  2. Kate, with your permission. I hope I am not abusing the privileges. I would provide the link but I cannot find it on Sloan’s page.

This is the statement I have received from Derek Sloan, regarding the current gun grab by Blackie. He is running for the conservative leadership and has my vote. I am copying it here in its entirety. I posted it in the gun grab thread but this got buried on the second page and will probably not get noticed.

“Once again, Justin Trudeau is pouncing on an opportunity to push his ideological agenda in making major changes to firearms policy that won’t make Canadian safer, but will increase state invasiveness into the lives of law-abiding citizens.

Justin Trudeau is using a national tragedy to scapegoat law-abiding gun owners.

Team Trudeau has made it clear throughout this pandemic that they don’t respect the essential democratic role of Parliament.

Now they are using the current pandemic and the immediate emotion of the horrific attack in Nova Scotia to push through policy that won’t receive the scrutiny it deserves.

The RCMP has made it clear that the Nova Scotia shooter did not have a firearms license, so all of his guns were illegal.

Seizing firearms from Canadians who obey the law does nothing to stop dangerous criminals who obtain their guns illegally.

Money used in any buy-back effort would be better spent on support for police and anti-gang units, action against rural crime and policing our borders to stop the smuggling of the illegal weapons that are used in most gun crimes in Canada.

I believe that the ownership and use of firearms for protection is a civil right, and I will approach all firearms legislation guided by that principle.

I will conduct a complete review of the Firearms Act and related regulations to safeguard the right of firearms owners to their private property. Legislation that has not proven to be beneficial to public safety should be repealed.

Like any real Conservative, I’m committed to firearms legislation that ensures Canadians remain safe and secure in their homes and communities, not opportunistic gun grabs that concentrate more power in the hands of the state.

If you agree, please consider supporting me as I stand for Conservatism, without apology.”

    1. Thank you Colonialista.
      Just bought a membership
Don’t want to see another Sheer-stupidity win over a Max-wouldabeenlightyearsbetter principled conservative.
We don’t need some other media whipped meow meow please!

      1. Can…. I have been supporting Max since the start. Canadians do not want a truly conservative anything. They will never elect a government that does not embrace socialism. The current cons, libs, ndp, block heads, greens are all socialists, and so are over 65% of all Canadians.

      2. Thanks for that, he needs all the help he can get. When Maxipad run for Conservative leadership I supported him and donated. Donated to Derek too. Hopefully the base Max betrayed have stayed with the party and we can change things. One thing Derek got that Maxipad does not is that Derek speaks English… and is not from Kebek… and is a stable family man.

    2. If Canadians were not cowards they would refuse to comply. The lock down has proven that we will take anything and take as much as required.

    3. What do we know about this Sloan guy ? I agree he is starting to make all the right noises. I got an email from him this morning about sex conversion therapy for children and how he is against it as well.

I’d be interested in knowing more if anyone has any relevant (non official/vetted) info.

I have no interest in chinless Peter or Erin the Tool. But this Sloan guy might spark enough interest in me to sign up the CPC again. Might.

      1. He is from my part of the country and I know nothing about him. Usually I am tuned in to most of them.

  3. Trudeau has now announced a ban on assault type weapons using the latest mass killing in Nova Scotia and the decades old Quebec Polytechnique murders as a reason for punishing innocent gun owners.

Great tactics that Justin most likely learned from his Dad. It takes to focus off the real problems that are facing Canadians today, especially in the throes of Covid-19. I remember the October Crisis when Trudeau called in the army and arrested and incarcerated hundreds of innocent Quebecois, most that had never been near or attended any event that involved the FLQ or any other separatist movement. Yet in the end, those terrorists who had indeed participated in the actual kidnapping of James Cross and the murder of Pierre Laporte were never brought to justice, but given free transport to Cuba where they were greeted with open arms by one of Trudeau best friends, Fidel Castro.

Now the same scenario from his son and a government that’s in a minority situation. But guess what people. It worked. Very little talk on the news tonight about the millions of N-95 respirators that are still needed. Very little talk about seniors that were left to die in cut rate senior homes in Eastern Canada. And very little talk about the the people who are losing their jobs and businesses every day. And last but not least, very little talk about a cure or immunization for Covid-19.

    Sunny Ways! Sunny Ways!

    1. I remember the October Crisis when Trudeau called in the army

Earlier today, I was chatting with someone in a grocery store line-up. I mentioned that Dear Leader Prinz Dummkopf the Supremely Magnificent’s gun grab is his “Just watch me” moment and we know how that turned out. It wasn’t just that the FLQers got away with what they did, but that the country’s civil liberties were suspended. It was considered to be so serious that the principal of the junior high school I was attending at the time announced it over the PA system that day.

      Like father, like son.

      1. Everytime there is a PM from PQ he gives us grief.
It’s no different with the King of the Wild Frontier,
        Justin Noguns Trudeau.
With the old man and his October Crisis we were afraid.
        People died.
With the Son and his Covid Crisis we’re afraid. People died.
Ain’t no sunny ways. Just funny days… and not so funny days.

    2. Yeah, its true that Peeair imposed the War Measures act and it is also true that he suspended Canadians civil liberties and rounded up many innocent Quebecers in his reckless vandalism of the Canadian State. It is important to remember that even though Peeair had inflicted these over the top measures primarily on Quebecers that didn;t stop them from voting for Trudeau in the next election. How tragically ironic it was that after Trudeau imposed the War Measures Act Quebecers voted for him en masse, the rest of the country not so much. Without the Quebec vote Trudeau would have lost his second election. Peeair knew how to divide Canadians and he nurtured that division to retain power… The little commie POS got away with it and so will his lispy soul-less spawn.

      1. I wonder if PET played funny with the ballots? I always thought so and said JT did.

It must’ve really bugged the Liberals when the BQ (Duceppe) sided with Harper and Layton to take down Chretien. Now the Liberals HAVE the BQ as their boys… dangling their Pensions in their faces. The BQ people never had it so good. Nice game /sarc!

And Canada continues to suffer. Too bad Quebec didn’t separate from Canada. We would’ve been better for it.

        1. Despite the allegations of election tampering, Dear Leader Prinz Dummkopf the Supremely Magnificent has never investigated it, implying that not only did it occur, but he was at least aware of it if not directly involved.

Without that voting hanky-panky, he wouldn’t have won in 2015. But, the end justified the means.

I’m reminded of something I mentioned earlier on SDA. I once taught a service course in which I ended up having to re-run the mid-term exam (a long story as to why). In order to get the whiny students to shut up, I made it take-home. I suspected there would be cheating and I wasn’t proven wrong–when the class average was over 90% and just about every exam paper had identical answers, it’s hard to argue that the results were pure coincidence.

After the final exam, some of my students confessed that they weren’t honest. The justification for that was “if I hadn’t cheated, I wouldn’t have passed”, as if that made it right.

Similarly, I’m sure HRH would argue that if there hadn’t been meddling in 2015 and, quite likely, 2019, he wouldn’t have won, and that made it right.

          1. HRH — so aptly named the Prinz. The sarcasm is fair.
            Machiavelli would be proud.

          2. While his exalted title is made up and meant to be sarcasm, he probably would consider it to be a compliment because that’s how he sees himself.

    3. The FAC card was introduced in 1977. There was a letter of introduction that was sent out to all of the senior police officers in the spring of 1977. The letter explained the introduction of and requirements to receive the FAC card. The last line of the letter was very chilling.
It stated : “The sole intent of the FAC registration is to quietly and discretely disarm the entire Canadian public.”
It is unlikely that this letter from top police brass would be available under the freedom of information, but maybe.

Now another goofy Trudeau is in power and abusing it.

      1. An FAC was routine. I think they just did a quick criminal record check. I think it was around the time of Kim Campbell that I went to renew and was asked if I had proof of a gun course. I had my, likely by then expired, army ID card. That wasn’t good enough so I never bought any guns, wink, wink, until Harper turned by possession license into a possession and acquisition license. I’ve still never taken the friggin course. I could run a range, fire machine guns, pistols, rockets, and throw grenades but I couldn’t buy a .22 despite already owning enough guns to overthrow many South American countries.

  4. Orwell spins in his grave.
Imagine the foresight & ability required to write a book like 1984, in the aftermath of WW2, to warn the future.

    Trudeau, Tam & Sloan.
And Sloan is the one under the bus? Trudeau accuses racism & conservative? mps suddenly can’t seemed to locate their spines.

    Quelle surprise

  5. Today, May 1, is the 50th anniversary of Richard Nixon sending American troops into Cambodia.

    1. May 1 is also the birth date of the greatest (?) blues harmonica player of all time. Little Walter Jacobs.

He changed harp playing for all time. Best remembered for his stints in Muddy Watters band Little Walter was a star in his own right. His recording of ‘Juke’ is still a harmonica standard.

He had a violent temper and coupled with his alcoholism it eventually got the best of him. He died of a blood clot following a fist fight.

        1. Good stuff Nancy!

You gotta like those cuts with Muddy/Little Walter. Muddy pretty much made the blues electric and Little Walter electrified the harmonica – mostly in self defence as he was being overpowered by amplified guitars and bass. It changed the instrument.

What am I doing? I went nuts (again) and bought a Lab pup. I get him next Friday. Fun times at the trap shack…..ha

        1. An explanation: I cut back the second post, to what appeared @ 4:08. Thought the first one @ 3:35 went high and dry. To me every malfunction is due to circuit overload. I like wierd surprises.

Happy weekend everyone. What are you doing? I have raking and garden cleanup. At 10 am Globul Warmeninh is 18°C. Niiiice!

      1. Thanks abtrapper and back up link-provider Nancy Ross.
Shamed I never heard of the cat.

  6. I wandered in and caught Hiding Man giving his opinions, something like “the only purpose these serve is to kill a lot of people,” so I thought oh he’s changed his mind about abortion. Was I ever mistaken …

    1. Instead of banning guns maybe the Libranos should ban murder.
      Oh, wait…..

  7. The Globe and Mail published an article today saying Peter McKay is suing the Post Millennial for “defamation” over an article that says a poll shows that that he is falling behind Erin O’Toole in the Conservative leadership race. A real piece of nasty work, this. It seems Establishment Canada is going after the small dissident press. First the CBC hits the Epoch Times, and how this. I am upset by this.

I’ll post the G&M link as soon as my wife wakes up and I feed the dog.

      1. Mackay is a coward, certainly not a conservative and this will not get him any good headlines.

  8. I look at the comments and I have an attitude that when the creditors advise the sock monkey that they cannot lend anymore funds to Canada, that there will be a great many folks particularly in the MTV that will suddenly truly know how the west feels.
They will know it as the sock monkey is forced to either start paying the bills by cutting programs and raising taxes, or borrowing from the not nice B lenders.
Not having anyone in his cabinet or within the senior ranks of the bureaucracy that know anything besides how to polish turds, the country will be forced into insolvency and soon after integration into the US.
Ironically that would also mean adopting US laws such as the 2nd.
On that day, liberals will be clamouring for the sock monkeys head.

  9. And now the Liberal Party’s Saturday Toronto Star. Your best choice for Liberal Party propaganda. Editorial that Trump is Hitler and is killing thousands of Americans, as well as ruining the economy. Editorial that Peking Tam is Wonder Woman. Peking Tam is wonderful. Things must be improving in Ontario, as the Doug Ford is Hitler stories have started again. Story that economic recovery must have a “feminist” emphasis. The Star begs for more money from Blackie. Carefully selected letters to the editor. These include letters that the shootings in Nova Scotia happened because men are murdering pigs against women. Letter calling for a ban on pipelines. A green energy letter. Letter that Conservative MPs are racist bastards. Story of China praising Canada. Blackie is wonderful. The Liberal Party is wonderful. Socialism is wonderful. Indians need more money. Islam is wonderful. Canadians are racist bastards.

  10. I would ask for someone on here to answer a questions Can Sock child get away with not putting his gun ban through parliament and if so why? Thanks

    1. I thought anything to do with money requires a vote. PM Dickspank and Billy the Liar are offering compensation to owners. That’s money, so it seems illegal or invalid to me.
The Bloc and NDP will keep Blackie in power for as long possible because they have more influence with Liberals in a minority.

    2. Elections have consequences.
In 2019 Bill C-71 became law and allowed the government to determine gun classification taking it away from the RCMP.
      https://firearmrights.ca/en/c-71-simplified-bill-analysis-and-contentions/
The ban is done. Unless the Conservatives get a majority within 2 years.
Compensation is another aspect to the gun ban. It will be debated in parliament forcing the Conservatives to vote in favor of compensating the gun owners that are a big part of their base.
The compensation is salt in the wound from the seizure of my property that was not for sale.
There are many businesses that are bankrupted overnight.
Gun clubs will lose members and some will fold.
      3 gun completions are done.
This gun ban is a pilot project to gauge public sentiment and is just phase 1

  11. Ha! Nice picture making the rounds of a senior policy advisor to Climate Barbie, using a banned weapon at a shooting range.

  12. Breitbart brings us the latest announcements from Dementia Joe. 600,000 dead from virus, Trump refuses to have intercourse with the world.

  13. Damn, I completely missed Mayday due to quarantine fog! The local labour council must have canceled the Bolshevik picnic I guess. I was so looking forward to a big bowl of borscht followed by a generous portion of Das Kapital. Next year I guess.

    1. Thanks for this,

August 2019 seems an eternity ago.
I think his letter has aged well.

  14. Meteor spotted in  Burnaby.

A British Columbia man managed to snap some dashcam footage of a very bright meteor streaking through the skies Thursday, clearly visible in broad daylight.

Al Dinis’ car was stopped at an intersection in Burnaby when he saw the bright streak, reaching from southwest to northeast. Checking his dashcam later, he confirmed it was a meteor. Check it out:

  15. More evidence for COVID-19 attacking blood cells:

This study preprint study from March proposes that COVID-19 can enter cells via the CD147-spike protein. This protein is present on red blood cells, so it may show how COVID-19 can enter those cells. There is a small clinical trial for the drug / antibody Meplazumab. Which is also in clinical trials for malaria treatment.

One of the main critiques, of the whole hemoglobin hypothesis was that there was no mechanism for the virus to enter red blood cells, maybe this is it.

    https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.14.988345v1.full.pdf

This study was also cited in this other study that is proposing why Azithromycin might be effective against Covid-19. It suggests that Azithromycin may block the receptor interaction on CD147. That could be why there is some effectiveness in combination with HCQ.
