About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

What I want to know is ... WHAT.... parts are failing and needing reconditioning? Everything? Across the board? Or is it centered in the electronics? Body parts? Where is the foul up happening? If the disgruntled ex-Tesla workers can make these charges (no pun intended), then they can be specific about what systems are coming up lame?
You owe it to your pre-purchasers ...
Best description of Musk that I have read.
Elon Musk is a messianic huckster
Elon Musk is a goofball techbro whose real business is quack philosophizing, not inventions or engineering.
Tesla is not the first new comer automaker to be undone by start up problems. Tucker, Bricklin, and DeLorean are some examples of manufacturers who were overwhelmed by start up difficulties.
It is no small task to get any production line of a new product up and running. I speak from experience, having made much of a career in manufacturing.
Having said that, it appears that Elon and company are way in over their heads, and probably never had the financial means to make it work.
I don’t think there’s a stock that survives wth as poor performance as TESLA does, without breaking it up quick.
Nortel comes to mind, but TESLA is a bigger cult, it’s gonna save the world, and deep institutional pockets are heavily invested in this bad excuse for a “success”
Musk’s biggest success is being a Subsidy Harvester!
Obongo, Jerry Brown, et al, were only TOO happy to oblige.
Well, Musk can get credit for another thing. His fanboys gave him interest free long term loans, for TESLA to burn up, pretending to be an accomplished car manufacturer.
Shyster!

Since I've seen five successful SpaceX launches this winter (four commercial and one experimental - Falcon Heavy) I would say this comment is over the top. Three of the launches scheduled successful booster stage landings, something no one else does at this time.
I blame Elon's mother.
She should have insisted he grow a pair, go home to what was then still a free South Africa and do his tour of duty fighting for what was one of the few countries left on earth still worth fighting for.
That a son died defending his country from communism is something a parent can truly be proud of. Not this space cadet rubbish.
That's why Elon (by all accounts) no longer speaks to his father. In his heart even Elon knows he's a coward. He couldn't look the old man in the eye.
I prefer Henry Fraud.
Did you see the landing yourself?
Or did you watch some CGI on television...?
Was there. We are in Melbourne for the winter not far from Cape Canaveral. We went up to the Cape for the launches (both SpaceX and United Launch Alliance). We were there for three booster stage landings. You have to choose between a good view of the launch or the landings as they are at opposite ends of the Space Center. The Cocoa Beach Pier is a good place to watch the landings which we did for the December 15, 2017 launch/landing. For the Falcon Heavy, we went to Playa Linda Beach area in the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. Great view with lots of rocket geeks about 4 miles away from the launch. Pretty impressive.

there's definitely a book on the horizon.
the same horizon his cars never got to.
something along the lines of what NOT to do when starting up a business, or perhaps another work on how to maximize gubbamint subsidies, grants, tax breaks, etc and then flee with what's left.
