  1. Kate! Kate, Katie … are you mocking Warren Zoell, Nancy Ross and I for sharing our favorite Strolling Bones tunes, down the page? And … I actually HAVE had one hip replaced … but still got down on the dance floor at my daughters wedding last weekend (to the amusement of all her friends). But I don’t drink Ensure, nor eat Jello … and can still remember my 77 different passwords to 77 different websites.

  2. Ah hah hah…Kenji, you have a way with words! As for moi…I still smile at people, now more than ever, and can still turn heads because they think I am insane. Heh, Heh!

    1. “Enjoy the music…it’s all a gift!”
Not a big Stevie Wonder fan but he had a good line:
“Music is a world within itself
With a language we all understand”
Music is good for the spirit.

    2. That brings back a few memories for me.

When I was a grad student at UBC, I used to listen to a rock station that was across the border in Bellingham. That song was on its playlist during the summer of 1980.

          1. Just got to see Joe perform that little ditty LIVE a couple years ago … with BadCo. And Mr. Walsh *looks* like the last of the Ham Radio Operators from 1941 … but still plays like a 22yo kid. If he has arthritis, he covers it up with massive doses of something REALLY good … like only a rock star can afford. Yeah … and the audience looked like they were all great grandparents (except me, of course).

          2. Who knew he was a radio amateur? Only you
B A. That last song gives one the “wa-waas!”

I saw Joe Walsh in an interview and he claims he got clean in ’94. He said he used vodka, cocaine and Camels!

Check this out if you want to see him play like a 22 year old again. Guys, lower the volume on your earbuds, it’s great! Now this is true ROCK!
Is this what you saw him play like Kenji?

            https://youtu.be/IAQy1XtFcSM

        1. Walsh still maintains his callsign WB6ACU and was featured in an ad for the American Radio Relay League a few years ago.

One story I heard was that he attributed his abilities with an electric guitar to his being a ham as that’s where he learned what to do with amplifiers.

  3. Trudeau’s big accomplishment will be making pot legal in Canada. Doubt if he were asked ‘what’s happenin’ man?’ he’d have a clue.

  4. So the Canadian government should interfere with the US election? According to Mueller, everyone else does. Maybe they might charge a Canadian kid for expressing opinions online that are shared by half of Americans like the pig Mueller did with that poor Russian girl.

This is about how Max loved us baby boomers and got busted for it!

( I was only a day’s drive away or less and too young to go and wouldn’t have been allowed anyway. Saw it on TV though.)
One of the comments … ” all this without cellphones…so refreshing!”

    1. Ken there might be some good news in this, but then the Liberals would have to win a seat in an NDP stronghold.

NDP MLA Leonard Krog has won Mayor of Nanaimo, leaving me mystified as to why he’d leave an MLA’s seat for Mayor of a small city, but maybe he knows if he toes the Party line he can be mayor for the next 20 years and the Green/Dipper government may be in peril once the economy completely tanks.

      https://www.thetyee.ca/News/2018/10/20/Krog-Nanaimo-Win/

      1. Don, Krog was left out of cabinet, and as one of the socialist stalwarts and veterans, he felt he deserved the AG or a similar senior post, instead a secretary position. Krog is also a horrid partisan but isn’t every ENDPee member? Anyways, this is a little poke in the eye to Horgan, but Nanaimo is solid commie country

        1. Nanaimo is solid commie country

Not just Nanaimo. Parksville, which is about 15 minutes drive towards the north, is well-known as a retirement community. Many former university professors now live there and we know that political leanings they tend to have.

          1. This was Reform territory not so long ago. North Nanaimo, Lantzville and yes, Parksville still send provincial Libs to the legislature, but went commie ENDP in the Las Fed election. Go figure.

Ralph Goodale has some good advice for Andrew Scheer. Forget the legalization of marijuana Andy, and get on with emphasis on revitalizing the economy and getting Canadians back to work in the resource industries.

While you’re at it, will you consider expunging the handgun ban if the Liberals enact it, or at least put laws in place that any legally acquired property confiscated by the government must be compensated for?

The hunting and sports shooting communities are big supporters of the CPC,and are a hell of a lot more important in their weight at the polls than the few conservatives who are still caught in the grip of reefer madness.

    1. Remember this play?https://www.nosweatshakespeare.com/quotes/signior-antonio-many-a-time-and-oft/

“Ralph Goodale has some good advice for Andrew Scheer…to get on with revitalizing the economy and getting Canadians back to work in the resource industries”

What the heck is wrong with these Liberals? They are forgetting that they are in power now, not the Scheer Conservatives. Jean Chreatien was pro-business. Oh well, they should just resign. Good, get out.

As Siginor Antonio said in the “Merchant of Venice”… From Shakespeare:
“Well, now it does appear you need my help?”

We wonder if it is against the Liberal Red Book to be pro- business?Perhaps Mr Goodale ought to fall on his sword? Good, get out!

    2. Was Scheer even considering this? I am not aware that he was. Seems a bit premature. I think Gooddale is trying to pin this on Conservatives. While most Conservatives were not keen on the Pot legalization, and I think we will be seeing plenty of social issues emerge, I do not think Conservatives have any plans for rescinding the legislation at this point. That would certainly be a mess.

      1. LindaL: Yes,Scheer WAS considering this. https://globalnews.ca/news/4574659/cannabis-reverse-legalization-andrew-scheer/

Scheer said if elected the Conservative government will examine the details “on the ground” to determine their course of action. Iow, to placate conservative CPC voters, he’s promised to look at the possibility of rescinding the law. He undoubtedly means, they’ll look at the books to see if it’s a money maker for the government, then act accordingly,if it’s bringing in big revenue, then it’s okay,if it’s big loser, he’ll get back up on his moral high horse.
I would prefer he look at property laws and the right to compensation for the government confiscation of legal property via change in the laws, by which I mean the Liberal’s about to be enacted handgun confiscation, with no compensation.

    3. So, instead now we have to deal with Nannystate commercials, courtesy of a Juthtin, about the horrors of pot. You can’t make this sht up! Those spots make me gag, “to keep kids safe from pot”.
If anything, now it’s easier than ever for ANYONE to get dope. Stupid Liberals and their dumber followers

  7. Very good commentary by Conrad Black regarding Faith Goldy. I am so glad someone has stood up to say how shabbily she has been treated: http://www.conradmblack.com/1430/the-demonization-of-faith-goldy .
Actually, I doubt she would have that much appeal to voters and her standing may have been increased because she is being censored. She does have some important things to say, and I think part of the reason for banning her has to do with the media and politicians not wanting to acknowledge or discuss the issues she is highlighting. That is appalling and will just make things worse in Toronto.

    Trump’s Ethanol Boondoggle Exposed

    Excerpt;

Like every master salesman, Donald Trump loves to tell his audience exactly what it wants to hear.

Last week, at a campaign rally in Iowa, Trump gave Iowa farmers just the political fodder they wanted. He even acknowledged that that was what he was doing when he made his statement. According to The Wall Street Journal:

“And my Administration is protecting ethanol, all right? That’s what you want to hear,” Mr. Trump said at a rally in Iowa on Tuesday, and give him points for political candor. Mr. Trump then announced that his Administration will now allow fuel with 15% ethanol to be sold all year long. The Clean Air Act sets standards for fuel volatility, and E15 hasn’t been allowed in the summer because it can cause smog. Most blends contain 10% of ethanol.

But Republican voting farmers – who claim to hate socialism, except for the socialism that lines their pockets – love it. And Republican voters – who claim to hate socialism, except for the socialism that lines their pockets – shrug.

    1. “But Republican voting farmers – who claim to hate socialism, except for the socialism that lines their pockets – love it. And Republican voters – who claim to hate socialism, except for the socialism that lines their pockets – shrug.”

And isn’t it always that way.

I had to just LOL! as they say when earlier this week I read that vociferous opponents of marijuana legalization,Brian Mulroney and Julian Fantino, are both investing in the industry, with Mulroney now on the Board of one of the biggest pot companies.
