  1. As predicted our man in Burma Bob Rae is on a fact finding mission. At a modest consulting fee of $2k/day plus expenses Canadians should rightly know that this is money well spent. His boss Chrystia Freeland will keep a mindful eye on the bottom line.
Good on you Bob and Chrystia for looking after our interests will such diligence.

  2. What exactly will the Trudeau government do with or about the “facts” of Raes’s fact finding mission to Burma?

  3. Once again the Liberals under a Trudeau give the shaft and show their hate to the Canadian military. In the late 60s and 70s we knew Trudeau the commie lover hated us.
Elite soldiers involved in Canada’s most dangerous and secretive military operations could now lose a special monthly allowance if they are sick or injured for more than 180 days, CTV News has learned.
Paratroopers, submarine crews, pilots and air crews, rescue technicians and ships’ crews are also among the affected.
Sources tell CTV News the Department of National Defence is now enforcing the policy, and pay is being clawed back with little warning.

  4. There is an article on cbc.ca that attempts to shed light on the Paradise Papers that detail tax evasion by off-shore corporations.
“But some argue that such structures end up costing the government billions in potential tax revenue, money that could be used to support much-needed social programs”.
The problem I have, having visited the Cayman Islands, one such off-shore tax evading jurisdiction, is how do they build their roads, schools and hospitals if they don’t tax the corporations? The locals looked pretty happy (and well off) to me.

“The EU Blows $683 million (£520m) on a carbon capture project – that captured nothing!
From the “models didn’t predict this” and the “Climate Action” department:
An investigation found that Brussels blew the colossal sum of cash on a drive to build underground storage facilities for CO2 emissions – but no such facilities were ever constructed.
This week the architect of the scheme, a former Lib Dem MEP, admitted this was because officials bungled their predictions for the environmental costs facing businesses.
The revelations, uncovered by the website EUobserver, will heap further pressure on EU chiefs who are already facing increased scrutiny over their spending due to Brexit.
Britain’s departure from the bloc is set to blow a £9 billion a year hole in its budget, with a number of member states actively calling for Brussels’ largesse to be be reined in.”

  8. And let us not forget his immediate predecessor, Lester B. Pearson. who brought about the unification of the Canadian Armed Forces and advocated for the concept and creation of now discredited UN peacekeeping. This lisping ninny was, in my view, a joke. Liberals are a pox on our house.

  9. Further to the shooting in Texas and the escalating division of the American Republic, the MSM are fueling this deterioration by going full bore on fake news.
    http://freebeacon.com/uncategorized/msnbc-panel-falsely-claims-heroic-neighbor-didnt-end-texas-shooters-rampage/
There have been countless incidents recorded in America over the past ten years where a “Good Guy with a Gun Stopped a Bad Guy with a Gun” and the Democratic Left cannot allow this to continue hence the “fake” news. How any person can read the ‘news’ spewed by the MSM that is so biased is beyond belief, but this instance is definitely beyond the pale and has definitely jumped the shark. The killer had a past history of violence and was evidently quite prepared to continue his murderous rampage. The fact that he encountered a citizen that was prepared to fight back definitely changed his plans and in so doing lives were saved, to claim otherwise is to deny common sense. Unfortunately, common sense is something that runs pretty shallow in many people in this day and age. Whether the exchange of gunfire and subsequent chase caused the shooters death or suicide is moot, the fact is his plans had been thwarted and therefore lives had been saved. Democrats would have liked nothing better than to have the shooter massacre another congregation and then have a full out police firefight to stoke their agenda that ‘Nobody needs an AR-15″. Stephen Wileford has suddenly thrown that canard to the dogs. As long as the bad guys have access to guns then common sense dictates that good guys better be able to have guns. To indicate and advocate otherwise shows a mentality that is abhorrent to everything that the American Republic stands for. As we have seen time and time again with corrupt politicians, corrupt police, and a corrupt justice system, the average citizen must be armed to maintain a miniscule amount of ‘freedom’. The Lib/Dems are hard wired to control all aspects of our lives and this instance of an armed citizen will be attacked with ferocity. It will be interesting to see the autopsy report and any plans that the shooter had left on his phone and computer, but without a doubt the MSM will double down on their effort to negate the heroic actions of the two citizens that brought closure to the mayhem commited in Texas.

  10. “And let us not forget his immediate predecessor, Lester B. Pearson. who brought about the unification of the Canadian Armed Forces and advocated for the concept and creation of now discredited UN peacekeeping.”
Yes, to unification – one of the greatest Bad Canadian Ideas ever.*
No to peacekeeping. The types of UN peacekeeping operations envisioned by Pearson had very little in common with the self-congratulatory UN publicity stunts the present Canadian government seems so fond of. That old-fashioned peacekeeping ideal started to wither away in the Balkans during the Nineties; the coup de grâce was the Dallaire debacle in Rwanda. So the current Canadian government is effectively engaging in political necrophilia: it is in love with a dead ideal.
Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
    * Integrating common military capabilities: sensible idea. Unifying disparate military capabilities: dumb idea. Incidentally, next year will be a very ignominious anniversary: 50 years since Unification.

  11. Quote from the article “they control people by breeding scarcity, ignorance, human misery, social distrust, the constant threat of social isolation”. Article was just totes wrong! That is not communism/fascism/socialism… that is just Twitter. And what is all that claptrap about “stages” of a communist takeover? No socialist anywhere, at any time, has advocated for anything like a “long march through the institutions”.

    1. Identify a respected institution.
    2. kill it.
    3. gut it.
    4. wear its carcass as a skin suit, while demanding respect.

    David Burge
Scarcity, WHAT BS! The state took over healthcare, and we have wait lists; that is not scarcity, THAT IS EQUALITY!!!
The state took over education, and we have 3 generations of dependable liberal/ndp voters; that is not ignorance, THAT IS EQUALITY!!!

  12. “Yes, to unification – one of the greatest Bad Canadian Ideas ever.”
The US military went to common standards without destroying all the names and traditions. Canada had nothing called an army, navy, or air force – Mobile Command, Maritime Command, and Air Command. Idiots! I, among many others, wrote many letters to Harper encouraging him to end the stupidity and he eventually did. Paul Hellyer, the guy who tore it all apart, is still alive and kicking. Apparently all those anal probes from his friends on UFOs adds to longevity.

  13. “Canada had nothing called an army, navy, or air force – Mobile Command, Maritime Command, and Air Command.”
In fact, “Air Command” was a 1975 invention in the glacial 50-year “rediscovering-the-wheel” process that has led to the establishment of a simulacrum of the former RCN, Canadian Army and RCAF identities. Upon Unification, the two uniquely air-oriented commands were Air Defence Command and Air Transport Command.
The commands created in 1968 were meant to be “mission oriented”.* Thus Mobile Command wasn’t the army per se, it was all army and air components for land operations, just as Maritime Command wasn’t the navy, it was all naval and air components for maritime operations.
    * In general terms, there was nothing particularly wrong with this idea, which presaged the modern “joint command” concept. There was just no good operational reason to egregiously melt down the identities of sailors, soldiers and airmen and recast them all in rifle green uniforms.

I expected very little from the Paris Agreement. It is analogous to the Kyoto Protocol.

However, there could be even more blocked accounts and deleted posts. In answer to questions tabled by Opposition MPs in the House of Commons, several departments said they don’t keep track of how often they block users or delete posts.”
