The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is in full-blown turmoil.
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairwoman Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) was set to make an unplanned trip to Washington from her district Monday amid an outcry from top black and Latino lawmakers over a lack of diversity in the campaign arm’s senior management ranks.
Bustos’ sudden return to D.C., just days after Congress left for a six-week-long August recess, comes as aides and lawmakers are calling for systematic changes to the DCCC, the party’s main election organ.
POLITICO reported last week that black and Hispanic lawmakers are furious with Bustos’ stewardship of the campaign arm. They say the upper echelon of the DCCC is bereft of diversity, and it is not doing enough to reach Latino voters and hire consultants of color.

The DCCC not only needs more color working to get the Democrats elected, but they need more Radical colored senior management.

My only question is this: How does “diversity” happen, though, in a collective (like the Democratic Party)?

I left too much unsaid: soldiers being big on uniformity, doing things the same way and all working towards a common goal. A warrior is out for personal battle, glory, and loot.
So, they don’t like the way Pelosi’s pick is running the DCCC. I wonder if this came about because Bustos wouldn’t throw enough campaign cash to Reps Gonzalez and Vela. Neither one has a background ( they are both well-heeled ambulance chasers) that suggests they are allied with the four dufouses – AOC, and the others – who are House specialists in this kind of attack.
Ethnicity of senior staff sounds like just a convenient pretext for the attack.
Diversity proving to be exactly what the root word means, divisive.

Exactly what I thought when I saw a short(ish) Twitter thread with photos of derelict buildings in Baltimore, and nearly empty streets, and wondered why some of the “proud residents” didn’t take a garbage bag and pick up some of the trash or pull a weed or 2.
I often pick up garbage (empty drink containers, broken glass, paper trash) on my daily walk to my local park. And I’m not the only one. Consequently, there’s darned little visible trash in my neighborhood.
As always, identity politics is a fool’s errand: trying to keep everyone happy with just the right amount of racism.
I always wondered how the Unions could support a political party that wanted to flood the nation with illegal underpaid scab labor.
So many of the Leftist constituencies are incompatible with each other yet are encouraged to have strong exclusive group identities.
I see in the Politico article that this is apparently the third issue during Bustos’ tenure that caught employees off guard, one of which was “a controversial vendor blacklist.”
Whatever this list is or was, it sure sounds racist to me.

My guess? She was not hiring the right campaign consultants and the right ad agencies. The new staff will pick the correct contractors and vendors. The Graft must flow! I wonder if there will be a NeverBustos Movement, like the NeverTrumpers, after he pushed the Republican Establishment leeches out?
