Stop believing the media.

The story about Trump’s calls to the grieving families of fallen soldiers is such BUNK. I feel dirty just talking about it. Yet it persists.
If you thought a person, any person would do what the media and the scum in the House accuse Trump of doing, you have to stop believing what they say, you’ve abdicated your brain to the blind hate of another.
Here spend four minutes of your time and listen to what Trump said to another widow.

  1. I’m the last person on earth who will stick up for Donald Trump, and yes I can’t wait for the day that he gets defeated. However when I watched the news report, I could tell it was fake news. Shame on the media for lowering themselves to such levels. And shame on cable and satellite providers for allowing such scum on their service.
We should be going after those bastards, and we should also be boycotting the advertisers that keep them alive.

  2. My reaction to what President Trump is reported to have said is coloured by my experience as a young infantry officer in the British Army.
“He knew what he was signing up for but it still hurts” is what we say when one of us gets killed on the job (and it’s a dangerous job to train for, with guns, explosives, heavy machinery, pushing to the limit in harsh conditions, if you never engage a real live enemy, you will still get dead friends and comrades if you are in that line of work for a few years.)
As with everything else, people in the media know just enough about everybody else’s business to prove themselves ignorant and offend the people who do know the subject at hand.

  3. I found this little gem the other day on the Glibertarians site. It’s a former CEO of National Public Radio in the U.S., describing his many epiphanies upon immersing himself in the culture(s) of America’s “deplorables.”
He’s the perfect ad for “don’t listen to the media.”

  4. Why don’t you like Trump, Sask? And dislike him so much that you can’t wait till he’s out of office? I’m curious.
I have a rule that is holding true: I don’t believe one word I read until I hear him say it himself and, as with everybody in life, his actions speak louder than words. Also, I remember he is not a smooth-talking politician and that is why he was elected.

  5. …(and it’s a dangerous job to train for, with guns, explosives, heavy machinery, pushing to the limit in harsh conditions, if you never engage a real live enemy, you will still get dead friends and comrades if you are in that line of work for a few years.)
Always the blather about the ‘danger’ involved in the military…far more are killed every year per 100,00 by category in agriculture, fishing and logging than in the military due to hostile action, and nobody stands up and salutes anything about that.
It’s not even close, the suicide rate in the military is often higher than deaths in combat.

  6. Stop believing???? I stopped watching, listening, or reading them long time ago. When the CBC does the national time signal thing on the radio I don’t believe it.

  7. It has been pretty obvious for a very long time, they don’t ever get anything correct. From the 100% chance Hillary wins in a landslide, to Brexit has no chance, to unreliable power is cheaper than reliable coal/nuclear/nat gas/hydro/… Anyone who still believes anything they have to say, richly deserves what is coming their way. Reality is ignored at your own peril.

  8. It has been pretty obvious for a very long time, they don’t ever get anything correct. From the 100% chance Hillary wins in a landslide…
Yeah, they didn’t even report on her being criminally charged with anything…oh wait, hasn’t happened…Trump said she’s gone through enough.

  9. MY President’s statement is the military equivalent to saying about a mountain climber who plummets to his death … that at least he died doing what he loved. There is no malice or awkwardness in the statement whatsoever. It is a compliment to ones dedication and love for what they did. Could it be MIS interpreted by a woman driving around in cars with a HATE full Congresswoman? Uh … yeah. But the entire gesture, time, and attention, shown by a president who actually took the time (and risk) to call and offer praise and compassion for a grieving widow is CLASS … all the way. The idiot media and HATEfilled leftist Democraps and NEVERTrumpers are simply DYING doing what they love … spew HATE at a conservative President. RIP media.

  10. You know, a lot of criticism has been directed at that vicious madhatter congresswoman, and I understand that the mother is grief stricken, but nothing exonerates her from taking what was a genuine expression of condolences and turning it into a hateful political circus. If she didn’t want to take the call from the President, all she had to do was say so.
But no, scoring political points was (apparently)uppermost in her mind. No free pass from me.
As for criticism of Pres Trump expressed here, well you fall into the same basket.
This has nothing to do with whether or not you like the guy; he was trying to do the decent, civilized, human kindness thing and got kicked in the crotch for doing so.

  11. How do I stay away from profanity when reading Stradivarious’ ignorant comment. He obviously didn’t read TheTooner’s narrative properly. Tooner was talking about the risks of everyday military life, not just combat actions. I have guys I got my wings with lying at the bottom of the Puerto Rico Trench – and that was peacetime. Being tracked by a surface-to-air missile battery in a hostile fire zone tends to focus one’s attention as well (been there). If someone has no idea of military service, then they lack the credibility to comment – take note Stradivarious..

  12. Heh, risk of dying still not nearly as great as logging, farming, or fishing, doesn’t even come close…like Archie Bunker said, “wouldja feel better if they were pushed outa windas?”
There’s nothing special about dying while in the military. And don’t give me the bunk about protecting the country…a standing army with more than 300 million guns in the US alone might have more than a bit to do with protection from invasion. Even their own gov’t is afraid of them or they wouldn’t constantly be trying to pass anti-gun laws…
Absent threat of invasion, military is just one more parasite to feed.

  13. Stradivarious, the is always the threat of invasion. Si vis pacem, para bella. Some of the wisest words ever written.

  14. In stradivarious’s World view there is no need for the Military, Police, Firefighters, Search and Rescue, Ski Patrols, cause you know, there aren’t any real threats to one’s well-being out there. Farmers falling into combines however… (then there’s roofers falling off roofs; no fall harnesses, Long haul truck drivers falling asleep at the wheel after driving for 14 hours straight.)
I’ve kind of lost where he was going with that?

  15. I think the Uranium One fiasco is going to overtake anything the MSM could make up regarding President Trump.
Hopefully just after next September we’re at “Peak Uranium” in anticipation of the next US election.
Though I’d like to see President Trump’s tax reductions be part of the reason for him taking a much greater majority of electoral college votes for his term two. Just like Reagan, in spite of Trump not being like Reagan.
After that, Pense or Cruz, wouldn’t matter to me, the Democrats will have been destroyed. I wish Hillary would “seek within her inner strengths” to find courage to run again against Trump, if she’s not in jail.
    If she’s not in jail.

  16. The point is, arguing over what was, or wasn’t, said about some guy who died in an inconsequential parasite operation in some foreign country, paid for by people who actually work, is really missing the point.
The founding fathers were totally against standing armies and becoming entangled in foreign wars and intrigue. Succeeding events prove that out.

“stradivarious says… The founding fathers were totally
    against standing armies”

per dennis miller… they also started a revolution because
somebody started f@cking with their favourite

… and it wasn’t even coffee.

  18. Black democrat politician cnuts have to be the most obnoxious, moronic and worthless pieces of shyte ever whelped.

  19. Really? Where are the statistics you cite?
You dishonor the armed forces, who make your world safe. You swine.

  20. “…The founding fathers were totally against standing armies and becoming entangled in foreign wars and intrigue. Succeeding events prove that out. …”
That’s true. Succeeding events also proved that despite efforts to avoid becoming entangled in foreign wars and intrigue, foreign wars and intrigue may still try to become entangled in you. The fault for the government’s failure to avoid those entanglements lies much more with the larger electorate than it does with the rank and file soldiery.
I said the soldiery themselves say of such things, “He knew what he signed up for, but it still hurts.” I didn’t say anything about loggers or farmers or anyone else getting killed on the job, whether by accident or because someone deliberately tries to kill them because of their job. But it could be true of them, jobs have risks and most people doing them know the occupational hazards. No doubt it hurts those who know them very much when they lose their lives.
You just seem to have a huge bug up your arse about everything and everybody and can’t say much without slagging someone. If you are trying to be the leading sh*tpump among the regular contributors to this site, don’t give up. There are only one or two you have to overtake.

  21. He needs to be ”consistent.” He changes his words and his mind like he changes shoes. I met a few American hunters at a filling station in Assiniboia, Sk. last week. They agreed with me, totally. They were from Virginia, and Nebraska. We did have a lot of fun with it all!!
I don’t hate Donald Trump any more than I hate Justin Trudeau. They just need to get their act together.

  22. You dishonor the armed forces, who make your world safe.
Heh, when was the last time there was threat of invasion? The military are parasites, nothing more. They don’t even preserve wealth, they consume wealth. Invasion from Niger? Riiight…

  23. Thanks Saak. for the reply. I’m neutral on him because I’m so happy Hillary didn’t win, but like you say, he should be consistent. I keep hoping members of his team are able to keep him on track but maybe their words carry no weight.

  24. Well said @ 1:19. We had a live round mortar practice that was an inch or so away from going real bad. Some years later, I also had a neighbour farmer who drove over his father with a combine wheel and killed him. You do what you need to do knowing some jobs are riskier than others.
    DaninVan and Aviator, well said.

  25. In a society of angels you don’t need police, you don’t need lawyers.
In the real world, you need both because you’re dealing with humans. You also need those who will investigate what went wrong, and those who are willing to stand in the way between the truly evil and the innocent. To me that is the blue line: police up front, army behind. If you don’t accept that there can be evil people then there’s no point in further discussion. If you do accept that there are those who are evil, and that they can convince others to follow them, then you have the rationale for our military. Go ahead and laugh about whether Niger is a threat. How about the resources in northern Canada? Can Canada defend them if Russian decides to be bearish? No. But we do have friends with stronger militaries (if we don’t piss them off too much).
Regardless of how the current government may misuse them, we need a military. Should all else fail, to protect us from big government (by allowing training of those who will later go on to “more productive” life). We don’t do mandatory service. If we did, I would likely have failed out. That doesn’t mean that I don’t respect what those who will put their lives on the line have volunteered for: quite the opposite.
I think a lot less of you for your posts on this topic. That probably means nothing to you, but I ask you to think about why you bother to post. If you mean to convince people of your wisdom in the hopes to converting them to your way of thought, you’re failing. You’ve had no supporters on this thread. If you want to antagonize then that means you likely don’t put a lot of thought into what you post (because trolling means selecting what you think will antagonize for what you’ll say, rather than what you believe), but that belies how consistent you are in your posts and worldview across many posts. I think that you have what you think is a consistent worldview, but that you’re not selling it (for lack of a better word) very well.
When the antifa idiots, or the free pot now idiots, or whatever other brand of idiots are protesting at city hall, I always thank one or more of the front-line police for the unpleasant job of dealing with the idiots so I don’t have to. Part of the rationale for having an army is that the police aren’t trained for violent civil defense. As the police are the front-line for civil insurrection, the army is the final defense. If a nation has anything that is worth maintaining, it will have a military. If there is nothing worth maintaining, then why does the country exist in the first place?
heh. captcha surprises me again with insight: “motel frei”. stay free or not? It seems germane.

  26. I think it is easier to just skip to the next poster whenever you read unme, or stradavarius, … There are a few who fall into the category. Generally, they don’t say anything you haven’t heard, and whatever it is, it don’t wash out if you get it on you.

  27. How about the resources in northern Canada? Can Canada defend them if Russian decides to be bearish? No. But we do have friends with stronger militaries (if we don’t piss them off too much).
Heh, the commie revolution in Russia was financed right from Wall St…not much protection there. But go ahead, look to man to save you…
Jer 17:5  Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

  28. I appreciate your posts. Whether a person is the CEO of Walmart, or POTUS, I don’t think that being inconsistent in public comments is good for the ”Corporation.”
