Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Stevie Vaughn was an excellent player but I don’t think he influenced that many people.
What a terrible list. Jimmy Page ranked ahead of both Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton. Not on your life. And no Freddie King or Buddy Guy. Rock and roll guitarists stole more riffs off those two than they could begin to count. And Peter Green or Mick Taylor could play rings around the many noodlers on that list. And why include Django Reinhart if you are not going to include Charlie Christian or Wes Montgomery?
I’m surprised that Mark Knoffler and Chet Atkins weren’t on that list.

Turkey Threatens to Invade Greece
Turkey’s ruling party, and even much of the opposition, seem intent on, if not obsessed with, invading and conquering these Greek islands, on the grounds that they are actually Turkish territory.
“The things we have done so far [pale in comparison to the] even greater attempts and attacks [we are planning for] the coming days, inshallah [Allah willing].” – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, February 12, 2018.
The head of the state-funded Directorate of Religious Affairs, the Diyanet, has openly described Turkey’s recent military invasion of Afrin as “jihad.” This designation makes sense when one considers that Muslim Turks owe their demographic majority in Asia Minor to centuries of Turkish persecution and discrimination against the Christian, Yazidi and Jewish inhabitants of the area.
Turkey is a member in NATO but not the EU. This could get dicey over there.
It was good to see Robert Fripp and Steve Howe on the list. But why no Julian Bream or Andre Segovia?

“Trudeau’s Sikh Problem
We suspect Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, now off in India, will be pressured by the media there to answer to their belief that Canada is a hotbed for separatist Sikh extremism.
There is real validity to this.
The 1985 bombing of Air India Flight 182, while it may seem like a 100 years ago, was planned on Canadian soil, carried out on Canadian soil, and still represents the greatest mass murder in our country’s history with the death of 331 innocents, including dozens of children, being blown out of the sky.
Only one person, Inderjit Singh Reyat, was ever convicted in the atrocity while the men acquitted are still idolized among Sikh extremists in British Columbia and the Greater Toronto area for their bloody-handed commitment to a separate Sikh country of Khalistan in the Punjab region of India.
Attend virtually any Sikh parade or festival, and you will see posters celebrating these men as heroes to the cause.
It makes for dodgy politics, particularly among the Trudeau Liberals who look upon the 500,000 Sikhs living in Canada as a very important voting bloc.”

Elections commissioner examining Liberal MP Majid Jowhari’s fundraiser
The office of the elections commissioner is examining a fundraiser organized by Liberal MP Majid Jowhari that is opposed by his own Richmond Hill riding association but endorsed by federal party headquarters.
Mr. Jowhari, an Iranian-born Canadian who has advocated for closer ties to Tehran since his election in 2015, has organized a $150-a-plate fundraiser scheduled for Feb. 23 at Le Parc Dining and Banquet in Markham, Ont.

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/02/19/justin-from-canada-attempts-backup-option-for-trade-mistakes-fails-miserably/#comments
The basic issue is a simple one; for the U.S. NAFTA has a fatal flaw. Canada and Mexico are used by China and Asian nations as a way to work-around direct trade with the U.S. and use NAFTA as a backdoor into the U.S. market. It works out great for Canada and Mexico, but terrible for the U.S. It’s a structural issue and no amount of negotiation is going to remove the fatal flaw unless Canada and Mexico agree to terms that are directly against their current financial interests.
Ergo POTUS Trump is positioned to withdraw.
Trying to keep the U.S. in NAFTA, but understanding the likelihood of exit, Justin from Canada originally approached China for a big trade deal. Justin didn’t find Happy Panda in his discussions; instead he found The Red Dragon behind the Panda mask. China was willing to talk trade, but China tiered their approach because Canada is only valuable to China as long as the NAFTA door is open. Without NAFTA China has no use for Canada.
Justin left China with dragon burns and immediately realized his trade cards were getting weaker by the day…. so he had to sign-up for the Trans-Pacific-Partnership. Unfortunately for Justin, though some think he didn’t realize the consequence, signing TPP guaranteed POTUS Trump would exit NAFTA.
Read the whole damn thing! Now we know why Trudeau and the liberals backed out of the TPP originally. It wasn’t over gender issues or equality. He was told signing TPP guarantees NAFTA exit. Trudeau got played, big time. Now what does he do? His only way out is to go along with Trump on the China deal. Essentially pissing off his base who he has wratched up against trump and his white, nationalist base. Trudeau, liberals, progressives, the Canadian media have been increasingly demonizing whites, conservatives, Republicans, christians, bi-lateral trade agreements. How does Trudeau make this idealogical flip? He can’t. Remember how liberals always double down when shown they are wrong.
It would be wise for Scheer and the loyal opposition to pay real good attention here (and read the article from Sundance above).
Way too many interchangeable rapid fire scale noodlers.
Lists are dumnnnnn mmmmmkkaaayyyy !? I was pleased to see Steve Howe and Brian May on the list, but as much as I admire the songwriting skill, and percussive guitar of Pete Townsend … he’s no guitar “great”. And I dearly love John Fruisciante … but … many guitarists ahead of him (although I LOVE the surf-sound of that fender jaguar). Joe Walsh is missing from the list (shamefully). My personal bias showing but, not a single Steely Dan guitarist starting with the recently departed Walter Becker (I believe he wrote the guitar solos for Bohdittsatva … try writing THAT let alone play it) and, Denny Dias, Skunk Baxter, Larry Carlton, Rick Derringer, Elliot Randall
This list is heavy on the metal head shredder, speed players. Speed does not equal composition, writing, musical timing. The spaces BETWEEN the notes are as important as the notes (as any music aficionado understands). TBH … I am never interested in a top-xx list of anything that leaves out the “composition” music writing skill of the player … along with those who create their own “signature sound” (that’s called talent AND creativity).
I am more interested in lists of “the greatest guitar solos in Rock Music” (and other genres) to determine the TOTAL guitarist … their technical skill to go along with their writing skill. Wherein, you will find;
Keith Richards … wrote some of the most memorable riffs and lead in all of rock
Billy Gibbons … ZZ Top
Robbie Kreiger … nobody wrote/played the psychelic sound better
Neil Young … Cortez the Killer grunge delight.
Ted Nugent … Nuuuuge!
Randy Rhodes … Ozzy
Allen Collins … Skynard Freebird
Kirk Hammett … Metallica

“Is India’s government ‘snubbing’ Canada’s Justin Trudeau?”
NEW DELHI — Justin Trudeau, Canada’s heartthrob leader who has near rock star status in liberal circles, is stumbling to make a good impression on his week-long trip of India — at least according to the local press.
Indian media reports that the government here has “snubbed” the Canadian prime minister and that his delegation has had trouble meeting with counterparts here. To top it all off, Trudeau misspelled “Gandhi” in a now-deleted tweet sent from the revered Indian leader’s ashram.
Trudeau, so often praised for dazzling on the world stage, is apparently being given a cold shoulder by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Modi did not greet Trudeau at the airport with one of his famous bear hugs, instead sent a junior agricultural minister to do the honors, media reports noted.
Then, Modi was out of sight when Trudeau visited his home state of Gujarat, and the social media savvy Indian leader hasn’t even sent Canada’s first family a welcome tweet.”

The Case Against Google
Once Foundem.com was available to everyone, the company’s honeymoon lasted precisely two days. During its first 48 hours, the Raffs saw a rush of traffic from users typing product queries into Google and other search engines. But then, suddenly, the traffic stopped. Alarmed, Adam and Shivaun began running diagnostics. They quickly discovered that their site, which until then had been appearing near the top of search results, was now languishing on Google, mired 12 or 15 or 64 or 170 pages down. On other search engines, like MSN Search and Yahoo, Foundem still ranked high. But on Google, Foundem had effectively disappeared. And Google, of course, was where a vast majority of people searched online.

I recall back in the sixties, seeing an interview with Jimi Hendrix, where the interviewer asked him, “What’s it like to be the world’s greatest guitar player?”. If you want to even be considered, there are three criteria you must meet just to get in the door. You must be able to play by ear immediately whatever you hear. You must be able to theorize what would be a proper compliment to any melody, and you must be able to read music. That alone kicks most of those people off the list. The criteria for these lists seems to be more of a fanboy thing.
Wow! I am watching Milo hosting a segment on Alex Jones saying that all the school shooters have been on behavior modifying drugs. That’s the difference from prior years when school shooting were unknown. Instead of letting kids punch each other and determine their pecking order separating leaders from followers, they try to control natural behavior with drugs. It hasn’t worked.
Milo wouldn’t agree but another thing I have read is that with big families homosexuality, transsexualism, and similar afflictions were rare because siblings and extended family members policed behavior.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has yet again been caught exaggerating ‘global warming’ by fiddling with the raw temperature data.

“Why India is being really rude to Justin Trudeau
India is giving Canada’s Justin Trudeau a royal snub.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi routinely lands up at the airport to receive world dignitaries. From the moment a world leader sets foot on Indian soil, Modi’s photo ops begin. Who can forget the famous Modi hug reserved for world leaders?
Modi’s Canadian counterpart, Trudeau, is equally an ace at producing visuals of himself doing things. When they landed in New Delhi on Feb. 17 on the beginning of the Canadian prime minister’s week-long trip to the country, the Trudeaus came out of the plane with a namaste, the traditional Indian greeting. But Modi wasn’t there to receive them. No Modi hugs for Trudeau. Instead, Modi sent his junior minister for agriculture. Modi hasn’t even welcomed Trudeau to India on Twitter, instead busying himself campaigning for a state election in the south.
It gets worse.”
