Unfashionable History

Those who mourn the demise of Aboriginal culture almost always regard things from the viewpoint of the men, who were indeed dispossessed of their land, and subsequently their traditions and status. Land wasn't the only item of property they lost, however. They also lost or traded their women to the settlers, and this absorption - along with frontier warfare and disease - rapidly eroded tribal structures and doomed Aboriginal traditions to obsolescence. The settlers arrived with a wealth of goods and a shortage of females, and they were generally less enthusiastic about beating women than was customary in Aboriginal culture... The men lost a lot in the invasion, while the women had little to lose and plenty to gain.

Kerryn Pholi on Aboriginal taboos. One of these.

Every Canadian should read "Journey to the Northern Ocean" by Samuel Hearne. Published in 1795, it describes the author's travels (and travails) from Fort Prince of Wales to the Arctic Ocean, through territories of the Cree, Dene and Inuit. His descriptions of indigenous culture are enlightening, because they show very clearly that women were property, and often did much of the physical labour.

To this day first settler women are enthusiasts when it comes to white men. I know quite a few who married out of their culture.

The myth making is alive and well on the west coast. We are told historically inaccurate fallacies, that the natives were at one with nature, that they were peaceful, and that they only used what they needed.

They were a warring Neanderthal species that took slaves.........

Now, the government is forcing all their staff to attend courses about native mythology, for awareness,......cuz we are blessed to be allowed to occupy their land.........every speech and ceremony by schools and government here, includes that garbage. It’s sickening, and blatantly untrue.

It has been proven from time immemorial and as recently as WW2...the women of a defeated culture/civilization will willingly mate and reproduce with the conquerors. It's just their (women's) way. The conquered men will die off but the bloodline will be mixed with the conqueror's through their women. Think of the Assyrians, the Phoenicians, the Picts, etc.

The men lost a lot in the invasion, while the women had little to lose and plenty to gain.

You see similarities today in Europe, the Scandinavian countries and here in Canada.
Women are welcoming the Muslim settlers and more than just a little enthusiastically over Western men. This despite the burkas and tall building tosses. Same story.

let's ask someone who was actually there...

Letter from John Ferguson to William Claus, Deputy Superintendent General, Indian Affairs, 5 March 1819, concerning threats made by Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte to passers-by; the influence of white lumbermen over the Mohawks; lineage (in relation to a General Order on 2 November 1818 that presents should not be given to the descendants of Europeans):

“Will not a difficulty arise, as to who these people are? In the Mohawk village here, a large proportion are the immediate (perhaps the second generation) descendants of Germans; there is also a family of immediate descendants of Africans: Are they to be considered as Indians? There are also some descendants of Americans, whose ancestors were Europeans. Will they come within the intention of the Order? In fact there are but few real Indians amongst them.”

I recently finished 'War before Civilization: The myth of the Peaceful Savage,' by Lawrence H. Keeley. Savage is an understatement for the life lived all over the world until Civilization. Once of the places studies was northern British Columbia, where 30% died violently.

Ann Coulter made this point in her last article about the Democrats' treatment of American blacks, allow me to paraphrase it...

Liberals treat our natives like the wife who irons her husband's shirt for a date with the mistress.

I believe Liberals' coddling and babysitting attitudes towards natives combined with their independence-sucking welfare policies have done more to damage natives identity/independence than the average boarding school experience did. Yet, I believe Canadian natives dutifully vote Liberal by a large margin, such is the power of graft and myth.

That's still considering the Liberal's absurdity of funding and importing tens of thousands of destitute third-worlders(competitors for OUR limited resources) when we have massive social problems here already that reach well beyond just our natives' struggles. Addiction, depression, just to name two, have seriously crippling effects on our societies and economies. Yet, these societal ailments get little more than platitudes from politicians, neglected to the point where we have health care systems that require our already overwhelmed law enforcement officers to be our front-line drug addiction and mental health care workers, too. Despicable way to treat the mentally ill(not to mention our cops). But, why should I be surprised, the out-of-touch, self-interested, trough-gorging, power-whores that 95% of our politicians are.

Sorry, but that felt too good to stop, back to the article...

Leftards are themselves such racist thinkers, that they must honestly fear an 'aborigiphobia' backlash if people understood the violence inherent in most native cultures. I believe that the 'inconvenient' but cold, hard truth that it is aboriginal men making aboriginal women disappear is what has seemingly stopped the Liberal's inquiry dead in it's tracks, we will see. Just more cases of political correctness crushing truth under it's heel.

One of my favorite expressions of all time is ... “the soft tyranny of low expectations”. The installation of PERMANENT welfare for an entire racial group is perhaps the most condescending behaviour imaginable. Yet the leftists who nick a little off the top of each do-gooder program are too full of themselves to see their own RACIST behaviour.

The Aboriginals make good pets, for the Prog’s. In fact, come to think of it ... Prog’s think EVEN MORE of their Animal Pets by giving them human rights while they simultaneously dehumanize the Aboriginals.

They also, to this day have only been able to come up with one song. Sing it with me,don't pretend you don't know the words... "Hi ya hi ya hi ya hi ya....

"They also, to this day have only been able to come up with one song. Sing it with me,don't pretend you don't know the words... "Hi ya hi ya hi ya hi ya...."

Dat's not true. B'rijinulls sing Hi ya hi ya hi ya. But us Dijinuss guys sing Ya hi ya hi ya hi.

An if you look real close, you'll see dat we dance clockwise an d'udder guys dance counter clockwise.

I believe you can tell the level of development of a people by their ability to make music.
If you look at our beloved Aboriginals and their "hi yi yi yi yi yi" thump thump thump, and compare it to the music of African tribes, ours come out looking very primitive.

From African tribes to the tribes of Tibet, they had a structure and rhythm to their music, our Abos have hiyiyiyiyiyiyiyi repeated until forever.

It wasn't Abos who invented the Blues. Not even the diddley-bow.

Also a good read:

The Mayflower A Story of Courage, Community, and War
by Nathaniel Philbrick.

My daughter's grad ceremony was dreadful.

20 minutes of hiya hiya while they SLOWLY processed into the hall.

Then the apologies for being "on their land".

Any Rand warned of worshiping the primitive. We have fallen into the trap.
The first settlers have not evolved sufficiently to deal with a modern first world culture. It's not racist it's fact.
They require looking after. That is what the Indian Act does.

Don't give me that "thousands of years of oral history" bulshit... Christopher Pauchay
couldn't even remember where he left his kids...

"The rate of deaths from injuries is 3 to 4 times higher for Aboriginal children than
for other children in Canada."

That's because they live closer to the Great ... "turtle god" ... who requires a certain number of ritual native sacrifices.

And don't you DARE forget! Their primitive, bloodthirsty god(s) - GOOD! Your loving, benevolent, forgiving GOD - BAD!

Vengeful god(s) ... Native cultures
Happy God ... Christ

Which do you want, Rod, Todd ? Happy GOD or a Vengeful god ?

"dead in its tracks"
I think you're onto something there.
'simplest explanation', 'shoe fits', etc
as far as any tangible outcome, according to The Bard (from Hamlet) "words words words".

kenji observes... Their primitive,
bloodthirsty god(s) - GOOD!"

go tell that... to a jesuit...

you can't get much more racist than treating full grown adults like they are incompetent children that need liberal guidance!

If by "aboriginal culture", they mean stone age hunting and gathering, I am going to guess the indians don't miss it either. They were quite happy to trade beaver fur for metal pans, knives, firearm wool blankets and whiskey.

... and brightly colored beads they sewed into beautiful garments which now fetch far more $ millions than Beaver pelts ever did. Thank you European glassmaker trade beads!! What a wonderfully positive exchange of cultures!

... now about those casinos ...

LOL...twenty years ago I stayed at an RV park, on native land, in Duncan B.C.; it was adjacent to their community centre, and while we were there they hosted a get together - THREE days of non-stop "Hi ya hi ya hi ya hi ya...."

"Change the freakin record" I felt like screaming!

This is conveniently forgotten by most, just as the fact that women were used as pack animals before the arrival of that dreadful ubiquitous "White Man".

a warring tribal culture with no written language, limited agriculture and no wheel. tribal wanderers.

And the reason they were nomadic was, that they destoyed the area where they were living.

Historical documented by the first explorers.
