For two very very intelligent people, that red pill is a slow digestion.
They were/are still liberals.
That indicates a certain lack of intelligence.
They just can’t stop from constantly equivocating. The rioters, with the city’s consent, are fighting a war (yes, a war), and these two academics are trying to discuss it like there’s some kind of reasonable explanation to be found. When mobs resort to coercion and violence, then reason and logic no longer hold any sway. You can’t reason with a pack of wolves as they’re chewing on your guts. We’re seeing that politics really is just war by other means being demonstrated in real time.
I expect the rioters have a meeting each morning with their paymasters and other political enablers to discuss what next. Riots are rarely spontaneous.

These two people are meticulously stating the blatantly obvious in what seems like slow motion torture. The institutional left is acting out in a coordinated fashion mostly directed against the federal government and its “illegitimate” Trump regime. Only the Democrats are legitimately “allowed” to govern in today’s America. This is what passes for thought in the sewers of academia and it is in ascendancy all over the west.
Find their chats long and winding road to nowhere fast.
Think that they are doing it for archival purposes.
The guy, watched his previous videos including when he was confronted at the institution where the mob demanded he resigns, is more than less sympathetic to the same mob.
He talks like he should be really, really admired for his intellectual meanderings.
