  1. Amazing how they now have four valid dating techniques. The history of our species becomes more clear every year.

  2. With our species being 2.3 million years old, they may still be finding older ones outside Africa as time goes on.
Funny, our species has been around that long without Marxist/Leninist healthcare. But in the last 50 years we have it in our heads we cannot survive without it.

    1. CBC = crickets. Too busy telling us Biden will win because they believe he should. No other evidence but hearsay interviews.

  3. So many “scientists” are so far into the single spread from Africa idea of human prehistory that they keep being proved foolish. So much evidence does not fit that hypothesis, but it is the dominant paradigm so people squeeze the evidence and hypothesis into bizarre directions to fit the evidence. Instead we should be looking at a more complicated idea, of rise of slightly more advanced civilisations that then spread and fall, leaving only the most equivocal evidence but pushing spread of humanity in directions that cannot be explained by “out of Africa”. It is a far more rational idea of pre-history.

They were human, we know what humans can (and do) do. They were living with more primitive technology, they were not stupid or different in character to modern humans. We should expect complex patterns of settlements rising and falling, with a gradual rise over time in the heights to which each advances before falling, spreading their slightly higher learning and tech, until there is a regional fall. This is how life works.

    1. the gulf and the Mediterranean have lots of rises and falls that allow for migration along coastal plains far out from the current coast lines. following herds and the ebb and flow of life without borders.

  4. Kate, I like your site but citing an article written in 2018 (close to 3 years ago) is not exactly “hold-the presses” new news.
