  1. Isn’t this the same institution that hired an ex Chretien aide to teach law?
If it is then they get marks for consistency.

    1. A Trudeau to teach ethics.
      A Chamberlain to teach courage
      A Napolean to teach geography
      A Stalin to teach magnaminity
      A Lysenko to teach biology
      A Suzuki to teach weather
A Greta Thunberg to teach dispassionate disputation
An Epstein to teach knot making

As an aside, I enjoy this sort of list making; I read Rabelais at an early age. You’ve got to love the walls of Paris (or was it Byzantium) if you know what I mean.

          1. People like you who don’t think Trump is a blithering idiot are knuckleheads. That is so obvious but your kind are too stupid to realize that. Debating with your kind is a waste of time but since I have the time, I don’t mind wasting it.

  2. it seems that many of the university teachers have their heads stuck up their collective asses, however unlikely that may actually be.

Note if you say anything like that you are anti intellectual as though the are intellectuals. Rather they are intellectualists a very big difference.

    1. If they’re going to insist we avoid our choice of pronouns based on a person’s genitalia, I’m prepared to “give an inch” and call them all assholes. That’s a lot easier to remember, and there’s no chance of hurting anyone’s feelings because everybody’s got one.

      1. Hahaha ha … except … in many of these cases … the oddly-pronouned people have so thoroughly deformed and destroyed their sphincters … that they can hardly be recognized as common assholes. Just ask any ER Doctor.

    2. A head stuck up their arse, however difficult a position physically, is more tenable than the positions they adopt philosophically.

  3. On the subject of pronouns:

Garrett Foster was shot dead at a BLM riot in Austin Texas after pointing his rifle at a car.
His pronouns are ‘was’ and ‘were’.

  4. LOL, I initially read this as TAMMY Mayberry and was briefly puzzled by the famous I, Napoleon tag.

Migawd, implicit bias is a thing after all.
Where and to whom do I report?

  5. It.
    Thing.
    Moron.
Are the pronouns that immediately spring to mind.
As I have said before,if you are unable to make a simple binary decision,I am not interested in your opinion.
Or as a few Americans put it,They don’t know which washroom to use,but they want to take our guns?
The collapse of these institutions, victims of the “Long March, has been a long time coming.
Now they proudly proclaim their irrelevance and poseur status, pretending to be “Centres of Education” as they are crushed by the University of Hard Knocks.
I am certain they will religiously deny and decry reality unto their last breathe.

  6. De-fund kindergarten to PhD.

The government education system is obviously a failure, it trains instead of educates and develops cynical thinking instead of critical thinking.

It would be impossible to have so many people believe so much crap about politics, religion, science, the environment, etc. without this failed system.

  7. I don’t know who said it but truer words were never spoken – An insanely tiny segment of society consisting of some very disturbed individuals are dictating its terms to the rest of us.
Sadly for Vice Chancellor and Chief Enabler, Bill Flanagan, a 9% Provincial funding cut just wasn’t a big enough message for him.

Heh…good to know that the words of the prophets are no longer the sole domain of subway walls. Nice bit of pushback coming from alumnus and others below the announcement.
    More please.

    1. No they are not dictating terms. They are screeching to a media that amplifies their message that the restof us either mock or tune out.

  8. As I posted before, based on a survey of nearly 10 million people (conducted for a different purpose, the efficacy of “trans” surgery, but they came up with the numbers) trans constitute 0.0275%, with 0.01% actually undergoing surgery.

  9. Personally I love this. There is no better explanation of what’s going on at U Alberta than that picture. To the paying customer, that says it all.

A lot of parents looking for a place to send Junior will see that and make their decisions accordingly. It isn’t even mean or unfair. It’s literally just what they’re actually doing.

    1. ” … lot of parents looking for a place to send Junior will see that and make their decisions accordingly”

Wish you were right Phantom. But parents who made no effort to correct or counter the 12 plus years of indoctrination their kids suffered in the state’s school systems (the vast majority) are very unlikely to experience an epiphany once their brainwashed little illiterates are at the university gates.

      1. I was thinking more that they’d pay attention for the first time when they understood that their Little Timmy is going to have -that- for an instructor.

People have tipping points, you know? And that right there is going to be a big one for a lot of middle aged parents. The more people see that, the more of them are going to quietly send their kid to a different school.

Remember, parents -pay- for university. Its not free, like high school. When people have to pay money, their criteria for selection changes significantly.

    2. I stopped contributing to this university, my alma mater, a few years back and will also ask to be removed from all their mailings.

  10. What would have been a typically funny Monty Python skit fifty years ago is now reality in the “Humanities” departments of the modern university. It’s where sick societies send their youth when choosing the form of their destroyers. De-fund them all and replace them with Library Cards.

  11. The U of A was once a good university.
Its motto is “Whatsoever things are true”. (Unless they have cancelled that for being a biblical quote).
In fact, they should cancel that and replace it with “whatsoever things are false”
    Think on these things.
I am cancelling my alma mater.

  12. U of A is my alma mater and I was a regular donor to a couple of projects, but this, along with a lot of other mis-steps by the University and seemingly support (or at least no comment) from my faculty and department means that my donations are gone. I will be donating to Hillsdale College in the US – which since the 1830s has carried out its mission and principles. It admitted women and blacks decades before the big guys and they will not bow to the current cancel culture. I don’t know if I get a tax receipt for the donation and I really don’t care. I want my donations to mean something.

All should consider where they put their donations and if you decide to start to stop donating to an organization, you need to be clear with them why.

    1. That’s where my donations go. My alma mater calls and emails regularly for money, and I feel sorry for the kid at the end of the phone after I give a polite “no”.

  13. Sigh!
If it Quacks like a Duck……We have now reached, it ducks like a quack!

It went from a soft quiet pretty please, can I step out of the closet? To, YOU WILL DAMN WELL USE MY PREFERRED PRONOUN OR ELSE!!!! All in about what? Ten years. It’s coming at us so fast now, we can’t keep up! For me, if you look like a male, I’ll refer to you as a male, and the same if you look like a female. If I’m not sure, or I can’t decide, depending on your manner and disposition, and providing you don’t have a giant chip on your shoulder, I might reserve judgement and just be polite. No way, will I ever use anything associated with peculiar or weird gender terms, and if you don’t like it, you can just STFU! and FO! Cuz I really, REALLY, don’t care!

  14. Buried lede: St. Jerome’s University is an Roman Catholic college affiliated with the University of Waterloo. I got my minor in Classical Studies there, where I was taught by scholastic priests wearing full cassock and collar.

I stopped donating to U(W) long ago, but if this….creature has emerged from St. Jerome’s they’re off my list as well.

    1. Yes, this is what St Jerome’s has come to, sorry to say. As an alumnus of four universities (3 Canadian and 1 in the USA), I give nothing to any of them but my sad regrets.

If you valued the Catholic higher education you received, please consider donating to 1) Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College (Barry’s Bay, ON); 2) Catholic Pacific College (Langley, BC); 3) Newman Theological College (Edmonton, AB). They are authentically Catholic and authentically educational.

    1. Until a generation of psychiatrists who insisted that Christianity was the only genuine mental illness helped a generation of lawyers turn an army of dangerous nutters loose. That included the homosexuals, recognized to be lunatics until well into the 1960’s.

Today it’s only possible to lock up a madman AFTER he’s succeeded in harming innocent people.

You’ll know we’ve turned the corner when Tommy’s long-suffering next of kin is free to sign the paperwork required to commit Tommy to the asylum, never to stir up trouble in the outside world again.

  15. At least one could make the argument that they (parents and students) nominally paid for this horsehit.

But what’s really sad is that our soldiers, nurses, cops, etc, etc, have to (a) endure this crap (sensitivity training), and (b) we’re playing for it.

  16. Communist tyrranies try to redefine history and society; now they have become more ambitious and strive to redefine biology. I think it’s an unstated, unconscious, attempt to legalize pedophilia.

  17. If provincial governments stopped funding the Marxist aspects of education, balancing budgets would be a realistic goal faster than they imagine.

Public support would side with courageous politicians refusing to bow to an irrational fear of Marxist madness, twitter mobs and media perfidy.

Our pioneers and sons of pioneers faced down every danger, every enemy and persevered.
Current politicians tremble at attacks from a twitter mob.

Without political leadership, there would have been no Canada.
Without political leadership, there will no longer be a Canada.

  18. history tells us many societies have suffered gross general lapses of judgement. i couldn’t care less if the flat earth society wants to promote a point of view; however, IF lapse in judgement occurs because public funds are used to promote marginal agendas, then i get to say, ‘ideas are subject to competition in a large market and gain/lose traction when based on rational application.’ good luck with your idea!

i have plenty of crackpot ideas that require funding, why does everybody discriminate against me and when can i expect some compensation for all my suffering?

how many individuals actually think that irrationality can be sustained or is this just another goofy footnote? i also have some really neat tulip bulbs for sale – AND i am willing to trade for them for a home on the prairies! 🙂

  19. Less than 1% of the passionate and outspoken

    Will rule the apathetic 99%

    100% of the time.
