The belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or race.
As Victor Davis Hanson explains, with countless examples, in a brilliant new piece, one of the key underpinnings of the Modern Left is to identify, separate, and very much treat differently people with different racial identities.
Progressives, in fact, seem to like the protocols of the old Confederacy in lots of ways. Southern antebellum chauvinists once claimed that the culture south of the Mason-Dixon line was innately superior to the grubby, industrial wasteland of the north. A two-class system of masters and slaves allowed an elite the leisure and capital to pursue culture without the rat-race competition of a striving middle class. So blinkered was southern arrogance that its pre-war youth insisted that southern manhood, with its innate moral superiority, could defeat a much larger, richer, and more industrial North -- a myth dispelled early on at Shiloh.
Now the new cultural divide is not North vs. South, but the blue-state coasts versus the red-state interior. The map has changed, but the new mindset of the chauvinist, mutatis mutandis, is eerily the same. In blue-state doctrine, a sinking middle class in the interior deserves to fail. But an upscale hip and cool professional elite is properly thriving on the East and West Coasts as never before -- itself often supported by legions of poorly paid and mostly minority gardeners, housekeepers, and nannies who free up their supposed betters to pursue higher things without tending to the drudgery of diapers, cooking, and mowing.

That's the heart and soul of race talks and feminism -- that any distinction is always mentioned that favors the "oppressed" group, and any mention of any weakness (ie, women tend to be shorter, slower, less strong, etc) are then branded as "racist" or "sexist".

The problem boils down to collectivism, of which leftism, Democrats, international socialism (communism), and national socialism (nazism) are variants.
Those in the collective self-anoint as superior in a combination of ways (e.g., race, skin colour) to those outside the collective.
We also have collectives today that see themselves as superior intellectually, educationally, etc.
There are those collectives which deem certain groups of humans - e.g., babies in the womb - as not human and therefore disposable.
Islam is a massive collective whose members see themselves as superior to non-Muslims and therefore anoint themselves able to use or dispose of non-Muslims as they see fit.
Interestingly, collectives such as communism, nazism, and Islam all demand 100% loyalty to the collective or death.
This behaviour of humans is ubiquitous throughout history. That's why the American colonies tore themselves away from Britain - British royalty have had this attitude of superiority - and wrote the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, that is, to protect people from the power of that most monstrous of collectives, government.
Racism:
The belief that Blacks cannot go through the steps to obtain an identity card for purposes of voting.
The belief that Latinos cannot follow the procedure to obtain legalized immigration and then naturalization.
The belief that Whites enjoy advantages solely be being White regardless of socioeconomic status.
Sexism:
The belief that STEM is totally beyond the comprehension of women.
The belief that men have not evolved beyond the Stone Age.
The belief that every sexual encounter is due to the coercion of men, even when the women only realize that retroactively.
Not racism:
The acknowledgement of the fact that different races within the U.S. and in the world have substantially different IQ test scores.
The acknowledgement of the fact that Blacks, on the average, run faster and jump higher.
Not sexism:
The realization of the fact that women are weaker and slower, and the establishment of separate sports competition is an acknowledgement of the fact that women are not athletically competitive with men.
So now ... I know how a half-black man becomes the “First African-American President in the History of the US”. If “high cheekbones” bestow an affirmative-action appointment to Harvard ... then who am I to question HALF of our last POTUS ?

Collectivism is wonderful,the wise ones sit back and advise the collected as to how they must perform.

This is what international socialists of every branch do.
They separate people into classes, races, genders and of every kind of other such to fracture the relative tolerance of those same groups toward each other.
They purposely create hate culture and of course they blame it on their favored enemy.
As long as their partners in the cartel of information help them out, it will go from bad to worse.
The only plus side of this is that the whole thing collapses once they start blaming each other.
Hate is their business and it carries on, once they conquered those that they hate, they turn on selves, this is guaranteed to happen as the darkness of night is followed by light of day.

Apt metaphor, except that 1) illegals are not slaves, they are in voluntary relationships and 2) people and their wealth are moving to urban places because they are the future in a way that the Antebellum south never was. The future is cosmopolitan and secular. So not a very apt metaphor.
