  1. There really is nothing left to do Kate. I have watched the freedom in the country and the world evaporate because of mentally defective people being allowed to vote. This country is nothing like it was when in grew up, absolutely nothing. I just do not understand how so many supposedly intelligent people have been more than will to throw away all that we had. I guess freedom and morality have just slipped away as God slipped away in people’s minds. This virus and the reaction to it will eventually prove to be the total undoing of the western world. I hope I am not alive then because it would a sad thing to say I told you so to anyone who has been close to me. There are more options than the ones our “masters” have chosen but there is no point in reiterating them because, well, “if it only saves one life”.

        The snowflakes are going to have to become a lot more resillient, whether they want to or not, and that will lead to a change in attitudes. Nobody will care about some hypothetical possibility a hundred years from now if they are hungry. People are going to have to learn how to get things done, and there will be little tolerance for the sinecured civil self-service that exists only to get in the way.

Now there are only socialists, communists and globalists running the political systems of most developed countries, so the only hope for the future is the rise of an earth bound messiah and given the current generation, I don’t see much hope of that.

        2. Those communist countries also had no apparent alternatives and all you could see where more communists and a few dissident cranks being ostracized or worse. Of course the media was controlled by the government and people were afraid to speak out, and felt compelled to speak out against the “complainers”. Then one day that extra person spoke out and tipped the balance creating a preference cascade, and the whole system came down as people who had kept their silence out of fear realized that there were many others who thought the same way.

          If Canada can not be fixed as it is, there is always #Wexit, which will force the east to fix themselves.

          1. Dissents were jailed. Not ostracized. In the 50’s they disappeared never to be seen again. Later they were put in prison. Don’t know where you get the ostracism from.
            Don’t understand when you say they had no alternative, that is nonsense. There is always an alternative, there are rare events that offer opportunity to act.

            Another is where uncle or some such relative of my mom was, around 1945 or so, taken by the ruskies to Soviet Union for crime of being mayor of a small town. In 1968 during some changes he was let go to come home and was told directly not to talk about it or they would send him back to prison, in Soviet Union. This is not hearsay, it’s a fact.
            While everybody was careful what they said and where, it was a public secret that the communists suck, everybody knew that including communists.
            There was nothing that the communists did not control.
            Communism is against the very nature of human being.
            When the time came that changed everything, everybody including communists took a deep breath and it came so naturally to everyone to be free.

            The change came when many persons, Reagan, Thatcher, Pope and Walesa appeared and overwhelmed the communist rulers by sheer force of argument, which by the way, the supposed ‘Conservative’ have complete lack of in this country.

  2. Strong men arise from what nourished them. That means that the strong men of the western world are all over 60. This U.N. news is like a bad joke, or like a sub plot in a trashy conspiracy thriller. Why the US and other western countries don’t pull the plug on that corrupt organization is beyond me. Has the west just given up, or are our leaders compromised? I am not a conspiracy thinker, but sure would like someone to explain this.

  6. I’ve come to the conclusion that the UN is one of those things that most of the voting public spends little to no time thinking about, much like municipal politics. It exists as a “worthwhile organization” attempting to “do good” to “keep peace” and “help poor countries” in their minds without ever looking at their activities not cheered on by those integral members of the dominant institutional left masquerading as media. Those pathologically driven to control the lives of their fellow humans, depriving people of natural rights, are essentially evil. That means that the UN is little more than an international sand box intent on global governance where evil regimes dominate in the pursuit of grander evil. Most of the world’s media is complicit in that accomplishment. Questioning the continuing existence of, or membership in the UN, is uniquely a part of the conservative or libertarian lexicon.

  12. The most heralded document of the United Nations was the UN Declaration on Human Rights, based on the values of Western Civilization. As Western nations became infected with the brain parasite Cult. Marxism/post-modernism, they lost confidence in their (our) own Civilization.

    That opened the gates for moral/cultural and political relativism, which morphed with post-modernism, into a twisted, upside down meme. The worst of the world became elevated above the best. This because, once Western Nations lost confidence in their(our) Civilization’s values.     The O.I.C. (Organization of Islamic States) passed the Cairo Declaration(1990) on Human Rights, where ever there is conflict between the U.N. Declaration on Human Rights and Sharia Law. Sharia law over rides it. They’ve have submitted the document more than once to the United Nations, which according to *(Major) Stephen Coughlin, makes it a legal document.

  16. The good news is that the number of new cases and new deaths each day in Italy and Spain are starting to plateau, and may start going down soon. The virus may finally be burning itself out because of the lockdowns and the number of uninfected/ not yet infected people.

    France has had a huge spike in the number of deaths in the last few days, because they finally decided to count all the dead bodies they found in nursing homes and retirement homes, not just the dead in hospitals.

    But, it would appear that the populations in most countries are beginning to realize their self-interest, Canadians are obviously very stupid and will be slow to understand, but even here many more people than is apparent from media do seem to get it, not committed idiot Liberals of course, but normal people.

    All Canada needs to find is a Loyal Opposition to oppose the progressives who can get the message out that we don’t want to be a province of China. Leaders who will not submit to the liberals cancel culture.
