Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Sask Premier ready to back oil/gas embargo…
https://globalnews.ca/news/4139014/premier-scott-moe-says-sask-also-considering-cutting-b-c-off-from-gas-over-pipeline-delay/
I would be very suspicious of any negotiated “settlement” in the pipeline impasse if Notley, Horgan, and the Spawn are the parties involved. Anything short of Horgan retreating with his tail between his knees means Alberta has given up something.
Penalizing ordinary British Columbians to deflect attention away from Notley’s and Trudeau’s incompetence will backfire. In fact these “retaliation” measures that are being bandied about are truly asinine.
But go ahead Notley. Try one of your idiotic ideas and see what happens.
The pipeline will never get built. Notley and Trudeau have been too stupid to realize that you cannot meet the Green Fascists half way.
BC ers can easily get rid of their current government. Having said that, Trudeau needs to be much more forceful about getting this done. That is where we are stuck, having elected a soy boy for a PM, rather than a leader.
BC ers can easily get rid of their current government.
Correction: Lotuslanders can easily get rid of their current government. The interior has very little political influence in Victoria.
But will Lotusland do so? Probably not. It has a tendency to hang on to its Dippers whenever they’re in power.
I support the threatened embargo, ideological twits like Horgan have to be hit over the head to get the message. Yes, skyrocketing gas prices will hurt many BC people, but the green theocracy will applaud it out here.
Horgan started this fight, and now he pretends to be Mr Innocent, wondering what all the fuss is about. Disingenuous pr1ck.
I hope it happens, because it will have three prime effects.
1- Impact all citizens with their vehicles and all products they buy from stores, namely FOOD.
2- The tourist industry will be severely impacted, Albertans and Washington visitors will stay away on droves, as will the RV tourists from afar.
3- The border lineups will be worse than ever, as more and more will travel for cheap American fill ups, avoiding high prices and Canadian taxes.
The unintended consequences of socialism. Some voters NEVER LEARN.

Yeah, I felt the same way about that response…. foolish and childish. And I’m a H U G E supporter of Trump’s policies.
I’m still NOT convinced that Assad or Russia are guilty of using poison gas. It simply makes no sense. Assad is winning already in that area of Syria. Why would he antagonize the world with a gas attack?
I wonder what’s really going on.
“I’m still NOT convinced that Assad or Russia are guilty of using poison gas. It simply makes no sense. Assad is winning already in that area of Syria. Why would he antagonize the world with a gas attack?”
With a big DUH from me. It makes as much sense as Russia trying to kill a spy they already had and released from jail. It is as preposterous as Russia trying to kill a spy with state of the art nerve gas and failing. It’s as ridiculous as Russia trying to kill a spy with nerve gas that only they have been known to produce. It makes as much sense as Russia hacking American political sites and leaving markers implicating themselves when it was just as easy to implicate the CIA or the Chinese. Somebody in the swamp really wants war with Russia. And Trump seems like he is willing to abandon his base to give it to them. I’ve been with Trump all along but maybe the guy really is a moron. He was elected on peace – give the people peace.

Nigel Farage breaks with ‘friend for life’ Donald Trump over military intervention in Syria
Many of Trump’s supporters have been vocal about their opposition to an attack on Syria. I believe Trump opposes such an attack (based on some of his earlier comments), but I think he is also under great pressure and at this point playing for time. Does anyone remember about a year ago when there was another chemical attack blamed on Assad. At that point Trump took a hard line against Syria and I think some bombing might have happened. What was noteworthy was that instead of the usual relentless Trump bashing, for that brief interval, media and other world leaders were praising Trump. Someone wants a war with Russia, but I do not for a minute believe it is Trump. I also am beginning to think that the generals around him also oppose war. Still, there are so many nefarious factions with power to do damage that Trump must walk a fine line. I believe his latest message was that he never stated when he would attack Syria — that is a good sign.

Dog rescue people are the new puppy mills. They are all certifiably insane. We had one steal a dog from us. We gave in because we didn’t need the publicity from a fight. We got a used dog back from a customer after a couple years and tried to re-home it. We had a vet check it and routinely wormed it. We knew somebody heading the 1,400 km to the new home so he delivered it. We never got paid the half price or so we were charging. The lady said she paid $1,600 for what what sounded like de-worming and a dose of penicillin – worth maybe $100 ?. Then the threats started. Eventually we just let her keep the dog.

“It was among the most notorious show trials of the 20th century, the prosecution and sentencing to death of Czechoslovakia’s leading communist, who had been arrested in a brutal purge ordered by Stalin.
For decades, events surrounding the revolutionary tribunal that resulted in the execution of Rudolf Slánský, general secretary of the Czechoslovak party, and 10 other defendants was shrouded in mythology – with most visual and verbal evidence apparently lost to posterity.
But an event that has fascinated historians could soon be seen in graphic detail after footage and audio recording of the 1952 trial was found. Hours of film and voice recordings, much of it mould-damaged, believed to cover most of the eight-day procedure were found stashed in metal and wooden boxes – along with millions of classified Czechoslovak Communist party documents – in the basement of a bankrupt former metal research business in Panenské Břežany, near Prague.”

During that century there were practically no sunspots…There is ample circumstantial evidence that it has a significant impact, such as the Little Ice Age that occurred during the last grand minimum, as well as the unusually cold climates that also matched past weak cycles, now, and also in the early 19th and 20th centuries.””

China Says Xi Speech Was “Not A Concession” To Trump, Denies Any Trade Talks Took Place
Last week, in an attempt to soothe jittery markets, Trump’s chief economic advisor Larry Kudlow said the US and China would probably strike an agreement to stop tariffs from being imposed – though he admitted that talks hadn’t started just yet.
Well, more than a week later, the two sides have apparently made zero progress toward a deal, because early Thursday, Beijing hit back with a pair of announcements that are sure to pop the bubble of trade-war optimism that has buoyed markets this week, according to CNBC.
First, China’s Ministry of Commerce confirmed that there have not been any trade negotiations between the two sides at any level recently. It added that the liberalization measures touted by President Xi Jinping and PBOC Gov. Yi Gang pertained solely to China proactively opening up its market – not trade.
As the Financial Times said then, all of the measures unveiled in Xi’s speech had been announced earlier, and Xi offered no new details about how they would be implemented.
China may need to reconsider those trade talks.

I agree! The Rebel often shows the other side of issues and those which the mainstream media refuse to air because they don’t “fit” their idea of what is proper. Like you, I don’t always agree with everything he says, but I am thankful to hear opposing view to the mainstream media’s “take” on things.
The one thing that university taught me was how to think critically about issues, so I don’t need to be spoon fed the “truth” about things via the mainstream media. Unlike many in the social media, narcissistic, selfie-absorbed crowd, I CAN think on my own rather than always accepting the conventional “take” on issues. I get truly worried when news outlets are “demonized” for what they say, none of which is spewing hate or racial hatred, but simply offering another viewpoint on things.
