At 9am @CBCSask walks back one of the two errors in its divisive "Stanley/Boushie" narrative because "one of our sources is no longer certain" of accuracy. Of course not. It was made up.

I'll also explain why the second fake assertion is inaccurate. @CBCWatch

The #Fakenews article in question is here.

"But when the RCMP left the scene that night, they didn't cover the vehicle or the area around it, leaving the driver's door wide open."
IF that is factual, the RCMP involved don't need more training, they should be fired for negligence. Any non-cop who has ever watched a TV cop show knows how important the crime scene is and would have known enough to at the very least close up the vehicle and secure the scene.
Perhaps the local RCMP would be better employed as meter maids.
I am hoping that when Alberta returns to civility following the next provincial election, we can get rid of the RCML and replace them with a provincial police force. There is a Hell of an opportunity for a reset in the offing and I hope we can seize the opportunity.
So these experts don't want provide an opinion based on not enough information, but then give their opinion on the overall investigation.
This is the same RCMP that is incredibly "quick" to come to the aid of Rural folks eh..?
Why bother even showing up...?
Agreed with both of the comments so far.
AFAIAC - This whole rotten affair is over and done with. An issue symptomatic with Eastern (french), Canadian Wishy Washiness about Gun ownership & Property Rights that the the last (_i_)hole Named Trudeau conveniently left out of the Constitution / Bill of Rights.
Given the way things are going in this country, I would have no issue saying ADIOS to her Majesty and dumping Parliamentary Democracy in favour of a 3 part Republic just like the US. Executive - Judicial - Legislative. Along with Term limits for EVERY POLITICIAN in the country....and 2A.
Cue the outrage....
Can anyone answer this question I have?
Is the CBC reporting on Boushie, MMIW or anything else Native, the CBC employees personal prejudices or is it simply the reporting that Justin has bought with his increase in State Funded journalism?
Regarding the
"But when the RCMP left the scene that night, they didn't cover the vehicle or the area around it, leaving the driver's door wide open." and the need to preserve the "crime scene"
Maybe the initial attending officers didn't see a crime scene. Maybe they saw a guy defending himself?
I would still argue care should have been taken to preserve the scene to verify
I am still extremely upset at PM Harper and the Conservative Party of Canada for not privatizing the CBC, or scrapping it totally. The CBC is nothing but a Marxist entity and does not serve the people of Canada properly at all. Any good aspects of the CBC are more than negated by its evil intent.
People have been watching too much CSI.
"I am hoping that when Alberta returns to civility following the next provincial election, we can get rid of the RCML"
The Conservatives were going to replace the RCMP but the useless piece of fecal matter, Red Ed Stelmach signed a new 20 year contract. Must be about 10 years left.
From the RCMP Website FAQs
"Can the Policing Agreements be terminated before their 20-year end date?
Yes. The Agreements clearly state that they may be terminated on March 31st in any year by either party (Government of Canada or any province, territory or municipality). Parties, however, must give notice of termination 24 months prior to the date of the intended termination."
So min of 31 months from the next election.....lots to cover off in that time frame for stand up
Ken your shooting the messenger here. It isn't the cbc who f'k the investigation it's once again the rcmp.
Scar: agreed, we were on our way to rid ourselves of the rcmp in AB until red ed squashed it. The new police college contract had been lent and ground broken when he pulled the plug (incurring huge penalties). I'm told the feds leaned on the PC's full on. The argument apparently goes like this. If AB drops the rcmp, the viability of the force is called into question. Sooo if you want to be a team player and 'save Canada' you best get on board. Stelmach folded
I disagree...the content of this post was pointing out that CBC had 'sources' that were feeding them info that cannot be confirmed now.
That was info about the RCMP activities.
Off topic: i followed the link to CBC Saskatchewan news. There is a story about a man from Delisle killed at a train crossing.
That's Kates home town. Hope all is well with you and yours Kate.
The shooting happened sometime around 5 p.m. on August 9. Assuming it took the RCMP an hour to get there, they still had at least 3 hours of daylight (sunset is close to 9 p.m. that time of year) to take pictures and secure the crime scene.
According to the CBC article:
"By the time forensic teams arrived on Aug. 11 with a warrant"
What were they doing on August 10? Did they take the day off because it was raining?
RCMP messed up on this one.
Your contribution to the Ferguson effect is noted. You can shut up now. Next time you are Zimmermaned, don't come crying to me.
What part of the case was dependent on Blood Spatter or forensics. My understanding is that the killing was NOT denied... The trivia allocated by CBC experts is nonsense that has no standing... The Jury decided it was self defense, justified homicide... The Media should confine their comments to that issue, and only that issue.. Stupidity should not be encouraged
Lilley has summed up the initial post. Could help get this back on topic.

Unfortunately, Ms Redford, in retaliation to the WildRose plank to install a provincial police force, signed a 20 year contract with the RCMP just before she got sh&tcanned from the Premier's position. Like windmills, I guess we could break that contract, but who is going to fill the ABPP ranks in any event? Probably ex-RCMP, just with another uniform & badge.
Given the fact that K Division hosts a group of willing & able door kickers, I'd prefer to recruit fresh in a lot of cases.
All in favor of fresh recruits and I believe that we would have to have some 'originals' but that would at the very least be a good start. Once operating under the direction of the province things would change.
No more damn doors kicked in, tell Ottawa to stuff their gun control crap and a few other little changes and hey, Alberta is stronger.
Maybe "Make Alberta Great Again" as a second step.
The RCMP may have bungled the investigation but this should have come out during the trial I would think. Further investigation may show if errors were made. Note though that the CBC's assertions have been largely debunked as fake news.
Just to be upfront, I lost a lot of my respect for the RCMP when the High River event occurred. In the past, before High River, other incidents had already lowered my regard for them. In fact I think they have become part of the entrenched political system now, if you know what I mean. They also, apparently against instructions to the contrary from the previous government, are busy reclassifying firearms.
I also think that the CBC has no love for the RCMP, and the military for that matter.
The cbc has been disseminating fake news for decades. I don't care what is us they say - it all has to fit the narrative. I'm surprised there are so many on SDA that who follow them? Why?
No government will get rid of the cbc. Blaming Harper isn't realistic. He realized there is no future in wiping out the cbc
hi Carl.
a recent diatribe to the local LIEberal mp, I likened the notion of subsidized print media to Pravda and any number of official state rags.
and all that entails. time to drive a stake into the heart of the LIEberal beast.
