Uh Oh, More Uncomfortable Facts are Starting to Emerge

Fact check: Did the Obama administration deplete the federal stockpile of N95 masks?

We rate this claim TRUE because it is supported by our research. There is no indication that the Obama administration took significant steps to replenish the supply of N95 masks in the Strategic National Stockpile after it was depleted from repeated crises. Calls for action came from experts at the time concerned for the country’s ability to respond to future serious pandemics. Such recommendations were, for whatever reason, not heeded.

    1. I disagree neo, I believe the American progressives were SO anxious to have a dark skinned President, it wouldn’t have mattered who he hung out with.

Obama was “the magic negro” that was going to expunge white guilt, that he was a doper and probably bisexual didn’t matter either, he was The Answer to all of America’s problems.

I doubt if most under forty Americans even knew who Louis Farrakhan was.

      1. He was sitting in the pews and received “benedictions” from the “God DAMN! America!” liberation theology RACIST pastor. And the Voters still stuffed the ballot box with millions of illegal votes for the first permanently tanned POTUS.

  1. Big government wants its hand in everything but woefully neglects the things that most people think are its core responsibilities. This isn’t a partisan problem. This is an institutional issue. There should be constitutional restrictions on government preventing them from taking on any issues if it hasn’t covered off its core areas.

    1. Any form of abuse the “constitutional restrictions” you refer to within a republic should be considered treasonous with obvious penalties.
It should not be limited to the nations stockpile of emergency supplies and include any form of pilfering or pillaging of the nations assets including food, gold & energy reserves and the stability of the nations finances.
      But that’s just me.
I believe some of the most beautiful words ever written from one man to his fellow citizens begin with “We the People”
I am envious as a citizen from north of the border….

  2. Interesting that all the comments on this item are about insulting a person rather than the data. No wonder everyone is so divided. Get your heads out of your ass everyone – and think of what you are saying and if your opinions are based on FACTS and ALL THE FACTS. I do not know the FACTS in this situation and frankly what is past is past.
However what I have learned through the years is that managing a situation is a balance between desired outcomes and available resources. A President’s action is profoundly affected by the Senate. As we have seen. Obama’s actions were controlled by a Republic Senate – Trump’s actions are enabled by a Republican Senate. This can be a very bad thing for good government or a very good thing. It depends on the Senate.
I suggest you read the article sourced from USA Today by this website – it contains the information of the circumstances that led to the masks being at a low level. It was due to choices by the experts to use what funds were available to support the production and supply of life-saving drugs from small pharmaceutical companies that otherwise would not have been available.

Not a decision made by Obama, but by the team that organised and managed it.

Trump dismantled the team that existed to deal with Pandemics in May 2018. When Covid-19 raised its head it was denied and derided by Trump. His own administration warned him in 2019 during an International Conference that the USA was seriously under-prepared for a crisis.
“When asked about his decision to disband the office at a news conference in the Rose Garden on Friday.
“I just think it’s a nasty question,” the president responded. “And when you say ‘me,’ I didn’t do it. … I don’t know anything about it.”
As usual anything pointed out is quoted as “a nasty question” – but nevertheless it is true, nasty or not. Now many people are dying due to his stunning incompetence. Whether you like a persons politics or not – their actions are FACTS. The results are FACTS.

When people are crying, losing their beloved mother, brother, or God Forbid, child how can you not challenge his actions ! As health workers in New York are having to repeatedly wash one-time use masks to stay on the job to try to save dying people and endangering their own lives – where is he ?
He is refusing to step in and provide coordinated distribution and sharing of essential equipment. When he declared a National State of Emergency it triggered the law to make the Federal Government in charge of the Pandemic. But then he blames the States that they are not managing the problems. It is his job now. Meanwhile New York and other cities are in utter crises and cannot resolve it because the Federal Government is only hindering not assisting. My God – I feel so much anguish for the American people and my American friends.
Do not look at what a person says – Look at what they do.

  3. Rush mentioned on Thursday that Obama’s 2009 Unaffordable Health Care Act medical device tax had a part is out sourcing the manufacture of some medical supplies and medications. I wonder what country they went to?

  4. Sorry to be a contrarian, the current administration has had several years to fix this issue and didn’t get the job done. There needs to be some hard questions asked when this is over.

    1. yes that is true but on the other hand Trump has been one of the most busy President ever, he has accomplished more than almost any before him.

of the hundreds of things President Trump accomplished it was bound to happen that something would be overlooked.

he was harassed and still is every day, there was the Mueller witch hunt, then the impeachment, yet he managed to accomplish hundreds of positive changes

I think we can forgive him for overlooking a couple things out of hundreds
