I looked up the URL for that comment and then checked the web page for authors of that bilge. Neither of them is a scientist or engineer, but, instead, educationists. In other words, they are professors who teach about teaching.
And people wonder why I quit my job as an instructor at a post-secondary institution…..
I’m offended that modern feminists, progressives and leftists think they have the right to speak for women. I’m offended that they are basically saying that all women are silly, stupid, weak and incapable of working in STEM without the assistance of gender studies scholars. I’m not offended in the shrieking, whining progressive way, but in a GFY way. The left needs to projecting their fragility and neurotic personality disorders on other women.
Oh, while we’re at it, let’s not forget astronauts such as Dr. Peggy Whitson, Col. Eileen Collins, and Dr. Sandra Magnus.
Col. Collins wasn’t just an astronaut, she flew the space shuttle and commanded 2 missions. Dr. Whitson commanded the space station twice and has accumulated more than 60 hours in extra-vehicular activities. Dr. Magnus also flew on the space shuttle, served on the space station, and commanded a crew in an underwater habitat used for training astronauts.
Yup, that STEM field is sure oppressive to women, isn’t it?

It was back in 1970 I too learned the language and the funny stuff that popped out because of errors in the coding. early on, it was overlooked that logic errors could sneak in. it was Ms Hopper who took on that challenge that the computer system itself would point out the coding errors, if only the semantics.
How did Joan Curran designer of radar jamming and Canada’s Elsie MacGill designer of fighter planes manage to succeed in the 40’s? Perhaps it was those heteronormative values of hard work and competency combined with talent.
Heddy Lamarr also worked in a field related to radar jamming. Apparently, she and composer George Antheil developed a torpedo guidance system that utilized spread spectrum and frequency hopping techniques to avoid interference signals.
I suspect that the last thing women of science want is to work with lame, angry feminists who think feelings and virtue signalling are more important than facts and objectivity. They need to keep their BS activist “science” out of real science and be told in the most direct, even rude, way that most of what passes for deep thought in humanities and social science is incompatible with the scientific method. It amazes me that they aren’t embarrassed by the rambling, incomprehensible nonsense their (psuedo)intellectuals produce.

Hardy Lamarr was brilliant, with an I.Q. way up there. Their theories were at first dismissed, it must have been very frustrating….well she was only a Hollywood actress. Thing is, she had an affable enough nature, to realize that she (they ) would be dismissed.
As always, I have a simple solution … all the “intimidated” girls can obtain their science lessons from the Khan Academy. There, I fixed it. Simply watch a YouTube video in the privacy of their bedroom, surrounded by stuffed animals and dolls, and learn science and math. No problem … you can even stay in your PJ’s! No boys in sight … unless you have a pesty little brother. But a sternly-printed KEEP OUT sign should cure THAT “patriarchal”, “heteronormative”, construct.
I wouldn’t suggest that serious scientists would ever work with such people. Feminists co-opt science for their own ends.

They want to purge “masculine” traits like precision, logic and reasoning, and yet still expect the heat to come on when they turn up the thermostat!
