    A teacher asked her 6th grade class how many of them were Justin Trudeau fans.

    Not really knowing what a Trudeau fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny.
    The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different… again.
    Little Johnny said, “Because I’m not a Trudeau fan.”
    The teacher asked, “Why aren’t you a fan of Trudeau?”
    Johnny said, “Because I’m a Conservative.”
    The teacher asked him why he’s a Conservative.
    Little Johnny answered, “Well, my Mom’s a Conservative and my Dad’s a Conservative, so I’m a Conservative.”
    Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, “If your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot, what would that make you?”
    With a big smile, Little Johnny replied, “That would make me a Trudeau fan.”

    3. I think this is good news. At this point, many people are not paying that much attention, but an aggressive campaign in which the opposition parties have lots of mud to throw ( starting with the Kadhr payment, and Libs should sink nicely. They really have done pathetic job in governing — immigration, economy, taxation, pipeline, foreign policy — and it won’t be ignored by voters. Libs are vulnerable on many issues.

    1. The weather wasn’t too bad when I was in northern B. C. earlier this week to work on the house I inherited. It started turning miserable after I left Wednesday afternoon and, now that I’m back in Edmonton, it’s break-out-your-woolies again.

      I guess I didn’t pay enough carbon tax, eh?

          2. It’s not unusual to have wildlife inside Edmonton’s city limits. The critters come up from the river valley or the creeks.

          3. they are moving south into southern Saskatchewan near Moose Jaw. One bedded down in my garden a few years ago. It left before I could get some moose steaks though.

          4. They are everywhere out here, even in the middle of Calgary. It’s just a few klicks to forested foothills and they regularly show up via the numerous pathways into the center of town, like Fish Creek, the Bow River. Bears, too. We aren’t like Tronna, all concrete and glass. I get deer squads in my yard that will stay there for days, trimming my bushes. They don’t move much when I open the door and walk around the yard. We have Coyotes and Bobcats living inside the city. Warmer and lots to eat.

          5. There is speculation that the widespread practice of zero-till farming has encouraged the moose to move down into the prairie. They like the firm ground as opposed to plowed fields. Tics also drive them out of the bush. Moose are very susceptable to tics.

          6. Moose have not be normal in the prairie areas until about ten-fifteen years ago when they began to move south. Unless they were around before the prairies were settled by ‘imperialist colonists’. 😉 They are everywhere now. We had three or four move through our farm yard on a regular basis.

            The river valleys have more bush now than they had a hundred years ago so they have places to bed down and feed and water.

            You have to really keep an eye out for them while driving at night as their eyes do not sow up in the headlights like deer eyes do. You get one of those suckers in the windshield you have big problems, maybe a funeral.

    2. I am confused. I thought the Mini Ice Age of the 1600s was caused by a Maunder Minimum of the sun. These government Grant seekers seem to make up the Apocolypse-of-the-month in order to keep the cash flowing. Or is just me?
      There is an obvious solution to Global Warming in this article which, all things considered, may now be in play.

  7. I hope SDAers do not flame me too much, moving forward. But my prediction is that Justin Trudeau will win the upcoming October federal election, probably as a minority government with the NDP. One reason: the federal CRA is handing out cash rebates for the new Carbon Tax Plan, for the 2018 tax year, when voters get their tax refund back this coming May and June.

    I’m old fashioned, and still file paper income tax returns. My wife and I got our tax packages by mail this week. And there is a special form and line to fill out, to get the rebate money. My wife and I are seniors, with no children in the house, so we get $196 + 10% for living outside of a census metropolitan area. Note that this tax break applies to only the conservative, dissenting provinces with no carbon tax: Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and my turnip patch New Brunswick.

    So taxpayers in these provinces get money back for 2018, even though no carbon tax as yet has been imposed as yet. The fix is in. — David Murrell in Fredericton.

      Understand the meaning of the term “clawback”.

      Income taxes are one of the few legal areas where the government can change the law tomorrow and have it apply retroactively.
      It’s a scary thing.

    2. I agree with you David, When you look at the poll numbers it’s hard to realistically believe that Trudeau won’t win. Most people don’t pay that much attention to politics, fall into the class of “gimme my free stuff” voters and get their political information from the bought and paid for MSM. I honestly don’t think the Liberals will lose. And if they lose to Scheer, so what? As far as I know he supports the carbon tax. So if Scheer wins we will likely get one term of a somewhat conservative government who might make a few minor tweeks to try and bring us back to sanity, he will be vilified by the press as a result, then we will be back to a Liberal government.

          Foreign investment coming back.
          Pipelines built.
          No carbon tax.
          That’s not Liberal lite.

          1. Scheer among other things, should promise to dismantle the Indian Act, which everyone blames for the present situation, and “in consultation” with (actual not co-opted by foreign influence) native leaders, fix the whole mess.

          2. Hopefully so, and Shamrock is right. The Indian Act needs to go, like the one delegation of chiefs in the late 1800s did not want that.

      3. I am not a fan of Scheer, but he would be an acceptable alternative to Justin. I think the Trudeau Liberals are more vulnerable than appears on the surface. Sadly, if you live in a leftist country where Conservatives are regularly attacked, it is hard to stray too far from the middle and still get elected. That, I think, is where Max is vulnerable, as much as I appreciate his attack dog approach (much needed to help people wake up). Scheer was foolish not to make better use of him before the rift. Max could have helped assure a win. Canadians are very cautious– a Trump would never get elected, while an insipid and shallow Trudeau does get elected . . . until people start to look more closely. They will have a chance to look more closely in the upcoming election. Last time he was elected on propaganda and wishful thinking — I don’t believe that will happen again.
