  1. In answer to the headline question, yes we already do. When the RCMP are giving a hand up and carrying their bags, yes is the only answer. Stupid aren’t we?

    1. Canadians have long looked the other way with regards to shady immigration. In 1987, there were two incidents which illustrated this.

      On two occasions, boats full of people from south Asia were found drifting off the coast of Newfoundland. They came across by ship, put into those boats, and were left to fend for themselves. After they were taken ashore and questioned by immigration authorities, they somehow managed to disappear into the general population.

      Those incidents were front-page news back then and, no, not every Canadian took kindly to those people going to the head of the line, though there was some “this is not who we are” scolding.

      1. As I said, Canadians are STUPID, in upper case for idiots who only can read said letters. Now there are some who can only read upper case through no fault of their own, I am only addressing the really stupid among us.

  2. I dunno. Most of Canada lives within 200 miles of the border. If the whole of Ontario was putting up with what they do in Arizona and Texas, I expect it would be hard for a Liberal to win a seat in Toronto.

      In relative terms, what we are facing at the border right now is a mere trickle in US terms.

      If Canada had to cope with what the US faces every day along its border with Mexico, we’d be singing a different tune.

  6. I’m a naturalized Canadian, came to this country legally, and went through the citizenship process properly. If my parents and I can do it, so can–and should–everyone else.

    By the way, I can prove that I am in this country legally as I still have my disembarkation card.

  7. Smug Canadians like to brag about how tolerant they are, especially upper middle class, CBC loving, Margaret Atwood reading types. Of course they’re never affected by the strength of our diverse crime gangs, and not for long do they ever live in a diverse neighbourhood. Many make their living at one level of trough or another so fiscal accountability is as foreign to them as an empty stomach.
    “We’re” very tolerant when “we’re” unaffected.

  8. The elites in Toronto spend their summers at cottages in Muskoka, so they don’t have to worry about what their policies cause in cities.

  9. The question is whether the Libs and Cons will offer a platform for such a decision is more critical. I think the majority of Canadians would say no to the question just as years after our Libs abolished capital punishment, polls showed the majority of Canadians still favoured it. The Cons wimped out on that one as well.

Immigration policy and Canadians opposition to: Liberal policy of illegal immigration, the extreme high rates of immigration being far beyond what can be assimilated to Cdn. values, as seen by the 3rd world replacement via ethnic enclaves, special status(fed. Liberals favouring immigrants over Canadian citizens), Liberals favouring political Islam immigrants dedicated to implementing Sharia law, a goal the Trudeau Liberals share.

    Yet none of the 4 mainstream parties are addressing the issue, nor is the bought and paid for Mainstream Media.

    Cultural Marxist politics is now officially dominant. (Note- the Trudeau Liberals are not speaking up for Hong Kong, nor will they.)

  12. No, we do not have illegal immigration, in Trudeau’s Canada we have irregular immigrants flooding in. We have accepted it, never hear a peep in the media or from our opposition. One word has cleared the way without definition.

    No mention of the bogus asylum seekers from the US either. Wonder if this would be ignored if the Democrats were in power? I think we know the answer.

  13. Immigration law both in the USA (1965) and Canada state legit asylum seekers do not have to cross at POEs and they cannot be charged for an illegal crossing. In effect, their crossing is no longer illegal.

    This is why Trumps rule was recently tossed. If he wants to change the law, he has to do it through congress not a rule. He should have done so when the Rs were a majority.

  14. I’ve asked several American liberals this question: If you think anyone should be able to walk across the southern border, unimpeded, for the purposes of immigration, why should I be forced to hand over a passport in order to enter the USA for the purposes of a vacation?
    I’ve never received an answer. Not once.

      1. I agree but that fact will be ignored by any political party that wants to, or has any chance of winning. This is how far socialism has crept into the very fabric of this country.

    2. Bill, exactly. This was my thought the other day when a friend told me he could go to NJ for a concert because his passport had expired, and he forgot to check till the last minute.
