Last year I saw the band ” Chicago” and ” Earth, Wind and Fire” play here in Calgary. They were wonderful. I discovered “Leonid and Friends” lately, I think they hit the air a few weeks ago. Wow! Reread that LindaL, she was trying to get fundiong for SSH to be increased to the funding level for STEM. In other words she was trying to get more taxpayer cash directed to her, with no hope of a return on investment for the taxpayer.
Those people may have had potential at one point, but once they are sucked into that Social justice void, they become a liability for all the rest of us.

Elsewhere, outside the great, bumbling, unwieldy, self-absorbed world that is Toronto’s grossly inefficient municipal government, people rolled their eyes, cried “Hallelujah!” and wondered how it could possibly have taken so long.
How hopeless is Toronto’s local government?
The city has ruinous traffic problems, but has proven incapable of remedying them. Transit has been the No. 1 priority since Moses was in short pants, but — other than jabbering away endlessly about it — little ever gets done.
Public housing is an utter disgrace and will continue to be for generations to come given the lack of willingness to address it. Housing prices are beyond reach, and the city bleats constantly about its lack of revenue, yet resolutely insists on taxing all that high-priced real estate at levels below every surrounding community. When a local man heard the city claimed it would cost $65,000-$150,000 to put some stairs in a local park, he built them himself for $550. The city tore them down and replaced them, for a mere $10,000.

Ford is right on this. And I don’t think they should have ward-by-ward representation. There should be 10 counselors for Toronto proper; and 15 for the suburbs as they are currently defined. Counselors need to make decisions on what is best for the city as a whole — so wards are not pitted against one another. Ford may need to beef up the management team, but a team of professionals should be managing Toronto — not 50 or so counsellors.
