    1. I did not watch the speeches, but I am curious if Nancy’s Alzheimer’s showed up? But maybe she was reading from a teleprompter so it wouldn’t show.

Pelosi and Schumer are past their best before date. Let’s hope this Bill, as described in the video, passes in the House and Senate. It sets term limits. It is a joint effort between Ted, Marco and others. I’m sure Trump won’t have any problem signing it.

      1. But, like their ideology they got the left confused with the right. Actually, that doesn’t matter to fascists so there you go.

Socialism (statism and its Marxist cousin progressivism) and identity politics/fascism are a distinction without a difference.

It’s amazing how they project their Nazism on Trump. I hear some GOP are flinching on border security.

Trump’s in it alone against both DeMarxists and wimpy, milquetoast RINOs repudiating their own positions and promises.

IOW they’re de-facto Democrats, part of the establishment true American political culture has rejected.

  1. The Democrats can’t get passed their seething hatred and do the right thing for the country. They are exposing themselves for what they are, bitter, sore losers, playing politics at it’s worst. They are really pathetic. It’s not about what’s right for the country, it’s all about power for them. The same attitude prevails here, Liberals have the same attitude, it’s in their DNA, the media in each case are right with them.

    1. Agreed; what they truly hate is being out of power and anybody who caused of facilitates that. Just ask Stephen Harper.

  2. When CNN wants unbiased coverage of a Trump speech, who do they turn to?? Why the islamic, socialist Toronto Star of course. Yes they had a journalist from the Star explain to Americans how evil Trump is. And don’t miss the Star’s stories today on how Trump and Doug Ford are evil bastards. They also have stories on how pipelines must be stopped to protect indian berry picking in B.C. and Heather Mallick explains that Nazis are running rampant in Britain and Europe, and will soon be running rampant in Canada. Vote Groper!

    1. Yep, that’s what we have for journalism, calling others what they are themselves, “evil bastards”. None of them have any respect or regard for the democratic process, they interfere with ridicule and lies. The US voters are getting a heads up with Trump calling the media on their lies and manipulation of the facts. We need the same here, the Conservatives need to put on the gloves and start swinging.

    2. “Heather Mallick explains that Nazis are running rampant in Britain and Europe, and will soon be running rampant in Canada.”

Mallick is mentally unstable of course.

The “Nazi” theme is a chimera. What few “Nazis” there are represent an utterly pitiful collection of losers. When was the last time you heard anyone, anywhere opine: “Gosh, those Nazis are so great!”?

Get serious. They have no constituency at all and, unless you actually go out of your way to get in a physical altercation with them, represent no threat.

They’re a phony threat, meant to deflect our attention from the real issues of the day.

      1. The only NAZI’s I see are the Gutless Anachists of AntiFa…earily reminiscent of Ernst Rohms SA…but without the balls. The SA were proud to show their faces.

    3. Believe it or not: that Toronto Star reporter on CNN last night was Peter Mansbridge’s son. He goes by his Mom’s last name Dale. Yes, she is Cynthia Dale….long time CBC actress. Unbelievable!
      CBC = CNN

  3. Surprise, Great Leader Kim Jung Trudeau is bored with Ottawa already. He is burning jet fuel to B.C. today to discuss the most important issue facing Canadians, whiny indians. Didn’t he just burn jet fuel there and back?

    1. This is the kind of shit that Trudeau has brought us.

Bill Giant Asshole Blair: “the police have new authorities and new tools,”
“Neuberger said under the rules, nothing stops police from going to a someone’s home, or to a bar, to demand a sample from someone under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.”
I don’t partake of alcohol when driving and drunk drivers are scum, but this is totalitarian crap.

      1. While I have had lots of respect for the police, these new powers are turning them into little gestapo agents. Maybe that is part of the Turdeau plan.

Meanwhile we now await the sentencing of the truck driver who killed 16 Humboldt Broncos. Although he appears not to have been drunk, I suspect like many drunk drivers who kill or injure people, he will get a relatively light prison term.

        1. “he will get a relatively light prison term.”

He will likely be the first person in history who is sentenced to a year in jail for blowing a stop sign. Blowing a stop sign rates a $300 fine but he committed the ultimate political crime, killing kids. He probably shouldn’t have pleaded guilty but an East Indian (or any Indian) relying on a Saskatchewan jury wouldn’t have come out well regardless.

    2. There’s burning of jet fuel and then there’s the burning of jet fuel. The important burning of jet fuel is for his comfort, his pleasure, keeping his backside safe, warm, and comfortable, all at taxpayers expense.

Then there’s the other burning of jet fuel, which is to deal with the, well, peasants. That, too, is at taxpayers expense.

It’s good to be king and well-off. One can always get others to pay one’s bills.

  4. Generally in the mornings I channel surf between BNN-Bloomberg and CNBC business’s news — not bothering to watch any of the Canadian, oligopoly news channels, corrupt as they are. Somehow, I made the mistake of getting on to CTV’s “Your Morning”, before dashing to the kitchen to boil some eggs. That execrable show is hosted by Ben Mulroney, along with two pretty thingies. Mr. Ben was talking about Trump’s TV talk, and he prattled on about Trump “breathing through his nose”, actually making heavy breathing in a mocking manner. Then one of the pretty thingies mentioned that “Trump is a mean man”. This drivel is an example of what CTV offers in the morning.

I predict that Donald Trump will lose big time in 2020, mostly because of the huge web of estsblishment-corruption amassed against him. The pto-Trump forces are much weaker than this establishment, therefore Trump will lose. What CTV offers is just one small example of the sleaze out there. Ben Mulroney, wow. I go years without catching a glimpse of this obnoxious guy, and I can see why.

    1. Ben is one of the celebrity groupies choosing to go along with the air heads instead of applying STFU and ignore politics.
He and Justin must be good friends, it they are not it’s a shame.

        1. I’m curious as to why Justin had to leave a (teaching?) position, halfway through the year??

          1. You mean the one at the same school as his friend and college roommate Christopher Charles Ingvaldson the convicted pedophile.

No idea why? Maybe someone should ask.

    2. David, have you noticed a change in BNN since Bloomberg took it over? It used to have more Canadian content and more confrontational hosts. Now it seems more promotional, more general, more international but less specific to Canadians looking to invest at home.

      1. Steve, yes indeed, and because with what you say, I watch less BNN these days. I’m interested in international business news, of course, but, as an economist who writes on Canadian domestic issues, I only watch the international news with passing interest. Besides, given that we will be having a world recession soon, my small-retail portfolio is exclusively defensive Canadian (bond ETFs, apartment REITs, utilities), and am interested in these Canadian sectors, and not so much what’s happening in China, Europe or other international areas. I have this gut feeling that the BNN news is a money-losing venture, and that the corrupt pro-Liberal Bellmedia might not continue with BNN moving forward. Having made these complaints, many of the BNN hosts still practice objective, informative reporting — a breath of fresh air in this world of corrupt journalism.

Another irritating thing about BNN, is, as a Bellmedia subsidiary, they re-broadcast news clips from the terrible CTV News network. Just now, when I was busy in the bathroom (and not able to use the mute button), BNN played a piece by Joy Malbon, reporting on Trump’s speech. Ms. Malbon reminds me of Tokyo Rose, just regurgitating Democratic Party talking points, in her unlistenable sing-song cadence — pure left-wing propaganda. She is an embarrassment to anyone connected with her.

        1. I watch Fox (never the propaganda networks masquerading as Canadian news) because their biases fit mine best.

But, I still want to parse the facts, so go beyond. This or that “journalist” opinion doesn’t mean much to me.

There was a time when the statist media wasn’t afraid to face facts. Now it’s only about “morality” and partisanship.

In my biased opinion Fox does at least a better job of that than statist mediacrats. Statist omissions don’t allow that.

Mediocracy sins of omissions are most dangerous because they prevent viewers from making informed choices.

I know that is not their goal at all; but, that’s too bad imho.

Fox’s Hannity and Carlson among others invite Democrats on their show all the time, but are turned down. Why?

I agree being persuasive is not the same as being correct, so I don’t ultimately rely on any of them, including Fox.

I expect ET is going to get Canadian gas at a discount and export it at a nice fat profit. We can’t sell it in Canada, or export through BC and the Americans will take gas. Sooner or later our gas will just be another fungible part of the American export pool. Anyone who thinks they’ll pay us a big buck when they have a surplus of their own is nuts. They’ll control the flow and the customers and therefore the market.

I already own a lot of ET and expect to buy more. This is just another example of Canada’s failure with attendant capital fleeing. I don’t expect it will get as bad as Venezuela, but who knows?

It’s affecting everything. I’m quietly divesting my Canadian bank stocks. When Alberta collapses fiscally they will lose more than 10% of their loan portfolios which will cut their share prices very badly.

    1. Hasn’t this (Alberta collapses) already happened? Alberta stocks cut themselves in half in 2018.

    1. “American personal tax rates should be 70-80% in the highest bracket.”

Heh. That’ll put Michael Moore and all the other smarmy Hollywood luvvies on the spot.

  6. And you thought The Jejeune’s admiration for the Cuba’s and China’s was something to laugh at.

    Hellooooooooooo Police State!!!

    Where were the Conservatives?

    Oh yeah. Reefer madness.

“Taking back bottles to the Beer Store? A Mississauga man discovered this past weekend that it can lead to a breath test for alcohol by police.

“He said, ‘I saw you at the Beer Store and to me you were taking back, what looked like in my opinion, an excessive amount of bottles,’” said Art, a 70-year-old Streetsville resident. He asked Global News not to use his surname.

At around Noon on Saturday, Art went to his local Ontario Beer Store and returned about three dozen beer bottles and 10 wine bottles, which his family had accumulated over the holiday season.

Minutes later, Art said he was pulled over in a traffic stop by a police officer who asked if he’d been drinking. He said he had not.

During the discussion, Art said the officer demanded a roadside breath sample. He asked what would happen if he did not provide it. The officer told him he would face arrest, a criminal charge, and a licence suspension. ”

    Where were the lawyers?

Oh yeah. Counting their future fortunes.

“However, Neuberger expressed deep concerns over the changes, which give police powers to ask for breath samples even when someone is no longer driving or near their vehicle.

It’s part of another section of the legislation, which states that any driver “commits an offence who has within two hours after ceasing to operate a motor vehicle” is still over the legal alcohol limit.

Neuberger said under the rules, nothing stops police from going to a someone’s home, or to a bar, to demand a sample from someone under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

“They’re driving on the road, they’re heading home and they arrive at home, go in to watch the hockey game, crack open a few bottles of beer or have a scotch or something,” he explained.

“A person who saw the person driving has called it in, police arrive at the house, knock on the door, person answers the door and they say, ‘Sir, we have had a complaint about your driving, we need you to provide a roadside sample.’

If the person refuses to provide the sample, he or she could be charged.

He also said police could approach a driver in a drinking establishment and make the same demand.“It’s a very draconian rule, a very significant invasion of privacy,” said Neuberger. ”

    Where were the Media?

    Oh yeah. Liberals.

Shame, shame, shame on my fellow Canadians……….particularly those with children.

Leave them a Police State you frikkin Cowards!!!

      1. This type of government cash grab is exactly what is driving, pun intended, the yellow vest protests in France. In an article in New English Review a French blogger describes the extreme tax-collection-dressed-up-as-law-enforcement practiced by the Macron government:

The Truth About France’s Yellow Vests

This one is worth a Kate post IMO.

  7. Yup. I posted it above but its best posted twice. These incremental changes are increasing in frequency.

As much as I and many others severely dislike PM Groper (and a long list of other individuals and groups), posting this kind of crap is wrong-minded. Its the same attitude Communists and Islamists have. Kill others who disagree with you.
Of course the Islamists follow through with their fatwas each and every day.

    1. Does Facebook review the accounts of the leftist stormtroopers? Of course I am referring to antifa, the leftist ‘Hitler youth’.

      1. They probably don’t but I bet the police do. Antifa perps are antithetical to police forces and are probably the biggest threat to their individual and collective security. Its the pinnacle of irony that forces protect Antifa’s right to protest authority.

  9. the local fentanyl crowd looking for a record setting year, saw my 1st OD on main street today.
given that the rate is accelerating and now less than 2 weeks into the new year, Im gonna make a guess at oh, say roughly 40 of them by the end of 2019.
it is certainly the END for them.
another gift from chirer eh? (the same chirer pm groper “admires”).

anybody want to borrow my description of lieberals in parliament as ‘trained seals’ by my guest.

  10. Just throwing this out there (no offense to Kenji). How do people in the USA manage to pronounce Stephen ‘Cole-bear’ but still call their front hall a Foy-ER?
