  1. Take comfort in knowing Justin’s lasting legacy will be Trudope and the fact that when Canadians travel abroad we will all be extra super duper checked at border crossings because we come from Canada.
We will all fondly remember when we proudly wore Canadian flags on our backpacks. After JT made sure we all have legal access to “dope” when we travel we will want to hide our Canadian identity.
Justins lasting legacy. Trudope. And inconvenient travel for Canadians.

  2. The only difference between the Borg and Islam is that the Borg are fictional.

  3. Yikes, she said that!?
A cougar killed a cow last summer and a neighbour’s horse. I’d sleep better knowing there is one less cougar. There must be something dopey in the water in Ottawa; it’s good for everyone that Harper got out when he did.

  4. That’s too bad. I did not get the impression that she was generally opposed to hunting, but rather opposed to the way it was done, followed by callous bragging. A lot of people agreed with her view. I did.

  5. people who have only lived in cities are dopey, there is something in the water. …..captcha……..piscine.

  6. Robert, wonderful clip of Judy Garland singing but you should put a trigger warning on it. Some people might get upset when Tootie is beheading snowmen. Looks too much like an ISIS recruitment video.

  8. Think Canada is getting it’s lock picked in the Ukraine? The interpreter who was in the room with bongo and the Uke prime minister has been arrested as a ruskie spy. Wonder what our lite weight foreign affairs minister divulged to her hated russians? Ha ha.
The Uke’s as double agents? Just askin’

  9. Merry and Happy to you and I totally agree with you. Have not seen the video but news indicates she was concerned about THE WAY the hunt was done – dogs, hunting to exhaustion etc. Guess some get a thrill with this but I disagree.

  10. Agree with you on Laureen, who I have met a couple of times and is just a super person, that she is absolutely right on her post. As a supporter of hunting for food I find chasing this beautiful huge animal with dogs, treeing it and then putting a couple of arrows in it hardly sporting.

  14. It’s Laureen Harper, not Loreena. Winston Churchill said ““After all, when you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite.” Let’s get the crazy cat lady’s name right.

  15. Bitcoin has lost 40 percent of its value,
buying and selling had to stop.
I hope those that mortgaged their houses got in early and could get out quick.

  16. The WinkleVii twins (LOL), made famous by the movie “Social Network”, the story of Facebook’s origins, were very early investors in Bitcoin. While they got “screwed over” by Zuckerburg (but still received a rumoured 9 figure settlement nonetheless), the Winkleviis have become Billionaires with their Bitcoin investment
The easy money was gone a long time ago

“Delingpole: Christmas Is Here, Everyone! EPA Officials Are ‘Leaving in Droves’
Environmental Protection Agency officials are “leaving in droves”, reports the New York Times.
More than 700 people have left the Environmental Protection Agency since President Trump took office, a wave of departures that puts the administration nearly a quarter of the way toward its goal of shrinking the agency to levels last seen during the Reagan administration.
What marvellous news to ease us all into the festive Christmas spirit, eh readers?
Why, it’s like the final scene in A Christmas Carol where Scrooge repents of all his miserliness, his nephew Fred gets a big fat turkey, Bob Cratchit gets a pay rise and Tiny Tim declares “God bless us, every one!”
Not, of course, that this is quite the way the New York Times sees it. It wants us to believe that this is an attack on both science and the environment.”

  18. Not a bubble.
There is a company, Long Island Iced Tea that changed its name to Long Blockchain and tripled its stock value. A bunch of companies are adding Blockchain to their name or mission statement to cash in. Reminds me of the Linux bubble of about 10 years ago.

  19. “More than 700 people have left the Environmental Protection Agency since President Trump took office,…” Yes, that is a great Christmas present for the American people. It would be nice if Canadians could get a nice Christmas present instead of IQ80 lumps of coal for two years now.
Some of our children and grandrugrats are starting to roll in for Christmas in a few minutes and will stay for three days so I will take this opportunity to wish Kate, Lance, Robert, the rest of Kate’s helpers, and all fellow commenters a very Merry Christmas.

  20. As everyone knows, Sears is closing down here in Canada. Earlier this evening, I chatted with a sales clerk at the outlet next to where I live.
It appears that the Bay may be next. Apparently, the store in the same shopping centre has been laying off managers. That’s definitely not a good sign, but not altogether surprising. The Bay’s been in trouble for years, even when it made its arrangement with Saks.
