The fake "Fake News";

Attkisson pointed out that "fake news" in the form of tabloid journalism and false media narratives has always been around under different names.

But she noticed in 2016, there seemed to be a concerted effort by the MSM to focus America's attention on the idea of "fake news" in conservative media. That looked like a propaganda effort to Attkisson, so she did a little digging and traced the new spin to a little non-profit called "First Draft," which, she said, "appears to be the about the first to use 'fake news' in its modern context."

"On September 13, 2016, First Draft announced a partnership to tackle malicious hoaxes and fake news reports," Attkisson explained. "The goal was supposedly to separate wheat from chaff, to prevent unproven conspiracy talk from figuring prominently in internet searches. To relegate today's version of the alien baby stories to a special internet oblivion."

She noted that a month later, then-President Obama chimed in.

Half the country wants to know why the press won't cover the growing scandal now implicating the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice, and threatening to reach the State Department, Central Intelligence Agency, and perhaps even the Obama White House.

Read that second article that Kate links, from the Federalist!

To ask the question why they aren't covering the scandal (and it's bigger than Watergate) is to answer it. The left's march through the institutions is all but complete.

If you haven't already, you all should get Sharyl's book 'The Smear' It's a great read, very informative about how the media conspires to push the narrative.

It would be nice to see something serious. Maybe, potus Trump could assign all network expenditures to Democrat party campaign spending.

Would like to see that is Saskatchewan. SGEU has a 100% track record of putting out ads supporting the NDP (their political wing) and trashing everyone else. Why aren't union dues paid to the SGEU, counted as political donations. Why isn't add money spent by the SGEU, counted as political donations. Why has no one in the country ever pointed the campaign finance people down the throats of unions. Why has no one ever been arrested over the obvious conflict of interest of the NDP party giving raises to the NDP affiliated unions whenever they get elected. The NDP unions giving money to get the NDP elected so they get more raises.


Right to work legislation needs to come to Canada. And union members need to be declared an invasive foreign species and an eradication pogrom started.

Likewise the vast majority of CBC spending should by allocated to Liberal Party election expenses. That should keep them from spending another nickel until sometime in the next millennium.

Not to underplay the Fake-News media's staggering dishonesty and bias, but the anti-Trump coup scandal is also very complicated and I doubt most journalists (a stupid fluffy bunch) and most of their audience is capable of grasping the details nor do they have the knowledge or intellectual basis for understanding its implications.

As far as I'm concerned, all media news is ipso facto "fake news" to some degree or another. It represents a type of information tailored to meet any combination of the following aims:

1. attracting and holding a demographic viewer/reader/listener base for circulation/ratings purposes;

2. advancing the ideological viewpoint of the organization that produces it; and

3. catering to the preconceived notions of the target audience (see 1).

That is amusing, if the "Fake News: meme was started by the media wing of the progressives it was a spectacular own goal.
For every "deplorable" thought, mainstream media, every time the media shrieked "Fake News".
I thought they were bragging about their own product.

They have been losing customers for decades,the public was largely ignoring them already.
And Trump took it as a gift and rode it all the way to the White House.

Problem for the old media is Fake News is true.
Their bias spun out of control decades ago.
Never content to tell the whole story, they morphed into demanding we accept only their point of view.
Hectoring ,lecturing and attempting to shame and intimidate.
While insisting on their right to lie by omission.
We know they fear and hate us.

As they all fell into Trump derangement Syndrome, I cheered for them.
Nothing sells like insulting and antagonizing at least 50% of your potential market.

And after a full year ,these self annoited intellectual superiors, keep telling every citizen how much they hate and despise us.
Yet they are the "smart ones".

I looked up "unseemly" in the US criminal code. It said "UnMe is an idiot, so don't listen to that nonsense."

Same result for "creepy affections."

OTOH found lots of references for:

- lying to judges
- employing foreign agencies to create smear dossiers and trying to launder the payment through a 3rd party
- surveilling political opponents with fraudulent due process claims.
- influence peddling
- breach of trust; misusing public office
- lying to Congress (Mr Brennan you're busted)
- pay for play with Ukrainian and other unseemly interests, the actual law not leftist propaganda.
- gross negligence (and that is charitable to Hillary - she knew exactly what she was doing).
- fixing leadership campaigns and presidential elections.
- sedition
- and much, much more as an avalanche of wrongdoing becomes quite apparent quickly.

I particularly enjoy the one about the Sask Party taking apart the health system by pulling away vital pieces. I assume they are referring to private MRI's and other such innovations to try to shorten waiting lists. It's ironic that the NDP, while in power, also pulled away vital pieces of the health system. These vital pieces were called hospitals.

They will have heard nothing about the investigation of the corruption of the FBI, DOJ, State, CIA, DNI, and likely other agencies. When dozens of indictments are handed down, dozens of card-carrying progressive Democrats are arrested and charged this will be the first they hear of it. The result is likely to be a shock similar to the election of President Lincoln, or the British marching to disarm Lexington and Concord.

I have no idea what will happen next, but if the results of the two examples above are apropos, the very fabric of the Union could be in jeopardy. Americans were founded out of a civil war; we later fought a national Civil War, it is not out of the question to contemplate that new civil conflict could erupt. The civic fabric is threadbare after decades of culture wars, atomization of society, and a turn from public duty.

Jefferson wrote the greatest aspirational, world-changing, document in human history, the Declaration of Independence. The success of the most magnificent experiment in human history required unity. And so, we were united, although some of the people did not meet the lofty ideals set out in the Declaration.

The Declaration was not a limit but a brief sounding of the American ideals. Since its creation, we have discovered other essential rights institutions which ensure the American ideals and Americans ability to pursue them. These include republican government, free markets, individual liberty, personal responsibility, the right to freely and securely own property, the rule of law, the government strictly limited by a constitution, free association, including religion, speech, assembly and other rights.

The most celebrated experiment in human history cannot be derailed because a small part of the American population detests American ideals and is willing to undermine the experiment.
