I Want A New Country

Life under the surrender of law;

J.J. Ruest, the president and CEO of CN Rail, said in a statement Tuesday the railway has no choice but to temporarily shutter “significant” parts of its network because blockades by Indigenous protesters near Belleville, Ont., and New Hazelton, B.C., have made train movements in the rest of the country all but impossible.

“We are currently parking trains across our network, but due to limited available space for such, CN will have no choice but to temporarily discontinue service in key corridors unless the blockades come to an end,” Ruest said.

Ruest said the protests threaten industry across the country, including the transport of food and consumer items, grain, de-icing fluid at airports, construction materials, propane to Quebec and Atlantic Canada, and natural resources like lumber, aluminum and coal.

Anthony Furey: A judge warned us in 2013 that endless blockades were coming to Canada

So the courts have ruled that the protesters must leave. It’s the job of the police to enforce the law. But the police have instead made a choice to not enforce the law and are instead “monitoring the situation” and “maintaining a dialogue”. Meanwhile, the Ontario Solicitor General’s office, which is responsible for the OPP, shirked responsibility by simply telling Postmedia that “the Minister cannot direct police operations”.

This is far from the first time law enforcement in Ontario has failed to do their job. In fact, an Ontario Superior Court judge even issued a stark warning several years ago about what would happen if this contempt for court injunctions on the part of the police continues.

I trust the gun rights people are watching and taking notes.

All this as Shiny Pony hopscotches around the globe with his personal photographer, throwing money from the plane.

  1. Spineless politicians might find themselves in court for failure to perform their obligations to we who elected them. The unelected protestors have assumed control of the Legislatures and Parliament and I guess the Public is to be shepherded into acting like sheep.
Did you enjoy the overthrowing of our Constitution ?

    1. ”Spineless politicians might find themselves in court for failure to perform their obligations to we who elected them.”

      Oh no! Not court!

This game of encouraging lawlessness is a fun game. The ones playing it should really, really hope that the working folk don’t decide to take part.

Then the fun ends and the pain begins. I know that the left thinks that they will be able to withstand the onslaught that they are flaming, many bolsheviks thought that too in 1918.

They were all dead within a short period, someone played the game harder than them.

We really don’t want to go down this road, but if the left insists that the law only applies to white males then all bets are off….

      1. We have a funny little man who ran around India wearing a bedsheet for that. Ghandi, another “saint” revered by the left, encouraged what’s euphemistically called “civil disobedience”. In other words, one only obeys those laws one likes but one justifies it by claiming some form of justice.

I heard that same sentiment in Sunday sermons 40 years ago. So much for an organization whose founder said “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s.”

        1. oh ya.
The Creator’s Son has a way with words eh?
has to do with He sees right thru the verbal tricks and has a put down at the ready.
we can all learn from that, starts with KEEPING INFORMED.

I’ve lost count the times Ive printed link info from SDA and shoved it in the face of LIEberals etc.

      2. I agree with you 100% when we enter into the lawless game ——society as we know it ends!

    3. Canada is a territory of the USA being minded by lunatics. Please America … annex Canada so we can have fun at Trump rallies too. Our ‘Bernie’ is in office and it’s not working out too well.

  2. A part of me loves that these groups are hitting Toronto and Victoria and Montreal.
Problem is they’ll probably just make oblivious people sympathetic and aware. Inactivated people become allies. In real countries people get red-pilled and react against this type of action. In Canada we cower and capitulate.

    We need a Pinochet.

    1. The summer of 1981 was miserable here in Canada. Not only did we have the NEP forced upon us, but there were strikes and rumours of strikes (both Canada Post unions, the CBC, brewery workers).

A fellow grad student, who was from overseas, couldn’t understand why Canadians were so passive about all of that. He said that if something like that happened in his country, people would riot and burn down buildings in response.

  3. Great game plan.
When we put the screws to Southern BC and The East,it will not be Western Separatists,it will be First Nations protests against the failure of Canadians to clean up those awful oilspills in the Athabasca Sands.
Native protesters..honest.. protesting the idiocy of a Federal Confederation stepping on Provincial Rights to PREVENT the clean up of the largest natural oil spill known to mankind.
    Imagine that.
The Feds insist we must leave that oil in the sand, allowing asphalt to pollute entire river systems every spring flood, allowing those nasty fossil fuel toxins to pollute the Athabasca River, The Slave and then Great Slave Lake and the MacKenzie basin.
These “Toxic waters” damage over half the North West Territories.
Such an injustice ,the Feds want Northern First Nations to die.
Preventing this clean up means the Federal Government wants this pollution in our sacred waters..
So it is impossible that an Independent Alberta would be strong arming and extorting the Remenants of Confederation.
    We would never do that.
But it is the God Given Privilege of our “first Nations “Citizens to stop all cross (new) country transport, to save their sacred waters.
So of course the Nation of Alberta’s police cannot arrest these loyal patriots…

Damn I should write for CBC.
Poor wee progressives do not like living by their own rules.
I note that some argue the current civil servants are a threat to an Independent country.
    Yes they are.
But Edmonton will clear right out when the current “helpers” discover there is no path to advancement in New Alberta’s Shrunken Bureaus.
    A self flushing problem.

  4. His ego needs the prestige of a UN seat rather the prestige of managing a growing crisis.

I’m starting to get concerned about vigilantism and it’s consequences in the vacuum of leadership and enforcement.

    1. “I’m starting to get concerned about vigilantism and it’s consequences in the vacuum of leadership and enforcement.”

By “concerned” do you mean “thrilled” & “eager”?

    1. Or an electorate that thinks nice hair and a pair of socks stuffed down the front of one’s pants are the only qualifications to lead a country.

  5. Not 100% sure on this but I believe Transport Minister Garneau said that removing the blockades is entirely a provincial matter. My understanding is that the regulations of the railroads comes completely federally under the Canadian Transportation Act and the Railroads Act. Furthermore, this is interfering with inter-provincial commerce.

The complete and utter hypocrisy of this, and quite frankly any, federal government is astounding. They are all too ready to trample provincial jurisdiction on matters such as, say, the development of an oil sands project but slink away from what is clearly a federal responsibility. Of course, when Le Dauphin (aka PM Sambo) is running around the world trying to get people of colour to elect his government to a security council seat, its not very easy when you actually have to arrest a few people of colour at home

In the first few lines of our new constitution :”ALL are equal before the law”

    1. That stage was set a while ago with Horgan/Weaver blocking TM. Alberta should have shut the taps off to BC and Washington State immediately. Transport Minister Garneau should just STFU. Feds abdicated their responsibilities long ago on this file.

    2. If you didn’t know this day was coming, you are not paying attention.

Look up Caledonia for a hint of the embarrassment yet to come.

The hypocrisy begins with the horrible Canadian Constitution.

Everything depends on what your definition of is is.

And what Liberal judge is presiding.

When you write the script and pick the adjudicators, all things are possible.

“The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.”
(lotsa wiggly room there for your no rights and freedom leaning governments)

” 15. (1) Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.
      Marginal note:Affirmative action programs

      (2) Subsection (1) does not preclude any law, program or activity that has as its object the amelioration of conditions of disadvantaged individuals or groups including those that are disadvantaged because of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability. (84)”
(lotsa put your thumb on the equality scale room for Liberal judges)

  6. I’m going to play devil’s advocate here. If this is the new norm and by all evidence it is then it should not be the exclusive domain of anti-energy activists.

As I see it, central Canada was perfectly fine with ignoring anti-energy pipeline and extraction issues for years as long as it was just people in Alberta suffering job losses, bankruptcies and even suicide. Now that the center of the universe has had by compaison a rather minor taste of being inconvenienced by anti-energy protests for a few days…it gets wall to wall national news coverage. Pro-energy supporters need to adapt to the new norm.

We have to make the western prairies energy problems a central Canada problem.

    1. Now that the center of the universe has had by compaison a rather minor taste of being inconvenienced by anti-energy protests for a few days

It is not being inconvenienced until it interrupts the NHL playoffs on TV and access to TimBits and cheap beer. Until then, it won’t give a rat’s patootie.

  7. this is utterly delightful.
best news in the last 3 months.
    why so?
proves once agin, ‘COPS ARE TOPS’.
and do please make it bold face, flashing, 200 point, m’kay?
    cops are tops BULLSHYT.
think not? report a theft and see what they do and DONT do.

    1. Exactly. My son in law had his business pilfered. He even had the video evidence clearly identifying the culprit. The police? They had better things to do.
The same day, Safesite is attacked by paintballs. The police spared no expense going after those involved.
All we have are modern day Gestapo. Push paper, collect taxes and be thugs for the government. They are thugs until they have to go up against someone not afraid to hit back.

  8. I believe it’s called The Supreme Court OF CANADA. NOT THE SUPREME COURT OF FIRST NATIONS! The citizens according to Charter of Rights and Freedoms are all supposed to be EQUAL under the law of this land. Cultural privilege cannot be allowed to supersede the foundation of trade and commerce that is the MAIN REASON FOR CONFEDERATION. By definition it MAKES all citizens UNEQUAL which actually invalidates the Charter. The Courts need a smack back to reality and open their eyes to the unwavering bad faith behavior First Nations leadership have expressed towards Canada. Any reasonable negotiator would walk away from any meaningful negotiation UNTIL evidence shows a willingness to enter in a true partnership but not our guilt-ridden misguided courts. The havoc that the progressive court system has so purposefully wreaked on our nation has been an act of self-immolation. If our governments and especially COURTS don’t start putting CANADA FIRST! then this country will soon cease to exist. SAD!

    1. ”If our governments and especially COURTS don’t start putting CANADA FIRST! then this country will soon cease to exist.”

      Sounds good to me.

    2. Some of the native supporters are screaming WE ARE A SOVEREIGN NATION, NOT CANADA!!!!!!!!!

      Stop using Canadian money
      Stop using Canadian energy
      Stop using Canadian food
      Stop using Canadian roads
      Stop using Canadian heath system
      Stop using Canadian government funding

We will help all of you sovereigns, by digging up roads, putting up walls and gates, to seal off your nation…..

These people are truly ridiculous, extremists running on vapours

    3. Martin , The Supreme Court of Canada was created by an Act of Parliament.. It can be eliminated by an Act of parliament…..Canada fucked up,,,, Diefenbaker.. A Conservative pushed for the SCOC.. You have the right to make mistakes, but you also have a responsibility to fix mistakes.. Lawyers & Courts serve themselves and are not really necessary unless subject to citizen oversight.. Abolish Self Regulation & they will work for society

  9. C’mon CN! You’ve got snowplows FFS!
Lash a couple of Dash-9s behind your biggest ones and put them the 8!

  10. If the government will not enforce the law, then at some point, fed up people will figure it’s time to play cowboys and indians, 1870s style. What the scofflaws forget is that the police doesn’t exist to protect law-abiding citizens, it exists to protect scofflaws from law-abiding citizens who’ve had enough with lawlessness.

    1. Indeed, this was stated EXACTLY yesterday on several “news” casts

Its shocking indeed to understand that now, the cops are the radical protestor’s own dedicated security force!

The Middle Class? SHUT UP AND PAY PAY PAY

  11. Just one time, run a train full speed through every blockade. Guaranteed the cowardly slugs will not be back the next day. I have zero respect for Trudeau’s keystone cops and the far left judicial system.

  12. I want Prinz Dummkopf to go down in history as the man who was responsible for the breakup of Canada.

    1. He will be thus, so long as Ontario keeps voting for DERP!

Will look good on the family history, the father started the problem, the kid was ta the helm when it busted apart!

  13. ” …the protests threaten … the transport of … de-icing fluid at airports, …, propane to Quebec and Atlantic Canada …”

I expect J.J. Ruest lacks either the sense to see the opportunity or the nuts to use it. “Sorry, our trains can’t get through because the government doesn’t enforce the law, so you can’t fly off to warm holidays in Cuba when you want to escape the freezing cold, you’ll just have to stay in your home that you can’t heat. “

  14. Canada is under the rule of lawyers, not the rule of law.

Contrast the United States, where the rule of law is finally being restored. The lawyers’ guild are soiling themselves with fright at the prospect. In a world where their guild don’t control who becomes a judge, their chosen trade—making sure criminals go free and decent people are thrown in prison and financially ruined for daring to put troublemakers in their place—will get a lot more difficult.

    1. Go even further and extend the “blockade” right out into their respective communities, and refuse to have any dealings with them whatsoever, on any level.
Time for a good old fashioned “shunning”.

  15. The federal NDP leader tweeted that the blockades are the result of hundreds of years of colonialism. Strange, I thought it was the NDP government in B.C. that approved the pipeline. Maybe the OPP in Ontario didn’t give enough bottles of maple syrup to the Indians. They are still there.

  16. The Atlantic Coast & Pacific Coast philanderers with Freedom’s solid Foundation __ “WE THE PEOPLE …. United States Constitution smirking and laughing; holding Their noses when talking about Deplorable Walmart Customers; actually do not understand there are many American Citizens geographically close by to Their High Cost neighbourhoods.

American Citizens with ancestry predating the American Revolution.

The talking point(s) surreptitiously added to the News Spin of diminishing the Strength of the Sovereignty of the Ordinary Average American Citizen is recognized as yet another attempt by foreign money to destroy the ‘checks & balances’ of the Republic.

The Atlantic & Pacific Coasts of Canada, although the distain does not carry the smugness as much as the central Canada Canada bought media.

The Canadian Atlantic has been kept in thrall ever since the Upper Canada – [ Ontario ] ___ Family Compact___ and the Lower Canada [ Quebec ] ___ Chateau Privlege ___ took away their independence. The Pacific Coast steadily slides closer & closer to the High Cost of Living and subjectation of the U.S.A. – State of Washington and ‘Old growth hippy culture of Tree Hugging indifference to the Very Best Carbon Capture device — TREES.

  17. This would be a great time for Alberta to turn off the taps to the rest of Canada. Put the whole bloody economy into the toilet. FAST. That’s what it’s going to take to wake up Canadians from their idiocy.

  18. and “maintaining a dialogue”

cop: “I’m going for donuts, you want anything?”

Injun protester: “Nah, I’m good. Oh wait! You can kiss my ass.”

  19. Let me try writing fiction once in a lifetime. How about this riddle:

“Speaking of gun rights and gun bans, toilet paper could go a long way in bringing the current government to its knees.
If every gun owner took some time, like one hour a week, to visit the local offices of the federal government, and flushed a full roll of toilet paper down each toilet bowl, then once the toilets were backed up in every government office across Canada, then the government operation would come to a halt. They would back down 100%. If this would not work, then the practice could be escalated into doing the same for the airports, train terminals, and a number of other institutions that rhyme with “spool”, “petal” or “haulage”.”

  20. Is there actually such a thing as a hereditary chief or did someone just make this shit up to scam money out of people with jobs? It would be highly unusual for lesser developed cultures to have hereditary anything especially leadership which was reserved for the strong.

      1. Fight democracy! Support hereditary chiefs! Democracy is a white colonial atrocity. Perhaps the OPP should have given the blockading indians bottles of liquor instead of maple syrup.

  21. None of the meeting members in the linked article’s picture are Mohawks. They are white, anglo-saxon Canadians, pretending they are Natives. DNA testing would tell, but who cares to perform it as long as someone screams that they are owed money by everyone else?

  22. Remember;”We are all Metis now”.
Self identify and form a “traditional group” to give providence to your self identification.
You really have to love the Supreme Court of Canada.
    Mischief is important.
And that ruling was a cruel blow to the “Indigenous Industry”.

So let Alberta Residents be Official Metis, then slam all federal rules to our hearts content.
These special groups of ancestory or colour are ananthema to Rule of Law.
You can have Apartheid or Law for all.
    Chose.

  23. I’m looking at this from the perspective of those who asked for it are getting what they asked for. I am speaking of those now inconvenienced in the Toronto Montreal corridor.
As to how this will be resolved, I see that those in a position of doing what needs to be done are discovering all sorts of excuses why they can’t just come in and physically remove the illegal protesters.
The police say they are engaged in dialogue. The translation into deplorable is as follows: the police know they should do it, but every protester and cop in attendance know the politicians and courts would throw the cops under the bus if one protester claimed harm.
The provincial government says they need to continue keep the lines of communication open to try to resolve the matter peacefully. Translation into deplorable as follows: they know that the protesters will not go peacefully and will try to create an altercation with police at which point the politicians run for cover and throw the cops under the bus.
The federal government says its a provincial matter and they hope that both sides keep an open dialogue. Deplorable translation as follows: They want to blame Harper, Ford, and maybe even Mike Harris for this if things go south and then the sock monkey can show up with more money for the protesters.

    Here’s what should happen.
The police get direction from the provincial government to order the protesters to leave without using any physical force. They will refuse. At that point the premier phones Ottawa and informs them to send the Army to remove the protesters.

Now I know, and you know, and I know that you know, the sock monkey will be torn on the prospect of ordering the Army to intervene because this is one of the mortal sins he assigned to Harper. But if this situation is allowed to persist the situation will be untenable and likely get worse, so he knows eventually he will be forced to do something to placate nervous voters in the MTV.

There is no middle ground on this.
Remove the protesters or they get emboldened and harder to remove.

  24. The Liberal Party’s CBC states that Canadian cities and towns could soon be running out of safe drinking water, as shipments of chlorine are not moving by rail. But hey, as long as indians can jump around the train tracks waving feathers and chanting to the sacred tree frog, that is all that matters.

    1. Now that is a sacrifice I am willing to make.
Let them drink “reserve quality” water. The Hair Apparent struts around African Dictators as Can Ahh Duh grinds to a halt.
      Excellent.
If we can just nobble the transport trucking industry, the cities will get what they vote for.
No trains,no trucks..does not take long for urban ‘renewal” to set in.

  25. Calculate loss of business and sue. Win a settlement, and then garnish the transfer payments, the Indian Act funds, and the oil profits. Blockade the roads off the reserve, and refuse use of roads until remittance. Use international courts if need be, but punishing them in the wallet book is the only hope. As has been said, the police are merely the left’s protective detail, they will not respond.

  26. The oil companies could have stopped it all any time they wanted.

Could have stopped selling all fossil fuels to all reserves where a single protestor lived. Collective punishment works.

Could have started charging $100,000 per liter for any protesters who showed up at any gas station.

Could have bull dozed the roads leading to their houses.

Could have doxxed every single one of them.

The people of Lac Megantic could have sued the NGOs that fund all the pipeline protests, instead of some cut out rail company.

No one has done anything, that they easily could have.

    1. How about cutting off the 12 billion dollars a year to Indian affairs, or whatever they are calling it now. Freaking driving 65 thousand dollar trucks to protest. Who the hell can afford a 65thousand dollar truck other than a welfare Indian? Oil, I think that is what they put in their freaking trucks, son of a bitch, they are freaking hyprocrits . Go away folks, I am damn sure my grandmother put some Indian in my gene pool. You are not special.

  27. A train moving at 80 miles an hour and not stopping would finish that shit immediately. of course we would remove some welfare Indians from our financial drain. Good bye.

  28. The SCOC has raised the expectations of many Indians and their US foundation underwriters of protests to the point where they are challenging the sovereignty of the nation of Canada. I say let them have it and then we live under Indian law which means that there is no law preventing the killing, raping, eating, and taking slaves of Indians. If that’s how the 3% of the nation that have 1/16 or better Indian racial purity want to exist, the rest of us should consent to it. We would also be free to eliminate the SCOC, the idiot Spawn, and anyone else anyone with the means (guns) deems expendable. Either that or enforce the rule of law.

  29. Here in Ottawa I told my girlfriend that if I walked down the middle of Wellington Avenue stopping traffic with a big banner that said “Stop The Fiscal Madness” or “Balance The Budget” the way the pipeline protestors do (with cops facilitating) I’d be arrested by those same cops or at least ticketed. I sure as hell would be forcibly removed.
    She says I wouldn’t.
    Bullfuckingshit.
She, like so many, need their eyes opened by a scary shutdown of the things Easterners take for granted.
The West needs to turn off taps.
    #ClownCarCanada

  30. Time to get out of this lawless third world shithole. Its great that the taxpayer funded Media are giving our foreign funded PM yet another free ride as he goes on his very expensive “I grew a beard tour” while the country descends into foreign funded chaos and anarchy. Canada is over, long over… why do we want t be a part of lawless Turdholeland the Post Nation State where a few foreign funded anarchists can shut down the country for a paycheck. Lets end this mess, and fast. #WEXIT!!!

  31. “I’m encouraging all parties to dialogue and resolve this as quickly as possible….

Hey turdo la doo, let me finish that sentence for you!

… however, should one of my inner sanctum be harmed, I’ll shit my pants like my old man did and I’ll call in the army!”

    1. What army? Oh, I forgot: the one headed by General Omar “Ten Million Dollar Man” and funded by the “residents” of Hongcouver.

      1. Anyone knowledgeable of “Army” with orders to shoot, should know 10 men armed with automatic weapons rule, in gun free Kanaduh. Hell, 5 would do. Leave the bodies where they lie. Move on to the next “mob”. Any move to resist and you’ll find a lot more to deal with and with bigger stuff. Might see airborne dealings…one strafe and done. Don’t even need to get up close and personal on the ground. Did I mention they would be US? There was a book written just after 1970 with a plausible scenario – Kanaduh dies as we know it. Don’t think so? “Just watch me”. Tronna suddenly can’t shop in Buffalo, NY. Vancouver suddenly can’t buy cheaper gas in Blaine, Wash. Moan Really can’t shop in Plattsburg. Oh, the agony!
The fact that we have yet to close off Chinese flights to Kanaduh, while PM SFB does selfies in dirt poor African “nations” has been noticed. That border will be shut, soon. Kanduh will be quarantined. Stock up.

  32. Oh wonderful, the Indians are not only grinding Canada’s economy to a halt, but the Liberal Party’s CBC reports that the Assembly Of First Nations has announced today that it is suing the government(taxpayers) for billions of dollars over past child welfare issues. Thank you Justin.

    1. And, in order to buy their votes, he’ll see to it that it gets paid. The government will tell us: “Alberta, we’ll take all your revenue-producing jobs from you because we gave ourselves the power to do so. However, you’ll still have to fork over equalization payments and now we’ll add an Indian tax.”

  33. And the protestors – with the cops help – are marching along downtown streets in Ottawa this very minute.
And when are the We Were Here First Nations who are all for the pipeline going to do something?
    And fuck the teachers.

  34. Who is actually in charge now? Why can’t the Canadian military be called upon to stifle this madness?

    1. Why can’t the Canadian military be called upon to stifle this madness?

That’s because we don’t have one any more, at least none that’s of any use. Trudeau I and Trudeau II saw to that.

  35. In 2013, Greenpeace boarded a Russia ship as a protest against oil drilling. The Russians boarded the ship, arrested all the Greenpeace protesters and threw them all into prison. After 9 months in prison (and Russian prisons are not nice places), negotiations finally freed the protesters.

Since then, not one such protest against the Russians has taken place.
    I wonder why???

  36. Here in Alberta we have grown accustomed to blockades by the liberals. Deal with it Canada.

  37. Spineless?

    Quite possibly.

    Even worse, anti-pathetic.

We are nothing to Ottawa and we let it know that by re-electing total sh–bags.

    I don’t understand why cow-catchers can’t be used.

  38. You white guys are wierd.

We plug your transportation systems and you get back at us by spending money in our Casinos and buying our cheap gas, booze, and smokes.
