Thanks for this Lance.
I went to the local Remembrance Day ceremony yesterday. I began to cry. Two of my life long buddies are gone. There were seven of us junior subs. I cried for my nephew who is suffering PTSD, but has a strong wife.

Liberals once again kicking the armed forces when they are down.
A controversial new policy is causing anxiety for some members of the Canadian Armed Forces who risk losing monthly allowances they receive for high readiness and high risk duties.
Such salary top-ups will now be terminated if personnel are sick or injured and cannot return to active service after more than 180 days, as CTV’s Mercedes Stephenson first reported Wednesday. http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/allowance-cut-worries-canadian-forces-members-angers-opposition-1.3671636

The Steele dossier has already become a thing of John le Carré-like intrigue—British spies, Kremlin agents, legal cutouts, hidden bank accounts. What all this obscures is the more immediate point: The dossier amounts to one of the dirtiest tricks in U.S. political history. It was perpetrated by Team Clinton and yielded a vast payoff for Hillary’s campaign.
Best health care system in the world! Objects left in Alberta surgical patients 3.1 times more often than OECD average, report says
She says for every 100,000 Albertans who had medical procedures from 2014 to 2016, statistically, 13.2 later found out that an object was left inside them. That’s above the Canadian average of 9.3 and more than three times the average of other OECD countries.

“Ethics Commissioner launches examination of alleged Morneau conflict over pension bill” (g-m)
“The federal ethics watchdog has launched a formal investigation to determine if Finance Minister Bill Morneau was in violation of the Conflict of Interest Act when he tabled the government’s pension reform bill.”
“Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is also the subject of two continuing probes by Dawson’s office that have gone on for more than 11 months, after he came under fire in January for his 2016 Christmas holiday to the billionaire Aga Khan’s private island in the Bahamas.
Trudeau admitted he took the religious leader’s private helicopter from the Bahamian capital to the island, that he travelled with Liberal MP Seamus O’Regan and party president Anna Gainey, and that he previously visited the island in 2014.
Trudeau says the Aga Khan is a long-time family friend and the 2016 trip was nothing more than a family vacation. The Aga Khan is also the chair of a foundation that has landed more than $300 million in federal aid contracts since 2004.
In response to complaints from Conservative MPs that the more recent trip amounts to an ethics violation, Dawson launched two investigations: one is an “examination” under the Conflict of Interest Act that pertains to cabinet ministers, and the other is an “inquiry” under Parliament’s ethics code that pertains to MPs outside of cabinet.” https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2017/11/10/ethics-watchdog-investigating-federal-finance-minister-bill-morneau-for-conflict-of-interest.html

Yes. She lost.
A wonderful teaching moment is available to all Canadians!
My entire lifetime politicians have trumpeted how fair and transparent Canada is.
That there is not one law for the rich and another for the rest of us.
A perfect opportunity for the self-proclaimed “most transparent government ever” to show us once and for all the real truth.
Have the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister open their Trust Funds to public scrutiny!
Show us they pay their fair share.
Show us the truth.

The battle of Hill 70: A Re-telling
“A tremendous British offensive was planned in Belgium near Passchendaele which was meant to sweep the Germans from the English Channel coast where their bombers and submarines were operating. But they needed to divert German reinforcements away from Passchendaele in order to be successful. The British ordered that a diversionary attack be made against the German-held city of Lens in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France. The formation chosen to make this attack was the Canadian Corps, the recent conquerors of Vimy Ridge, who in the summer of 1917 were for the first time being commanded by a Canadian, Lieutenant-General Sir Arthur Currie.
Currie had orders to attack Lens directly, but knew that it was one of the most fortified positions on the Western Front and would be costly. He argued with his British superiors and received permission to attack something more important: the high ground surrounding Lens. This ground, particularly a feature designated “Hill 70,” was vital to the German defences and Currie knew that the Germans would spare no expense in blood trying to recapture it if the Canadians could take it. Currie would divert enemy troops away from Passchendaele by bleeding them white on the slopes of Hill 70.
The attack began on August 15th 1917, with the Canadians seizing the trenches around Hill 70 in a pre-dawn assault, and the trap was set.” http://www.royalmontrealregiment.com/the-battle-of-hill-70-a-re-telling-2/
So let me get this straight in the Adscam scandal the Liberal government issued contracts to companies that donated funds back to the Liberal Party. Neat trick. Now we have the Liberal government donating funds to the Agha Khan foundation and grants it tax exempt status and the Agha Khan foundation gives our PM a vacation and a donation to the Trudeau foundation. Have I got that right? Looks like the same Ponzi game played on a different table.
Well, can’t say I suffered from stuff left in me. All three occasions, stuff was taken out. Successfully, too. I have the utmost respect for those gentlemen & ladies who tended to this sorry carcass, having the misfortune to end up on that cold slab. One of my surgeries was delayed, specifically because sterilization hadn’t been properly carried out. Relayed to me by the OR nurse, a crusty old bat with a heart of gold, as they wheeled me into a waiting area.
As to the numbers, when ever has the media told the real story without smearing, embellishing or attempting to trash a particular subset of society. In this case Alberta & the medical fraternity. As to stuff left in, who’s responsibility is it to track all the gear used in a surgery? There is one person detailed with that task in the surgical theatre, from what I understand. Were they reprimanded, fired, re-educated, or was it to save money that something like: https://www.gallay.com.au/instrumentrac wasn’t used? Were there more details on the subject to give anyone a sense of what those numbers actually meant? Nope. That would be telling us some real news instead of the drivel presented as news.
Where did these surgical failures happen? One hospital, or all of them, across the province? I’m not defending them. These are just numbers to tell some story, what we’ll never know because the author did such a bad job of “reporting’. Just fill for the 11-o’clock news.
I also happen to know that surviving cancer is better in Alberta, if we want to do the fear porn thingy. Your chances in any other province are less, apparently. Better move here if you get cancer, if you believe anything the media “reports”. I read that in the media, too. Ask me if I believe it. I’ll believe it when Mary friggin’ Dawson indicts Junior & Morneau for anything they ever did while in a position to benefit from their office.
We’ll never get a Duffy, Duffy, Duffy from the media on the LPOC. ADSCAM was an anomaly. Never happen a again.

“Elite Media Scandal Widens: 4 Guardian Staffers Under Investigation for Misconduct”
“This bombshell news adds the progressive Guardian to an ever-growing list of elite media outlets embroiled in a mushrooming sex scandal that has already tagged Mark Halperin of NBC News and ABC News, David Corn of Mother Jones, Leon Wieseltier and Hamilton Fish of the New Republic, Michael Oreskes of NPR and the New York Times, and Matt Taibbi and Jann Wenner of Rolling Stone.
The Guardian’s 4 staffers means that in just a little over a month, 11 members of the elite media have been accused of some sort of misconduct towards female staffers.” http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2017/11/11/elite-media-scandal-widens-4-guardian-staffers-investigation-misconduct/
Mary Dawson, a career civil servant will not find anything wrong. If she did she would have to grow a beard and leave Ottawa on a fast horse pronto.
Not happening. She has had what 3 six month extensions to her contract for what? She is their gal. Everybody back to sleep.
