    1. Or Ceaușescu him. Summary trial immediately followed by execution. Same effect. No lamp post.

        1. Cut and paste. Way too many vowels to attempt spelling. I normally ignore all the doodads when writing in English.

  1. I wonder if the mayor is smart enough to realize that fireworks can burn things down and kill people.

    1. I wonder if that mayor cares. That’s always been New York’s problem – Tammany Hall is there.

  2. I’d prefer seeing a large crowd of festive revelers firing Roman candles at the mansion. Like 1,000 revelers … firing thousands of Roman candles … horizontally … at the mansion. Just like is happening everywhere else in the city.

  3. Indeed it is the city they voted for and it’s important we as Canadians never forget that lesson when it comes to local politics.
De Blasio crushed his Republican mayoral opponent by a fairly wide margin running on a platform of higher taxes (I’m not kidding) and a not so thinly veiled anti police platform which makes these latest NYC goings on particularly schadenfreude delicious.
And before we get all weak in the knees over how hard done by NYC cops are…they were all anti De Blasio over the “stop and frisk” program which he stopped, but their union got all gooey when De Blasio promised to look at an outstanding and a very contentious backpay issue. So they were all cool with him . *Sigh*…it’s always about the money.

Which brings me to Brooklyn’s Williamsburg, Crown Heights and Borough Park districts featuring the largest concentration of Jews other than Israel and where Di Blasio managed to capture almost 80% of the vote only because Bill promised among other things that he’d look at easing certain circumcision restrictions initially banned by city, the disgusting details of which I’m not going to go into only to say that it’s true…some Rabbis actually do this.
And he rewarded them by singling them out during the Covid restrictions and welding shut Hasidic playgrounds just to drive the point home. So there you go.

So yeah, everyone gets the government they deserve. But you know what? They’ll do it all again at the federal level when the 2020 election comes around.
    Idiots.

  4. Yeah, they demonstrate now, but they’ll vote Dim at the presidential election and continue electing corrupt, criminal Dims locally. Screw ’em if they can’t take a joke.
