  1. CBC Secure Drop

    How to contact CBC anonymously

CBC is serious about protecting sources. We are also serious about providing you the most secure and confidential way to reach us to share sensitive information.

In this day and age, internet traffic can be monitored. SecureDrop is a special method to securely, anonymously contact CBC and our top investigative journalists. SecureDrop will help you establish an anonymous on-line connection, and then help you to send CBC investigative journalists encrypted messages or documents.

Use only a computer you control or trust. Don’t use a work computer. To prevent someone from snooping on your internet activity, don’t go online from home or work. Connect using a network you do not normally use such as a public wi-fi at a restaurant or coffee shop.

Download and install Torbrowser. This program can prevent others from tracking you on-line as you connect to SecureDrop.

Once set up, open the program and paste the following address into the TorBrowser address bar:

    http://ad2ztmbv5vmbj7ic.onion

We’ll provide you with instructions and a randomly generated passcode so that you can communicate anonymously with our reporters and send us documents.. Memorize your code, or write it down somewhere secure. You will need the code to log back in to check for replies from us in the future. These messages are the only way we will be able to reach you.

Tip #1: Be patient. Read all instructions first. The on-line system is slower than you may be used to.

Tip # 2: Don’t access our SecureDrop server from your home or office.

Tip #3: If you wish to ensure maximum privacy, first install the Tails operating system on your computer. This is for advanced users, but it will allow you to wipe traces of your activity from your computer as well.

SecureDrop is regularly audited by independent security experts, but like all software, no form of electronic communication can be made 100% secure. Ultimately, use it at your own risk.

    1. Tell me just how anything is secure, even my post right now, when every keystroke is being archived?

  2. Tails is a live operating system that you can start on almost any computer from a USB stick or a DVD.

It aims at preserving your privacy and anonymity, and helps you to:

    use the Internet anonymously and circumvent censorship;
    all connections to the Internet are forced to go through the Tor network;
    leave no trace on the computer you are using unless you ask it explicitly;
use state-of-the-art cryptographic tools to encrypt your files, emails and instant messaging.

  3. Code Pink Shows Venezuelans Their White Skin Privilege
For years, Venezuelans have railed about how sanctimonious white lefties from the West have told them socialism was the cat’s meow for them and their country, before jetting off back to the comforts of capitalism and leaving them in the rubble. Even leftish Venezuelans have had a bellyful.

But now Code Pink has taken it to a new level, illegally occupying the now empty Venezuelan embassy in Washington, D.C…

  4. Trump just raised Chinese Tariffs from 10 to 25 percent on 250 billion in goods and added another 25 percent tariff on a similar amount. That is gonna hurt.

    Why increase tariffs? Why now?
Maybe because Rocketman popped off again?

Maybe this is just a coincidence? Lil Rocketman just finished a trip to meet with Vladimir Putin recently. I wonder how long it would take the Norks to set up their recent missile test? About the same number of days since Kim got back to North Korea? Maybe another trouble making dictator offered Lil Rocketman political support in addition to China?

The same guy that maybe stopped Maduro the Bus Driver from fleeing Venezuela? Rumors are that Vlad will trade Venezuela for what he stole from Ukraine? Maybe he will if we make the Russians whole on their loans to Venezuela?

I have no idea what is going on.

  5. I hope everyone drooled over Muhammad Justin’s statement on Ramadan Ding Dong. On his official website Justin celebrates the start of the muslim bombathon, as he explains the wonderful contributions muslims have made to Canada and how we must all fight against islamophobia. In related news, the National Post has the story of kiddies wanting to chop off heads. And don’t miss the Toronto Star’s story on how its been a tough year for muslims.

    1. Why not? Considering how he cozies up to them all the time, he’s probably one himself.

    2. Been tough yah the price of Camel Urine has gone through the roof. Rumor has it 75% of the camels have yeast infections.

    3. https://nationalpost.com/news/muslim-society-disturbing-video-of-children-wasnt-vetted
“Hammous emphasized that the Muslim American Society has no organizational link to international groups, including the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist movement whose supporters sometimes advocate for violence.”
Sometimes?! There most frequently used motto is: “Islam is the Solution”. Sounds more like the Final Solution to me.

      1. Designating The Muslim Brotherhood A Terror Group Signals Needed Foreign Policy Realignment
The Trump administration’s proposed designation of Muslim Brotherhood as a terror organization is a recalibration of American foreign policy that was a long time coming.

        https://thefederalist.com/2019/05/06/designating-muslim-brotherhood-terror-group-signals-needed-foreign-policy-realignment/?utm_source=The+Federalist+List&utm_campaign=55cdccbb78-RSS_The_Federalist_Daily_Updates_w_Transom&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_cfcb868ceb-55cdccbb78-84055819

It is about time for this.

  6. A group of researchers propose to “save energy by tacking the carbon capture machine onto [your] air conditioner.”

    From the article…

This futuristic proposal, from a team led by chemical engineer Roland Dittmeyer at Germany’s Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, goes even further. The researchers imagine a system of modular components, powered by renewable energy, that would not just extract carbon dioxide and water from the air. It would also convert them into hydrogen, and then use a multistep chemical process to transform that hydrogen into liquid hydrocarbon fuels. The result: “Personalized, localized and distributed, synthetic oil wells” in buildings or neighborhoods, the authors write. “The envisioned model of ‘crowd oil’ from solar refineries, akin to ‘crowd electricity’ from solar panels,” would enable people “to take control and collectively manage global warming and climate change, rather than depending on the fossil power industrial behemoths.”

    Sounds very expensive.

  7. Study concludes that a basic income program won’t work. It requires too much money – up to 20-30% of GDP.

    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/may/06/universal-basic-income-public-realm-poverty-inequality

So instead of a basic income program, why not kill the basic personal exemption on your taxes and use that money for better welfare programs (these people only see income redistribution as a good thing – how they get there may vary).

This is the second article I’ve read where people are floating the idea that ending the basic personal exemption is not a tax increase.

    1. It isn’t, at least the kind of tax increase that matters. The basic personal exemption isn’t good policy. It and all other tax credits should be wiped out. Flatter, lower, broader.

    1. The real question is how much money gets diverted to Liberal causes like SNC.

I’ll bet this development bank allowed SNC to bid on projects the bank sponsored… at least until the current spat with China.

      1. It probably hasn’t done anything except take a 1/4 billion dollars out of infrastructure spending in Canada but its a drop in the bucket to the Chicoms. They’re probably still chuckling about how the little potato tried to buy their respect.

      1. Beautiful, Beautiful Priceless. Worth the 2 dollar admission to hear that one. Bilious Bill and Over the Hill.

    1. Another “real conservative” hopes for AB separation so conservatives can rule.
I’ll pass thanks; the last thing I want it to be ruled by tin-eared cannibal conservatives, who’s only ability is getting Grits elected.
I’ll take my chances with the Grit fools over the fools who have no clue of reality and what it takes to reform this nation.
Go ahead throw in the towel before the writ is dropped; but I won’t. With friends like you, enemies are unnecessary.

  8. Potato farmer sues Canada for $16.5 million because he ended up in a Lebanese prison for selling rotten potatoes to Algeria that did not come from his farm…and it’s Stephen Harper’s fault.

    https://nationalpost.com/news/ottawa-worried-about-fallout-from-jailing-of-potato-farmer-documents-show#comments-area

The story doesn’t even make sense…

“Someone had doctored one of the inspection reports to say the shipment was all approved, when in fact a portion of the shipment — from Quebec — had tested positive for Bacterial Ring Rot which is a quarantine pest in Algeria.”

Unless he had taken responsibility for the entire shipment…then why not sue the farm where the rotten potatoes came from?

    1. The old sow could have introduced disease to a hog barn killing thousands of hogs. Hog farmers are nuts about sanitation.

  9. Just in case you missed it above in a reply.

This is way overdue, but will sure tick off a few people in Canada.

    1. They are entrenched in the US government thanks to Obama. I wonder if the Canadian Minister of Immigration is a Brotherhood agent.

    1. Joe what is even worse, the Jerk Off Harper was told and warned and did SFA as well. Alberta needs to get the hell out of the Criminal Cabal known as Canada. Just get out. And throw Ottawa out as well. Blockade until the UDI is finished and the Nation of Alberta emerges. Do You Hear The People Sing

    1. Does the AC Board of Directors know about this? If they have approved this nonsense then AC is not being run as a responsible, profit driven business. Shareholders should be incensed about this.
      I suggest letting them know:

  10. Regarding touring the alps on a piece of plywood and roller skates. If I wanted my face turned into a replica of a Mercedes tour bus star, that is exactly how I would go about it. Cowabunga!

        1. Nope, all it means that the proportion of people who give a shit when called “racist” by demagogues like you is decreasing.

  11. Typical Canadian Military Procurement Bullshit. Canada has already spent 500M to help develop the F35 Fighter as a partner Nation. Now they want to throw that away I guess and have an open bid. Probably the Liberals and the Military Brass were wined and dined and greased up the ass with turkey baster’s and like it, so now throw away the 500M tax dollars already spent and buy some used Sopwith Camels from the British. The bastard’s should all be locked away in an asylum somewhere and throw the damn key away.

    1. It’s a political decision. The military has nothing substantive to do with it.

That’s been the case all the way back to the Ross rifle.

  12. The Greasy Stuffed Ukrainian Sausage Freeland has no NAFTA deal and NAFTA is gone. Blame Trump, all Trump’s fault. She got former OBama Democrat to hang it on Trump. Ha Ha Ha Ha. Alberta Oil gone, Ontario and Queerbec mfg gone. GM gone. What happens when you cross a Frenchman and a Ukrainian? You get a car thief that can’t steal the damn deal, and neither one can drive anyway. Absolute Pompous Asses. They have to help each other go to the bathroom they are so damned stupid can’t find their own asses have to wipe each others ass. The Little potato and the perogy
