  1. And yet we still pay for the leftist swill the Communist Biatch Company puts out. Still, nice to know the Liberal Party of Canada propaganda arm only reaches a tiny fraction of Canadians.

    1. *
cover this, cbc… pm care bear lied to the brittle grrr-maid

“Mr. Trudeau pledged in 2019 that the government would plant
two billion more trees by 2030, or about 200 million extra trees
      a year.”

“The Canadian Forest Service said the program has yet to be
      allocated a single dime.”

      *

      1. Neo – just where does he plan to plant these trees? Except for areas of Quebec and Ontario where forest was turned into farmland, most places suitable for trees are already forested.

    2. I admit that I watch re-runs of Downton Abbey, and the great British Baking show (the Canadian version of the Baking Show is “meh”). I did watch “A Christmas Story” last night (Gosh, it must be about 37 years old at this point in time) but I make a point of NOT watching any CBC shows.

  2. butt Harpo was afraid of de funding CBC, he should have privatized it in his first majority year, and we would have been rid of it by now, CUCKservatives is all the party of so called cons is now. Support PPC!

    1. The CBC cannot be privatized. What is a company that loses $1 billion annually worth? Auction the licenses, real estate and equipment separately. Do not allow Bell to bid on licenses.

      1. The Ottawa CBC location would be a great place for a Food Bank or a Goodwill store.
Downtown and not far from the “Action” – parliament hill. Maybe some of the beauraucrats could spent some of their spare time VOLUNTEERING there.
        Just thinkin’.

    1. Hey that would be a good use, by Freeland, of all the excess cash Canadians are hoarding in their savings and RRSPs

  3. There’s really only one thing left to do in light of this news – legally oblige Canadians to watch the CBC.

    1. Perhaps. This will be accomplished by imposing taxes on all their competition, oh wait, they have no competition in broadcast TV in Canada, only politically cloned leftist comrades also paid off by their great leader. Perhaps the CRTC will tax the shit out of all cable and internet content that isn’t the CBC. Otherwise they could send the RCMP into the homes of their enemies and clockwork orange our eyelids and tie us down and make us watch Rosie Barton metaphysically fellate the Spawn all day long but I doubt that it would make anyone like either of them more than the present. No, the Spawn’s ministry of propaganda will continue setting the tone of green and socialist activism and censorship at increasing cost and regardless of any viewership while it’s private sector clones follow suit and become more state dependent.

    2. Don’t give the idiot any ideas, he just may cancell all American channels and be done with it.

If you don’t think it can happe, just watch the idiot and his cabal.

  4. apparently there are still enough Canadians who actually watch CBC. I would not be afraid to suggest they consist of teachers and retired teachers as they have become accustomed to brainwashing

  5. Telling their stories, not ours – bastardized, politically corrected and sanitized – to nobody watching, by people nobody’s heard of.

From what I’ve seen of CBC, which is very little, the only stories they’re telling are CNN’s.

  6. Coincidence?
I had to work extra hard criticizing Trudeau to get banned from the CBC comment boards.
It took two days this time.

  7. They cancelled Don Cherry, hahaha.
“You people”, Cancel yer tv cable, that’ll starve cbc. There’s nothing but fake news on anyway. It’s all “scripted”, “produced”, msm.
Maybe get those used Aussie F18 jets in the air for the $1.5B?
    Or help vets?
Or help get clean water on reserves?
Naw the Liberals don’t want to fix anything, just blow high dough, for no rational reason but self interest.

  8. “It is time CBC TV revisits its program/audience strategy”

Heh … it could be said that it is time to revisit the money supply, as in down to 4% or 96% reduction.

    No?

  9. CBC ain’t going anywhere. Had our chance during the Harper years and blew it so now it’s here to stay. Play nice and still win stupid prizes. And in the words of Anton Chighur. ” If the rule you followed brought you to this…of what use was the rule?”
The good news? No one watches it.

  10. CBC is the definition of Government help and services.
    Enjoy.
    The other ,25% of what?
Dare they show the real numbers.
1 of the 4 crusted on CBC drooling watchers up and died?

    1. Government helps itself and serves itself. The official broadcaster believes it is an arm of government.

  11. Man oh Man!

Wait till Pinky (RMC-RCAF) O’Toole hears about this!

He’ll immediately be holding a press conference and demanding the abolition of the CBC!

He’ll hear about it any day now …
    Soon …
    Maybe before Christmas…
    2022 …

  12. Harper did the right thing by ignoring the cbc. What was the upside to creating an uproar to appeal to a tiny portion of his base?
If he announced he was defunding it would have sparked an outrage to ‘save the cbc’. A campaign would have immediately been formed and invigorated the moribund corpse. It’s better to let it die the horrible death it is experiencing.

The end is not far off. The employees have now fallen upon each other in an internal civil war over decisions management have embarked upon. They are experiencing the same thing pro sports have found themselves in, an indifferent disinterested audience. Their product no longer resonates. This means diminished advertising revenue. No money no funny.

When the reckless profligate spending habits of their hero finally catch up to the reality of the country there will be no funds to keep the corpse alive. There is no audience for them to make their case and their pleas will fall upon the deaf ears of a new government. The millennials who have never even heard of them but will have to pay increased taxes to pay for this nonsense will not be sympathetic.

    1. ” Harper did the right thing by ignoring the cbc. What was the upside to creating an uproar to appeal to a tiny portion of his base?”

Wrong. He made two BIG mistakes:
      (a) appointing well-known grifter Duffy to the Senate, and
      (b) failing to nut and gut the CBC.

The REAL influence of the CBC isn’t the relatively small ovine chunk of the population that regularly tunes in, but rather, the large percentage of hourly, daily and weekly news outlets that use the parasites as their prime opinion source.

Their influence FAR exceeds their audience.

      1. I agree with you re Duffy.

As much as I have no use for the cbc making the decision to get rid of them would expend a terrific amount of political capital.

Conservatives never have that kind of capital available because they only form government in Canada when the electorate finally tires of the libranos. It would be nice if it could happen but it is just to risky politically. It’s politics after all.

Choking the cbc of funds is about as good as any conservative government can reasonably expect.

As the independent media exert their influence the cbc will diminish. You can already see it happening.

  13. I did the arithmetic. English CBC gets 3.9% of the 617.8 million hours of TV watched annually in Canada from all sources. That is 24 million hours.
There are 30 million (roughly) English speaking Canadians (ESC). That works out to 48 minutes per *year* per ESC. 48 minutes per year is just less than 8 seconds per day.
That’s barely enough time to say ‘good morning’ and ‘good night’.

  14. Perhaps the CBC should be maintained. As the consumate example of government stupidity!
I’m sure everyone can come up with examples of how they distort or ignore what IS ACTUALLY news! It could become a sub topic on TRUE NORTH or maybe Ezra’s REBEL NEWS.
Maybe we could ridicule them to death!
I understand CBC is now spelling women or woman with an ‘x’ or a ‘y’ in place of the ‘a’ or the ‘o’ or something. (I must look that up but I read it somewhere just a few days back.) If someone were to stand outside of the CBC doors and take them to task, or maybe just with a phone call or flood their emails, and daily, question their stupidity, hey whats the worst that could happen!! Maybe the Chairmxn would have to be a Canadian and actually reside in Canada? Maybe?? She may have to curtail her flights back and forth between New York and Ottawa. (Yeah, that New York!)
Is it time to get creatve?
I did quit donating to the CPC when Harper refused to cut the SOBs but this could be fun. Maybe we can get proactive!

  15. Dont watch ANY TV news. They dont tell you anything by lies, lies and more lies.
Get your news from The Rebel or True North. I havent watched any TV news or listened to any radio for almost a year and I know More about what is really going on in the world without those liars.
Too bad Harper didnt have the gonads to make them go public and off the taxpayers tit…that and he didnt stack the Senate with Conservatives.

    1. “Dont watch ANY TV news. They dont tell you anything by lies, lies and more lies.”

I have to agree, sadly. There is reason that journalists, on the list of trusted professions, have just been ranked at fourth from the bottom on a list of 30 or so professions…about 23% trusted. I just came from a fruitless search for a “racist remark” supposedly made by an anti-mack activist about a Dr. Shabab who works for the Saskatchewan government. I only took notice of the story because people were slamming Scott Moe for not reacting ‘properly’ (or promptly) and yet the actual remark itself wasn’t reported, and we all know how the left loves to blow things out of proportion. Sure enough, a search reveals all the usual Canadian MSM outlets reporting the story BUT NOT the remark. So…we’re just supposed to take their word for it, now?

The CBC, as of right now at 2:50 PM on Monday, seems to have completely ignored this story. Gee, what a shock…

  16. I did the math also… The bottom row shows total million (hours) of viewing. Last year showed 717.8 million hours. If divided by “non-francophone population” of 30 million – that works out to 24 hours per Canadian per year. Now that hockey is available on other channels, my viewing is 0 hours per year…

    Is my calculation incorrect?

  17. It’s almost impossible to get rid of a government broadcaster.

In Britain, you’re obliged to pay a $200 yearly “TV License” to pay for the BBC. If you don’t pay, they send snoops to your door and take you to court.

More and more Brits are refusing to pay, but the Conservative government hasn’t done anything to abolish the TV License, or make the BBC a subscription service like Netflix.

  18. I cut the cable several years ago now and don’t have an over air TV either. I find I am much better informed about matters than my friends who still watch TV. No I don’t read newspapers either although I sometimes poke fun at the newspaper opinion writers on Twitter. I find the Can’tadian media so biased as to be a joke and for several years before I cut the cable I refused to watch any of the news programs/cable news networks Can’tadian, American or British.
