Things You’ll Never See On The CBC

True North;

In recent years, CBC has faced a significant decline in viewership and ad revenue. In 2019, only 0.8% of Canadians tuned into local CBC TV evening news broadcasts, with CBC only holding 5% of market share.

In a statement to True North, Senator Housako said that the government needs to reconsider the purpose of the CBC if the public consistently chooses other news sources.

  1. I watch Global News. There are times when they approach impartiality, at least more than any other network.

    1. What are you smoking and where can I get some?
I mistakenly watched them for Dear Leader’s early Covid love-ins. Right after Nirmala Naidoo and Dawna Friesen were going on how Dear Leader was so decisive and Orange Man so dropped the ball.
Global is nothing more than Jerry Diaz’s (UNIFOR) propaganda arm. Lying is all the do. They cannot even report on a flower show without propagandising it.

  2. Who wants to watch the Libranos and Trudeau’s propaganda arm? They’re usually pretty slick, I’ll give them that. Billions of dollars worth of slick B.S. and mostly important for what they don’t say.

  3. There we go ……………. Another fake conservative stealing (again) from the PPC’s platform. Clowns like Andrew Scheer who claim to be “principled conservatives” but never laid a platform, any values or principles actually play on the “low info” levels of most Canadians. I remember Scheer said he’d like to see “more Cdn content” on the CBC. LOL.

ONLY the PPC articulated on its platform if it becomes the govt, it will defund the CBC, review its mandate and let it compete with other networks for advertisers, etc.

  4. The Canadian government would be wise to take the billions they pour into CBC and bribe Goolag and FakeBook to further promote a leftist agenda. Then again….maybe they already do.

  5. Today on the CBC’s Political Scum Show the Unifor journalists discussed how “Settler” lobster fishermen are being mean to indians. Indians must be allowed to fish whenever the hell they want.

    1. This is why diversity by government is a scam.
Our native population gets special privileges by the federal government that everyone else do not.
If they were serious, then Trudeau would integrate everyone.
Just like our Premier Ford is now in power…tic, tic, tic, tic, And again nothing changes in government, they just get worse.
Mind you, these special privileges are starting to show when they choose which business or companies get exemptions from regulations or government grants.
Buy Canadian or Ontario is another global scam.

    2. I challenge anyone who uses words like “settler”.

      I am not a “settler”. I am a citizen. I pay taxes.

If we don’t challenge the vocabulary, we have ceded victory in the debate.

      1. ‘Settler’ means those flown in as ‘refugees’ who fill hotels whilst the locals can’t house the home grown homeless.

    3. When they use no gasoline to get out there, and there are no plastic or metal parts on the boats or the traps, I agree that they should.

Otherwise they’re Canadians and need to follow the Canadian rules.

      1. Many years ago, met someone who had worked up the west coast back in the day. At that time, Indians were allowed to take all the salmon they wanted but they had to use strictly traditional methods. This person was invited to watch and found it fascinating but – like all non-natives – was not allowed to participate.

In those days, the Indians still ate a lot of traditional foods, including oolichan grease. The oolichan is a small oily fish, and the Indians would harvest them whenever they gathered in large enough schools. The fish would then be placed into a derelict canoe and left to rot, while the oil (or grease) would be skimmed off or otherwise collected. Apparently most west coast Indian food was very good but there was a limit; for my friend, oolichan grease was that limit. Interesting that oolichan grease is being collected again as part of a move back to more traditional foods; the carbohydrate-rich diet so beloved by Health Canada seriously does not agree with the native metabolism. Actually don’t think it agrees with any metabolism; know a vet who refers to it as the “feed lot diet”.

    4. I wonder how natives(Siberians) caught lobster in the “traditional” way. Lobster are generally a deep water creature. I doubt they were speared, or caught by diving on them.. Just a random thought.

  6. When I use my rowing machine I turn on the TV and choose between CNN, CBC and CTV because they all piss me off.

  7. The days of “for profit” journalists are numbered. Anyone with a cellphone or a tablet and an internet can keep up on everything faster and more efficiently than some hack journalist in a public secor union. Does anyone even buy cable anymore? With streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime (and a hodt of other providers) I no longer need to sit through the rubbish on public broadcasters to get what I want to watch.

Western countries now have severe problems looming. The baby-bust, coupled with crippling debt and taxes and sh1tty weather means the best and brightest will soon be choosing more amenable locales to live and work from.

    1. I canceled Netflix. I don’t support kiddie porn. Turns out Crave is not so bad. I am on day 4 of my free trail 7 day trial.

  8. The CBC exclusively exists as welfare for the majority of the organized members of the institutional left masquerading as journalists as well as serving as the echo chamber for the drones who support their politics. As a national broadcaster, It has been a redundancy since cable and satellite technology emerged and the fact that their private sector clones used to and still would survive without stolen taxpayer loot. It should be sold off as real estate and equipment as it’s toxic culture is already over-represented by the other three networks.

  9. Senate hearings about CBC viewership? Brace yourself for the conclusion that the CBC needs more money from the taxpayer.

  10. 0.8% So high?
I bet the Burning Log gets more visitors than CBC.
CBC should be handed over to the homeless, these needy citizens require shelter with another long cold winter coming on and what better use of citizen owned real estate.
And LEAVE the equipment in place,as the drunken ramblings and flatulence of the resident wino’s will still make more sense than the omission laden narrative of the current occupants.

  11. News is something I’ll never again see on CBC. I boycotted them after their partisan debacle of 2015, not a minute since.
But ever if I were to watch, from what I’ve been told and experienced in the past, I still wouldn’t see any news.

    1. My disaffection for CBC was a slow process, starting in the early 1980s. I couldn’t stand listening to old favourite shows that had to be meddled with such as Morningside (which was fun when Don Harron was the host), As It Happens (which wasn’t the same after Barbara Frum left, though I preferred it when it was a Monday only live-to-air show in the early days), whatever Sunday Morning mutated into, and, finally Quirks and Climate Change (or was it Climate Change and Quarks?).

CBC Stereo/Radio 2/Music went the same way, starting in the mid-1990s. After CBC had its lockout about 15 years ago, its Saturday afternoon opera programming wasn’t great as host Howard Dyck and his producer/sidekick Warren Wilson were canned and replaced by the insufferable Bill Richardson. Mercifully, he left after a few years and retired operatic tenor Ben Heppner took over.

If CBC was finally closed down for good, I will miss the Saturday Metropolitan Opera broadcasts.

  12. The CBC is and always has been a department of the Liberal Party of Canada.

It’s losing whatever it once had because no one is interested in listening to a full slate of Trump hate along with all sorts of communist horse shit.

We are still a free flock of sheep … at least for a little longer eh? We were once wolves, but the modern liberal world softened us up and now we have no balls.
