  1. Check out this new website, “Not Amazon” it is the latest campaign urging people to shop ‘local’ this holiday season and help small businesses survive the COVID-19 pandemic.
    https://www.calgarysun.com/news/local-news/hanging-by-a-thread-local-stores-join-forces-to-pull-shoppers-away-from-amazon/wcm/87c711aa-3ff8-4864-bde7-50ba2de2b94f

    Some retail anecdotes:

Recently I did some retail therapy at a major mall in Calgary. Got me some cool boots that fit, asked for a discount and got 15% off.

Due to covid, I sometimes use “INSTACART” service for purchasing groceries. They recently delivered exactly everything I wanted with no replacements but they mistakenly included some meat that I didn’t order. They were promptly notified and I was told to keep the meat for free.

Having lived in rural Canada for almost 20 years I can appreciate how one would prefer to shop online being miles away from stores. We couldn’t shop online pre-internet days for groceries but mostly everyone shopped for everything else through the Sears Catalogue. I didn’t.
Sears still went bankrupt, and as you know, Amazon and others, ate their lunch.

So the moral of this is– try to shop locally. Give them a hand.
    Your City is dying.

    1. Get to know your local farmer too. The Food Inflation that is coming is going to be very bad. Canada imports most of its food.

      1. I knew from a close source that “Big Grocer” dictates the price a farmer gets for his harvested foodstuff. They’ve a cartel. The farmer has no say in price, it’s take it or leave it. They are not afraid to tell the farmer that they can buy from another farmer who us ready to fill the order. But to be fair, come springtime the Grocer will give a price increase to the farmer due to a constant demand but dwindling supplies.

        Proof of collusion?
The $2/ hour increase then decrease in pay for grocery store workers last Spring. The Grocers ALL did it, oddly enough, simultaneously, what a coincidence!

        1. You don’t seem to understand how markets work. Go to a farm and follow how his/her production flows to market. It certainly is not take it or leave it as production comes off the fields. Much more complex than you are suggesting.

          1. “You don’t seem to understand how markets work.”

For small farmers it’s that way.
For the mega producers, they own the land, greenhouses and workers.

            We’re not, not understanding.
            Puleeze!

      2. About the “get to know your local farmer”…
Not always possible. They may want to sell only to stores especially come Springtime when prices are better for them.

I recently read something for the conscientious shopper and I tried it:
1- Stick to outer isles in grocery stores.
        2- Choose 1 ingredient foods.

I found I was in and out quicker and didn’t lose time reading stuff.
For quantity and better quality — for example:
came home and blanched vegetables to freeze and made fresh apple sauce.

        1. I map out a grocery store because I usually know what I’m looking for. I often write out my shopping list in a sequential order to follow a specific route. I usually have all my items in about 15 minutes, only to find myself waiting in line for an irritating amount of time.

          1. BADR:

I do that too at a large full block supermarket literally next door. BUT, they have 3 self scanners which I use 100% of the time. And BTW, this morning I entered mask-free (in the pocket if asked). I guess I must be a bit of a narcissist: was shocked to learn that not all eyes are on me. Tho one old Chinese lady literally scraped her cart along the frozen food display cases in attempt to avoid the leper.

          2. I’m back to wearing a you-know-what because of Jason Kreampuff’s stunt last week. But I’ll slowly see what I can get away with.

Unfortunately, there’ll always be some jackass who can’t keep his or her nose out of my business.

      3. Thanks Watcher, we have two main farmers. One, we buy our grass fed, grass finished beef from. There are no weekly deals or discounts but the quality is always top drawer. We have another from whom we buy our chicken, pork and assorted home made items ( peroghy’s, honey) We can buy eggs, root veg etc. from the Hutterite colony a 15 minute drive from the ranch. At home here we grow all our own potato’s, carrots, beets, beans, garlic, radishes, lettuce, peas. These are seasonal, so are eaten through the summer and early fall. We can and pickle what we don’t finish in the summer. Average 40 tomato plants which are then roasted with garlic and onion and bagged and frozen. Makes for great sauce base, or soup. Home made salsa with our jalepeno’s.
We are blessed out here. Only go to “town” when absolutely necessary.

        1. Good stuff for large families, with 2 freezers, a large acreage and a big garden. It’s what you must do.

(Sadly, in 1759 the British moved right in and the French fed them or risked getting their whole farms burned to the ground. That’s why the French hate England, some farms perished. Won’t happen today)

    2. Sears still went bankrupt, and as you know, Amazon and others, ate their lunch.

The fix was in for Sears when it took over K-Mart and, as I recall, put its former boss in charge of the whole organization. Everything went to crap after that.

Unfortunately, there are lots of things I can’t buy locally because they’re simply not available in my area. The dealers for that sort of stuff that used to be in town have often closed shop and either gone elsewhere or went belly up. I prefer to look and handle the merchandise myself, but that’s often not possible, so I have order it from whoever will sell it to me and hope I’m right.

      1. Occasionally prices are better too through exterior sources especially when available from the USA, even with the dollar exchange.

Those poor Sears workers. Their pensions were stolen! I read somewhere Canadian comedian Mike Myers’ brother was a Manager who worked for the firm for over 30 years and got nada!

        1. I had a relative who used to work for Sears many years ago. Even then he knew that something wasn’t quite right with the company and this was back in the ’80s or ’90s.

          1. Sears was the exception of a large business closing. It’s mostly smaller ones closing now. The cycle repeats itself.

When I lived in Mtl we were surrounded with stores that were owned by individual families. They, including the families, are mostly all gone now, perhaps a few restaurants remain. (I have fun with Google earth and visit certain neighbourhoods)

A movie that I saw a few years ago about a small business still moves me today. This true story showed what happened to a British book shop is exemplary of what is happening everywhere. This makes this movie even more precious.
            Here is a scene:
“84 Charing Cross Road” (1987) – Anthony Hopkins recites Yeats
            https://youtu.be/lNeq7Dakv_k

Hope your relative wasn’t too hard up.
Miraculously people always seem to reinvent themselves, some even do better, when ‘life’ happens.

          2. Hope your relative wasn’t too hard up.

He went and did something else after he quit Sears. He’s had more jobs than he’s had wives and girlfriends.

      2. Yes, Sears had the ultimate distribution system for on line shopping and failed to utilize it. North America wide distribution.

      3. I think the problem with Sears was they inventoried for seasons, not days, and the post office did not fellate them like they do with Amazon. I can buy things delivered to my home by Canada Post , product and postage, cheaper than I can mail it. Sears owned the home delivery market but could not transition it to the computer age.

    1. Anybody who escaped from them, never went back —
these were their own people. With the Americans, they are in for a big surprise and they are not going to like it.

    1. Thanks Ward,
That was a powerful interview and a brilliant description of how the adjudicators will be able to authenticate legal ballots for each candidate and how they’ll be able to eliminate the fraudulent ones should they recount ballots.

    1. Every time I see something that stupid I shake my head and question the sanity of my fellow human beings.

  2. Great Leader Mao Tse Trudeau issued a statement on his website celebrating the Aga Khan. No word in the statement when he will be visiting the private island again.

    1. Justin is really upset that he shouldn’t vacation in a warm place this winter.

But since he has access to a private jet, and he’s got a complacent media, he might just go to a private island for Christmas.

    1. Something’s happening with Google this morning. GMail is down, Blogger is down (and NEO is on Blogger). Probably other Google services. I hope this is a sign Trump is about to smash the CCP cabal and proclaim himself president until 2025.

      1. Just read else where that there are a number of things happening. I wonder does it relate to the electoral college vote today?

  3. And now your Islam celebrating Christmas story for today. True North reports on a Pakistani Christian woman, who was murdered because she wouldn’t marry a muslim man and convert to Islam.

  4. Blacklock reports that the carbon tax will increase 240%. By the way, Canada is going into a deep freeze for the next few days.

  5. Just a thought. If you want the Trans Mountain Pipeline killed at all cost, does that mean you are Transphobic?

  6. The Electoral College meets today and will end the madness.

As much as I like Trump’s policies – he lost. It’s time to move on. Were their election inconsistencies? Maybe, but Trump couldn’t prove any.

I don’t like Trump the person. Wouldn’t have him as a friend but if his popularity has any traction left he needs to move on and organize for next time. I think he has a motivated base but I don’t think it will be him in 2024.

    1. “The Electoral College meets today and will end the madness.”

There might be some surprises in that regard.
      Hang on to your hat.
      America will NOT go Communist.
      Have faith Ab!!

  7. RIP Charlie Pride 1934-2020
Charlie related one time that a fan observed, “you look like them but you sound like us”.
Charlie the consummate gentleman simply replied,
“I can’t help it, it’s the way I’ve sounded my whole life”

  8. The Bloc Quebecois MPs receive salaries and generous pensions from federal taxpayers. Quebec receives $12 billion annually in equalization payments from federal taxpayers (Alberta receives $0.0). And what is a priority for the Bloc?

“The Bloc Québécois has launched a holiday ad campaign urging Montrealers not to say Bonjour-Hi.
Posters for the sovereignist federal party show a blue Santa with the caption “Bonjour-Ho!””

    https://nationalpost.com/news/local-news/bloc-wants-to-switch-out-bonjour-hi-for-bonjour-ho/wcm/00b78304-231d-4056-b5aa-7420191f8147

The Dear Leader is an MP from the Montreal area, what are his views on this? Will his disciples in the mainstream media even ask him?

One Montrealer is not afraid to disagree publicly with the french-language fascists in Quebec (some of you will have already enjoyed this video from “Mad Martin”):

    1. EmmJaay…!! What a put-on!
Ha! What happened to SANTA’S greeting: “HO-HO-HO?”
It meets with the P.Q.’s “Régie de la Langue Française’s” crazy rules.

With a greeting like that: “Bonjour-Ho”  — Bros are not gonna like it!
‘Munt-rallers’ are risking a face slap or maybe their mouths sealed with this:

      P.S.
BTW, here’s your weather forecast for the week …
or as the CTV- CFCF weatherperson would say it’s the (ahem!)
“futurecast” or, simply, from Brudder it’s the fourkast:

Watch “Fratelli Fourkast | Dec 14 – 20” on YouTube
      https://youtu.be/5oaaPO65EVc

(From Brudder it should be, ‘Fork-asked’ since he is obsessed with food!)

      Cheers!

  9. The Santa Claus Covid19 Express has arrived in Canada with the vaccine.

First detected over Cape Spear his path was tracked across Newfoundland and the Maritimes. Canadians were giddy with anticipation.

When he hit the quebek border and began the journey along the north shore the excitement was measurable.

A cheer erupted when it was announced he’d hit Ontario – it won’t be long now…..Toronto -yeeeeesss.

Thank you thank you Santa and Mr trudeau. You delivered against all odds. While it was only weeks ago when you said it might be September before we got the vaccine and now, Here It Is.

    Merry Christmas to all……

      1. A classic librano ploy. Under promise and over deliver. The Bong played it to perfection. The media, opposition and chattering class jumped all over his suggestion that it would be September. It became the narrative. Took the heat off everything else….anybody remember WE…. didn’t think so.

      2. Pfizer, eh? They have production facilities in Chinah, among others. I wouldn’t touch it with your arm.

  10. Angry Adolf The Great Reset King, has announced today hundreds of millions of dollars in funding to buy vaccines for shithole countries.

    1. He made the announcement because when his chicom vax deal fell through he panicked and ordered multiple millions of vaccine from any pharma company who might produce it. What this did was distort the market because the Bong paid whatever the asking price (and maybe even a premium) was to procure. He committed to far more vaccine than Canada would ever need and what that did was shut out poor countries who had to get in line AFTER Canada got their vaccine.

Last week on the international stage Canada started to get blow back critical press. The Bong who fancies hizself as the champion of the poor and dispossessed (look at his record with the natives) can’t abide negative press and immediately put on his thuperman thuit and announced the millions for the 3rd world.

Like everything he does it’s all smoke, mirrors, damage control and mirage. Phony.

  11. Letter from Aldous Huxley to George Orwell – 1949

“Whether in actual fact the policy of the boot-on-the-face can go on indefinitely seems doubtful. My own belief is that the ruling oligarchy will find less arduous and wasteful ways of governing and of satisfying its lust for power, and these ways will resemble those which I described in Brave New World. Within the next generation I believe that the world’s rulers will discover that infant conditioning and narco-hypnosis are more efficient, as instruments of government, than clubs and prisons, and that the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging and kicking them into obedience.”

  12. Dominion Voting machines confirmed to have produced fraudulent voting results:

    Full report: https://depernolaw.com/uploads/2/7/0/2/27029178/antrim_michigan_forensics_report_%5B121320%5D_v2_%5Bredacted%5D.pdf

So, the big question is, will this evidence be ignored like all the previous evidence fraud to give Biden the win and place a criminal at the helm in the US? If yes, democracy is dead. Political views aside, it is not acceptable to allow a political candidate to win by cheating. It looks like that is what is happening here, and I doubt things will be turned around after the Electoral College vote. SCOTUS has turned its back on the issue.

      1. Lawyer Sydney Powell said during her speech at the Georgia rally that she held with Lin Wood a few days ago that she has proof of the money trail from China to the families of the ones who they’ve bought off.

It is a rather large file.

It’s more proof that the election was rigged.

      2. Trump is looking kind of smug these days.
        Wonder what he knows.

“On Dec. 1, U.S. Attorney General William Barr finally confirmed what I’ve long suspected for more than a year and a half. Barr officially released a letter in which he announced that U.S. Attorney John Durham of Connecticut has been designated as a new special counsel.

The letter is dated Oct. 19, which means that for more than 40 days since Barr wrote it, nothing leaked about Durham’s increased prosecutorial powers.

And that’s not all that Barr revealed in that explosive letter. Barr also made it clear the scope of Durham’s criminal investigation had been expanded dramatically.

Durham was originally tasked with discovering how the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump ended up having a counterintelligence investigation dubbed Crossfire Hurricane started up, complete with Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) surveillance warrants that were granted based on what turned out to be fake evidence that had been concocted by political operatives working for Hillary Clinton.

But now Barr is explicitly saying this new special counsel’s office under Durham is actually investigating the last special counsel’s office, the one headed by former FBI Director Robert Mueller.”

  13. https://freenorth.news/2020/12/14/election-weeks-trudeau-liberals-call-for-16-days-of-voting-mail-in-ballots/

The Slime Minister and his henchpeople are rushing a Bill that will allow MAIL IN BALLOTS and a 16 day voting period for the next election. Think he got ideas from slow Joe? All those Dominion voting machine employees who left suddenly could find themselves newly employed with Justine. Are there any mornings you can look at the news and not go WTF? Only not opening the news can cure that. We got a Christmas card saying they are hoping for the vaccine soon. *sigh*

    1. Just before voting day Dominion received $400 million.
For now, they’re all likely on vacation in the best private resorts. I doubt whether they’ll ever work again. It’s a gift that keeps on giving. The machines will likely be manned by new hoi polloi, come the next election.

  14. The Bong, coward that he is, waits until the HoC rises before he announces his Christmas present for all Canadians – a tax increase in the form of an increase in carbon tax.

Of course it has no effect on you the taxpayer because you get a refund. He neglects to acknowledge that the tax is on absolutely every aspect of your life. Gas for your vehicle, food, home heat, GST/HST, everything you purchase and consume. Some things are subject to it multiple times.

In the middle of a badly managed response to a pandemic the fool raises taxes.
Is there anything this jackass can get right?

  15. https://richardsonpost.com/howellwoltz/19453/roberts-scotus-are-compromised/
Make of this what you will. Contains a photo of the chief justice Roberts with Bill Clinton on Epstein’s pedo island. So much of what is occurring is starting to look like a complex thriller novel, I’m having a hard time knowing what to believe anymore. It is literally impossible to tell what is legitimate any longer. You just have to approach sources on faith I guess…..just like religion.

  16. Welcome to the new reset fascist Canada. Warmington at the Toronto Sun reports on a group of mall security guards taking down someone breaking China virus rules. Also Mayor I Was Just Following Orders Tory, demands that police name and shame people and businesses that break China virus rules.

    1. Here in Edmonton, attack and humiliate the varlet as loudly and visibly as possible. That person is a public menace, a potential mass-murderer who can and will spread the disease. How dare he or she occupy the same planet as you? (sarcasm = off)

  17. No Swamp in Canada. No sirree Bob.

The cost of Libranoism continues to rise.

“The CSC project would see the construction of 15 warships for the Royal Canadian Navy at Irving Shipbuilding on the east coast. Construction of the vessels, to replace the current Halifax-class frigate fleet, isn’t expected to start until 2023. But the project has already faced delays and significant increases in cost as the price tag has climbed from an original $14 billion estimate to around $70 billion.”

“At the time, Irving spokesman Sean Lewis said while the firm respects the work of journalists, in the case of the Globe and this newspaper the company threatened legal action because the news organizations “had highly inaccurate information that would cause our company, and the reputation of our hardworking employees, considerable reputational damage.”

In the case of the Globe, Irving confirmed it had received the approximately $40 million industrial benefit credit for the French fry plant.

The incident with the Globe and Mail also revealed bureaucrats at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada had a system to alert Irving each time a journalist asked questions about AOPS.”

  18. And now another Islam celebrating Christmas story. Adolf’s CBC reports that the muslim group Boco Harem slaughtered 25 Christian villagers in Niger today. Maybe the villagers didn’t like their music. And speaking of Adolf’s CBC, Attorney General Barr had a wonderful meeting with Trump today as he submitted his resignation. The resignation letter praised Trump in a number of ways. However the CBC reported the resignation as the result of tensions between the two men.

  19. Alone in the Canadian mainstream media, the National Post is the one source of news that regularly counters the official narrative (although not anywhere near as often as it used to do). Today, criticism of the overwhelming bias in the advice given to children who think they might be transgender. Read the story before the Post is forced by the SJW mob to take it down.

“And several studies have estimated that 60 to 90 per cent of children who identify as transgender no longer want to transition by the time they’re adults, often becoming gay or lesbian.”
