20 Replies to “Callous Disregard”

  1. Breaking:

Chinese “canadians” sold off their AR-15 and M14 accessories way ahead of the ban. How had they known?

It is Chinada and Khanada now. What do we call USA? US of China?

  2. What is the one thing these States all have in common?

Hmmmm. Perhaps I will have to ask PM Blackie-blackface at his new home work site:

  3. They can add UK to the list (or “NHS” as it seems to be called now, judging by the flags (prime minister is Piers Morgan)).

    1. I was listening to a Hoover Institution interview with PJ O’Rourke … who said his children have nicknamed the CHICOM-19 virus as … “Boomer Remover”.

    1. I think there is a nuance there. People willing to be informed are questioning ‘science’ from a socialist’s world view, whereas socialists appear to be content with indoctrinationly tinged ‘science’ skewed, again, to their world view.

  4. PA and MI are important states for the upcoming election, no? Could they really be that callous as to try and run up the body count to hurt Trump’s re-election?

    1. Maybe, but there’s a whole lot of anger toward that woman in our state. She’s digging a deep hole here with her policies.
Unfortunately it was the Republicans that passed that stimulus that enabled most workers to sit home on their ass and get a better paycheck than usual so that makes it easier for her to keep the shutdowns longer. If we were only getting our $390 a week, there would be screaming and wailing to get back to work, not just shouting.

      1. Agreed. Puerto Rico ran into financial difficulties because their policies made it more lucrative to stay at home rather than work for low wages. Infrastructure suffered and the island was unable to weather a natural disaster.

  5. Here in Minnesota, we have been able to suppress the Chinese Coronavirus fairly well, except in the Twin Cities itself, and several out state meat packing plants. Sadly, most of the fatalities have occurred in our Nursing Homes, and other Congregant Living Facilities. 464 of our 578 deaths have been in nursing homes, right at 80% of the dead, day after day. One nursing home had 47 deaths alone.

  6. Almost all deaths via Chinese flu, have occurred in one nursing home in Nova Scotia. Sickening, where the hello was the provincial response to the epidemic? Why didn’t they have designated Chinese flu centers so the elderly could be removed from the nursing home. From what I can glean from the news is they left them in the home to die. I see people blaming the home, how is it their responsibility why were they left in the home and not moved to ICU or a pandemic center. Most nursing homes have long waiting lists, the fact is they have no spare space to form isolation wards or wings-it is suppose to be the province that provides healthcare not the nursing homes. I hope when this is over the feds and provinces are investigated for their failure to protect our elderly during a pandemic.

    1. Rose, just like with anything else the government does, it will be long drawn out, ineffective and costly. In short, the government will pay lip service to the elderly that it put in harm’s way and forget the matter.

  7. How about intentional disregard as opposed to callous disregard, of course they could be synonymous.

  8. It’s good to see that they are tracking down the written policies in some states, so we can at least hope for some transparency and accountability in those cases.

I haven’t seen anyone track down written policies but I believe in practice at least Ontario and Quebec did exactly the same things as New York, with very similar results. I’ve heard stories of nursing homes in Ontario trying to get people tested and even sending swabs to labs but the province refusing. Second only to hospitals themselves, the most important place to have proper infection control and quarantining procedures in place was in nursing homes.

It appears public health authorities were too busy preventing healthy people going to public parks to worry about infected people in nursing homes. Absolutely scandalous.

    1. Ontario’s policy is that if you try to remove your relative to safety for the duration of the virus, they will not guarantee the bed be kept…. all said knowing that prior to the virus there was a waiting list.

Right now we’re sending out teams from the hospitals and heath units to all the retirement homes and LTC’s to check up on them. We just ask questions from a questionnaire and report the answers, don’t actually verify anything. The Province has yet to act on any of the findings.

  9. BC Public health officials seemed pretty pleased that they had cleared a ton of hospital beds in late March. I wonder if they used care homes too? I read another article that they were doing that in England. It seemed like the thing to do, but perhaps hindsight says bad idea.

  10. There is a huddle of the media cartel as you read this, how to tie it to the guy that refuses to submit and play along.

    You saw it here first
