Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

This guy is brilliant. Smarter that the combined IQ of Trudeau’s entire cabinet, perhaps even all the liberal idiots in all of Canada. This should be a TV commercial.
The solution to pollution is a tax.
Two points:
We’re not even talking about pollution, CO2 is not a pollutant.
Second, every statist solution is to tax/spend/control.
Actually, a third point:
Without these clowns creating problems, there would be no need for their incompetent and kleptocratic “solutions.”
tax/SQUANDER/control
All politicians know that there is no carbon dioxide problem. However, they cannot raise money by increasing federal/provincial taxes anymore, so came up with the smart idea of a “Carbon Tax” – it is just another tax. Will they use the monies raised to reduce the deficit, the national debt? No, they will given themselves big pay raises because they are “helping” the planet.
The icy beard was a nice touch.
So, I guess that my constant bleat about stupid Canadians continues to be 100% right as opposed to any other thought.
Duh,need alternative.
How about biodiesel from bear fat?
Apparently any kind of fat will do.
But bears are no alternative,PITA and all the other do-gooders will shriek..
But fat government employees.. there seems to be an endless supply.
And they are the very same creatures taxing our fuel,to “Encourage the use of an alternative” that does not exist.
Damn,I am genius, a useful function for our parasitic overlords.
Warning some sarcasm may apply.
“But fat government employees.. there seems to be an endless supply.”
Har…genius solution, for sure!
aaaand no future corrupt government we have will undo the carbon tax either. No matter what political side they claim to be on.
Luv the YouTube comments
Of course the solution to everything is taxation. If the only tool you have is a hammer then climate change looks more like a nail than a marauding badger. Or something. Sorry, I’m not good at folksy sayings.
And, of course, taxing other things that the government wants to discourage the use of, like tobacco and alcohol, have been *so* effective… unless you look at them as being for the purpose of draining money from the populace into the coffers of the government for them to spend on something they’re paying too much for.
Conrad Black has an interesting story on global warming at the National Post.
Too bad he is (was) a convicted felon. I wonder if he will be seeking to regain his “Lordship”
Anyway, as much as I may be in agreement with what Connie says, the track record of his behaviour leaves a lot to be desired, in my opinion, and I certainly won’t be looking at him to bolster my thoughts on Man Made Global Warming as I would Dr. Tim Ball, for example.
The main story at Blackie’s Toronto Star website right now is about the brave teens fighting Canada to stop the Trans Mountain pipeline.
A simple carbon tax is probably the least destructive choice if we’re going to ‘do something’ about CO2 pricing, and it looks like we’re going to ‘do something’. Political rightists in the US and Canada should use it as a bargaining chip for better things like private healthcare and/or nuclear deregulation, etc while they still have some leverage.
Ume
So you are good with my “Unicorn Deterrent Taxes” as well?
Another threat as valid as Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming and we probably can calculate the danger, like the warming, to 3 decimal places.
Did you know the risk of being gored by a Unicorn has risen 300% in just two decades?
We must do something..
Never an end to the stealing.
Actually NO carbon tax would be immensely better, don’t you think? It’s all a fraud. There is no carbon “problem”. What we do have are a bunch dunces thinking that screwing with CO2 concentrations will “control” the Planet’s temperature. As if. I go by “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
It was warmer when Vikings waded ashore at L’Anse Aux Meadows, NFLD and it certainly wasn’t due to CO2. The Planet’s population flourished during the Minoan Warming Period, the Roman Warming Period and the Medieval Warming Period. The Black Death arrived during a long cold spell.
Current CO2 levels are 400-410 ppm. Plant life is stressed at 250 ppm. You don’t mess with Mother Nature, remember?
CO2 emissions are warming the planet, get over it. Might not even be a bad thing but it is likely a problem, though hardly our worst one. Doesn’t even mean a carbon tax is a good idea, but like I said if we’re going to Do Something (TM) this is the least bad option. And it can be used as a bargaining chip and should be before the GOP is destroyed in the next few years.
It won’t accomplish anything. That’s the point.
China will simply continue to pollute uninhibited.
We might as well not drive our family farmers to bankruptcy. Unless you are one of the people being paid to lobby for corporate agriculture. Then crushing the little giy is your goal. You must be a globalist.
John, don’t even bring up the carbon footprint of Santa. Poor little unme will become unshiffed. Those reindeer pass more gas than that old fat guy making their lives miserable. Imagine having to fly when your not a pig! Only pigs fly, right unme? God that unme dude is as stupid as Justy.

Draw your own conclusions. I’ve been to Greenland for work….in the summer, which lasts from July to the end of September. North of 71 degrees. Then the snow flies, fast. That’s when you leave, believe me.

I like to ask anti-oilsands protesters if they want us to go back to hunting whales. You know, the renewable clean oil source.
For some reason they never want to.
