March Of The Deplorables

Associated Press;

Brazil’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal has declared far-right congressman Jair Bolsonaro the next president of Latin America’s biggest country.

With 96 percent of ballots counted, Bolsonaro has 55.5 percent of the votes. Leftist Fernando Haddad of the Workers’ Party has 44.5 percent.

Voters in Sunday’s runoff election apparently looked past warnings that the brash former army captain would erode democracy and embraced a chance for radical change after years of turmoil.

“…wants to privatize state companies in an ailing economy, liberalize gun ownership and mine the rain forest.”

Let the hyperventilation begin!

  1. He will just be another crazed corrupt dictator who will enrich his family and friends. He will be like Trump but with the difference that he will be murderous towards any opposition.

      1. @Deplorable
Nobody here is an expert, I am just like a lot of people here with opinions they arrive at through various information channels. But I do know some Brazilians who live next door to me for 5 months a year and they were very dubious of the new guy but totally disgusted by the previous corrupt government.

        1. canuck, 5 bucks and your opinion will buy you a medium coffee at Timmies, drop the opinion and a buck 75 will do the trick. Trump was billed a failure, even by me, before he got elected, and he has proved all our opinions wrong

          1. @NME666
Trump was billed as a poor choice for president and he has proven himself to be an embarrassment and disgrace and laughing stock as president.

    1. That remains to be seen. But at least the corrupt elite enriching their famillies won’t be so happy. I would just say you are a pessimist. Would you rather have the corrupt, JAILED, ex-president in power to enrich hisfamilly and friends.

What you do not know is that Brasil had become a corrupt cesspit, with all politicians on the take and funds being syphoned off. Crime was rampant with the narcotraficantes roaming free. Brazillians hope he will be tough and ruthless.

      1. @Robert
I knew Brazil is what you say it is. I also know that the voters had to choose between the devils the know and the devils they don’t know. And thus the new devils won. As Trump like to say “Sad” , yup, sad for Brazil. I hope your prediction comes true, but that he will be tough and ruthless against the slime that is ruining that country.

        1. Trump has people working again and is enforcing, FOR ONCE, our immigration laws and border. I don’t care if he walks out everyday with a clown’s nose on while taking questions from our benighted “presstitutes”—RESULTS MATTER.

    2. Canuckguy NB: So you don’t agree with making Brazil Great Again, which Trump is doing to AMERICA! Go Trump Go!! You like our failed PM Tru-groper. Higher income taxes for the middle class….more taxes on Carbon we as Canadians have a failed LIE-bral gov’t. Brazil was going No where with Communist gov’t. Bolsonaro wants his country back he wants to change destiny of Brazil. He wants to stamp out corruption crack down on crime wants Brazilians to be able to own legal guns to fight crime. Pull Brazil out of the Paris Accord on Climate…open up resources. We’ll have to wait and see on the Indigenous Brazilians will make out and hope they will get on board. BUT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THIS IS WHAT THE “PEOPLE” WANTED…THEY VOTED FOR!!

      1. @L
You are absolutely wrong. I DO NOT like Trudeau. He angers and annoys me in so many ways, I am on the same page
as most of the SDA is regarding Trudeau. Down the road on this Bozolo wack job, I believe we will all see that he will be
no less corrupt that the previous gang that ran the show.

    3. because the words far right are used does not mean he will be a tyrant. it all depends on who is writing the words far right. I have seen many conservatives described as far right here in Canada.

      1. @Old White Guy
Bozolo’s comments from his own lips show him to be a wacko right wingnut case.

Just to be clear, there are a lot of people on the right who are clear and sensible(like me)

  2. If Brazilians are lucky they have just elected their Pinochet, the left may get waxed by this one.

    1. Temer has already made some reforms, which were unpopular of course, but when he took over as temporary president, he said he would not run for president.

  3. Mr. Bolsonaro’s inauguration day is New Year’s Day.

If he is wise, his first order of business afterwards will be doing what he has to do to send the PT and the rest of Brazil’s globalist mafia to hell or Caracas.

    1. A Canadian: I totally agree with you statement send PT and the rest of Brazil’s globalist mafia to hell or Caracas.

  4. Whether or not Bolsonaro is the savior, one thing is certain – Brazilians are very unhappy after decades of Leftist governments. Why is that?

    1. Sure thing NPC, the world will go to war over the Brazilian election. Do you morons really need to go unhinged every time democracy does not work out the way you want?

      1. I mean just the rise of populist nationalism in so many countries, it’s obvious that at the very least tensions are going to keep increasing, no?

        1. Yes but within countries not between countries. And the tensions are increasing primarily because people refuse to ignore the never ending waves of assaults from the left. We’re not gonna take it without a fight baizuo.

        2. Nationalism does not have to lead to conflict between nations, it simply means that each nation should be looking out for its own people and interests, instead of the globalist crap where everybody lets their own country go to shit worrying about the interests of others who are also not looking out for their own interests.

          No!

Previous conflicts that appeared to be nationalist were far more likely to be the result of the last gasps of mercantilism.

Globalism and giving the power over all nations to a centralized body like the UN is far more likely to lead to the collapse of civilization all at once, with nobody left to provide a reference for warning as things go off the rails, or left standing to pick up the pieces of their failed neighbors. If we all fail together, then it is over, there is no coming back. We have lost much of the knowledge and skills that were building blocks to our present level.

        3. The so called rise of populist nationalism is due to the moron marxists who have f’ed up our countries for so long with nary a word on how it affects US. You will NEVER hear or read a report done by the MSM on how many Americans have been murdered by illegal immigrants as an example. I think the average citizen has been pretty damn patient in the face of these assaults, rapes and murders, just look at Germany and Sweden.

  5. “QOTD: “The guy who almost stabbed him to death a month ago must feel like like the biggest failure in the world” ”

Like Brexit he probably wants another go

    1. Best of all, with Bolsonaro in office there’s actually a good possibility he’ll be brought to justice.

His bosses won’t help him. They only give you a fake passport and free passage to Caracas or Dubai if you deliver. He didn’t.

  6. Andrew. You have just exceeded my limit of things I can worry about. World war is going to have to get in line with everything else.
(although I wouldn’t dismiss amplified current wars as a way to distract us from economic seizures.)

  7. D’ya remember BRIC? D’ya remember how PROUD Obama was for helping raise the stature of Brazil and celebrated Socialist Presidente’ Dilma? So much for THAT Socialist disaster! Now Brazil is the MURDER capital of the world. Socialism turned Rio into a shithole.

But nowwwww … there is HOPE for CHANGE in Brazil

    1. Yes absolutely, it will take a long time for the world to recover from Ogabe’s Apology and Reset tour. You can take a hater of civilization out of Kenya but you cannot take the Kenya out of the hater.

  8. Just as Socialists want to be considered as ‘progressive’, Conservatives should expect to be thought of as normal. Allowing socialists to regard conservatives constantly as far right cedes control of the narrative to them. Fortunately, as more and more citizens hopefully refute socialism at the ballot box, socialists can be politely referred to their own solution for untenable pain via assisted suicide

  9. Hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think this guy is any kind of a saviour.
Whether it’s a left wing arsehole or a right wing arsehole running things, a shithole is still a shithole….

  10. Why do I have this horrible feeling that the world is repeating the 1930’s ?
We all know how that ended!

    1. I highly doubt it hoppsing, there aren’t enough young people in our countries anymore to make up a usable Army, what with abortion on demand, birth control, TV and videos. The best you’ll get is a bunch of instagrammers posting their fish pouts in protest.
