Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

All the news that’s fit to trigger:

In a note to the Opinion staff Sunday, Ms. Kingsbury, who declined to comment for this article, said that until a more “technical solution” is in place, anyone who sees “any piece of Opinion journalism — including headlines or social posts or photos or you name it — that gives you the slightest pause, please call or text me immediately.”

Senator Cotton’s Op-Ed prompted criticism on social media from many Times employees from different departments, an online protest that was led by African-American staff members. Much of the dissent included tweets that said the Op-Ed “puts Black @NYTimes staff in danger.” Times employees objected despite a company policy instructing them not to post partisan comments on social media or take sides on issues in public forums.

In addition, more than 800 staff members had signed a letter by Thursday evening protesting the Op-Ed’s publication. The letter, addressed to high-ranking editors in the opinion and news divisions, as well as New York Times Company executives, argued that Mr. Cotton’s essay contained misinformation, such as his depiction of the role of “antifa” in the protests.

  1. I look forward to watching Tom Cotton take the presidential oath of office in January 2025 while President Trump looks on.

I look forward as well to hearing no further complaint from the New York Times, because there is no New York Times—or if there is, it’s been reduced to a shambolic website based in Red China.

Who knows? Maybe Tom will be the one who finally liberates Chinada Province and fulfills the manifest destiny of the United States.

  2. This is gorgeous, irony, stupidity laid on so thick..

You cannot make this kind of nonsense up.
Now why would one write Opinion pieces,if they fail to give one pause?
If they fail to cause you to,no matter how briefly, consider the writers POV,then opinion is worthless.
In an amazing twist Mzz Kingsbury has told all who still support this Media, not to bother.
Dear Lefties,as we will no longer print anything that might provoke you to actually think, please concentrate on the voices in your heads.
    Not those voices!
The other voices, the ones that agree with the narrative.
    Nice Sheeple.

  3. I read Senator Cotton’s Op Ed!
Maybe it’s just me, but there was nothing to provoke the snowflakes that I could see! Jeeze, what is wrong with these idiots? Why would any sane Mayor, person, or business owner wish for their city, their livelihoods, their property to be destroyed? I understand peaceful protest, and this ain’t it! This is deliberate wanton destruction, coordinated and arranged I’m sure, and probably paid for by Soros and his ilk. These so called protesters, and I’m sure there are a bunch of real ones, who should have stayed away knowing Antifa and looters would take full advantage of this “Protest”. These so called protesters, such as rioters, and Antifa, are deliberate in their attempts to bring Trump down, and the looters are thugs just taking advantage of the opportunity! It is tragic that George Floyd died, and maybe the cop was a thug, I don’t know, but right or wrong, they have been arrested, charged, and remain in custody. BLM uses any flimsy excuse to call out racism, even if only one cop was white, they just hate white people, and look for any reason to protest.
So why does the now worldwide protest continue? I think it continues because Floyd was the catalyst, but Trump derangement syndrome is the real reason. Order needs to be brought back to the fore, and if it needs a military intervention then so be it! Trudeau, and these idiot Mayors and some police as well, are simply pandering to the mob, and no good will come from it!

    1. I agree. Even though everyone might not agree with the opinions expressed, Cotton’s piece did not contain misinformation. Shutting down public dialogue as these journalists are doing is simply making news media more irrelevant. They will not have jobs soon. Noone is interested in reading one-sided propaganda.

  4. Translation: Every opinion from the NYT will from now on be unfailingly woke.

If I were one of the few centrist or conservative columnists for the NYT (and yes, there are a few), I would keep my resume up to date.

  5. Would it be the call to remove lawbreakers that got their shorts in a knot?
That would be an admission that the staff at the NY Times either sees nothing wrong with the law breaking in progress or that they know in reality the law breakers are the protesters.
Cotton not once made that connection, they did.
