A Columbia Journalism Review poll released this year found that half of all Americans have “hardly any confidence at all” in the media, which beat out even Congress as the institution for which the public has the lowest confidence. It’s not hard to see why. Last week, CNN reported that the CIA was forced to pull a highly placed source inside the Kremlin because of concerns that President Trump might burn him — when it turns out the decision to extract the source was made before Trump took office because of leaks from senior Obama administration officials.
 
Now, the New York Times has published an adapted excerpt from a new book by Times reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly in which they breathlessly describe a “previously unreported story” about how Max Stier, a male college classmate of Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, notified senators and the FBI that he saw Kavanaugh expose himself to a girl at a Yale party and that “friends pushed his penis into the hand of a female student.”
 
One small problem: In the book, Pogrebin and Kelly write that the female student in question “refused to discuss the incident” and that “several of her friends said she does not recall it.” That calls the entire allegation into question. Yet the Times did not include this vital information in the excerpt it published.

Given that the mainstream media has dropped all pretense to the contrary and is in the business of blatantly opposing “conservatism” in all shapes and forms, it makes sense that half the country, particularly the conservative half, just might notice such things. The institutional left as a leviathan echo chamber obviously lacks introspection.

  3. It is sad that most people have lost at least 10 points on the IQ scale. I think Canadians have matched Americans and have lost at least 20 points. Yep, we are getting dumber.

  4. CBC jumped right on the story.
    “Democrats demand Kavanaugh be impeached over new sexual misconduct allegations”.
    While the NTY printed a reclaimer, typically the CBC didn’t mention the inconvenient truth that the alleged victim didn’t recollect events as told. Ditto with CBC jumping on Buzzfeed leaked story about peeing Russian prostitutes which also was a fake story along with the rest of the Russiagate hoax.

    CBC cherry picks and spins the news and doesn’t correct the record. At least in the USA they have media outlets that aren’t owned or paid for by the government vs here where we get feed crap and kept in the dark. Worstest yet is we allow the CBC to frame public debate cuz our politicians kowtow to them and so we get dragged ever more over to the left.

    2. I remember the Buzzfeed bombshell well. Here in the Okanagan Chris Walker ran with it every morning for weeks coaxing negativity about Trump with every guest. Every unrelated story CBC ran had some negative angle on Trump. I just did not believe it. I think about then my feelings for CBC changed from disdain to disgust. Pure propaganda. I don’t know if Brent Banbury still carries on with the Trump Impeachometer but it might be time to activate the isHillarygoingtojailometer.

  5. It’s time to rip these kamikaze LIARS limb from limb. They all need; legal, IRS, and moral anal probes. Do to these people what Rosenstein/Mueller did to Trump’s Associates. These destructive, corrosive LIES have to be stopped. It’s bad-enough we have to deal with “Lawfare” … that we also have to defend against “Liefare”

    1. Did his friends get him … uh … aroused? I thought Justice Kavanaugh was so drunk during this supposed incident, that he couldn’t remember it. How does someone THAT drunk achieve erection? The PROBLEM with ALL the Kavanaugh LIES, is that the LIARS keep giving too many “details”. Like he was so drunk, he doesn’t remember. Yet … not so drunk that he could get a chubby to whip around the chicks. Sheesh. I hate to say it … but their next move may be to just murder the Justice. I hope Kavanaugh lives with an armed body guard, 24/7

    1. That’s the defense team CBC while the offensive team goes after the CPC. There’s probably a handful of older CBC executives that try to hide things like that (to maintain a bit of a pretense at objectivity) but for the majority of their UNIFOR and millennial “reporters”, they probably can’t see anything wrong with it as that IS the business in which they engage. What better way to oppose conservatism than to be bag-licking the Spawn while ensuring he is never asked anything tougher than what is his favourite colour and it IS true that “The Liberal Party always supports the CBC”.
