John – just to be clear – I don’t believe for a moment this is anything but a vote buying effort and a huge tax grab. The other astounding thing is the government believes they should monitor social media to prevent fake news. Please note the timing of the rebates and costs are structured so little pain is felt until well after the election. No one has said the rebates will increase to match the escalating tax either. Besides the pst and gst , the ripple effects of the cost will multiply and be significant. I just can’t believe anyone with an ounce (milligram?) of sense would publish such an article.

At first I thought this new “scientific” report from Ottawa, coincidentally released at the same time as the carbon tax was instigated, was just some kind of dumb April Fool joke, like that old BBC bit about the spaghetti harvest. Then I realized that it could be true: Canada may very well be heating up twice as fast as the rest of the world due to the massive belching of hot air emanating from Ottawa as the Grits try desperately to extricate themselves from the SNC Lavalamp scandal and the exposure of their two-tier justice system.
Well, so the story is we are warming faster than the rest of the world which is scarcely warming at all (or in fact not warming) so how are we to interpret this? This makes it clear that Environment Canada is complicit in deceiving Canadians. No wonder it was necessary for Harper to “muzzle” those idiots. Canada’s institutions have become politicized.
Maybe the proper headline should be;
