaranteed his defeat in the next election.
