British Election

Snatching defeat from the jaws of governing.

A SHAKEN Theresa May hinted tonight she may be forced to form a coalition Government after a disastrous night at the polls sent Britain spiralling towards a hung Parliament.

Live results of May's "snap election" gamble at Sky News.

Planned? hmmm. Now BREXIT could be "unattainable". Shucks eh?

4d Seppuku

Needlessly calling a snap election was not a smart thing to do. Currently they need 72 out of 98 seats outstanding to keep their majority.

Reminds me of Jim Prentice's hubris in calling an unnecessary election in Alberta. I thought Theresa May was smarter than that. Unless this was a roundabout way to have another Brexit referendum.

The UK looks like Canada with three Quebecs instead of one. If they tossed Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, they would look a lot more blue.

Good thing they got that Brexit Parliamentary vote out of the way ahead of the mess. It just shows how much the Globalists have their claws into the West's social fabric. I had thought the 20 point lead at the call of the election was media fluff that would evaporate and unfortunately that feeling proved correct. If May's Conservatives can get near 320 the Lib-Dems might give them enough support to continue to form a stable government. UKIP's support went to the Conservatives as they really missed Nigel Farage's leadership. I think May made a mistake staying out of the debates and getting in the trenches - it made her look elitist...and maybe she is which is why she's tasting the backside of her panties tonight.

Possibly the dumbest election in the history of politics.

I admit I have not read much about her lately, not much time for that, but correct me if I'm wrong; she is less popular now that she said we should not be so tolerant with radical islamists.

so British people would rather vote for someone who will let terrorists murder them?...right?

That is what I was thinking.

Canadian Friend, "so British people would rather vote for someone who will let terrorists murder them?...right?" One might think that the people have become so demoralized that they have a death wish.

Tim Hudak says hello.

Yes, dumb arrogant move and she was lousey in front of people to boot!

She will govern with the Ulster folks trouble is they were REMAIN, as were the Scots, who also now, surprisingly, are a chunk of the not-Conservative party.

Hey I wonder if there was any Russian hacking. Nah, probably Brussels.

So Labour finally achieved what they have been trying to do for 50 years. Immigration has made Britain a communist country. This was Labours plan all along. I think if you look at the red places on the map you will find that they are the places where ethnic Britons are a minority.

This was an election where aliens voted for the death of Britain and for its absorption into the UE.

A good run down of the ulster party. The now-revived traditional Con-Unionist alliance is not looking like such a bad thing.

Predictable...CNN is claiming Trump interfered!!

(As seen on social media...I refuse to 'click' on the CNN site.)

Mark Steyn put it succinctly: Theresa May started the campaign as Margaret Thatcher and ended it as Kim Campbell.

Good. I hope that nanny-statist tramp is shaking.

May's natural habitat is the bureaucracy of Whitehall, not the democracy of the hustings.

The Conservatives ought to get out the knives and dispose of her.

And quickly.

The Ulster Unionists who will allow May to continue to govern will actually hold her feet to the Brexit fire by insisting that Northern Ireland go with them. That kind of coalition may be better than a Tory squish majority.

"The Conservatives ought to get out the knives and dispose of her. And quickly."

They might want to get a coalition locked in. If May goes, the Queen might decide the Commies need a chance to govern.

May is one side of the story. Hopeless really.

The other side is a bit more terrifying. The children, all those lovely people with "studies degrees" as well as the unemployed went out and voted Corbyn. Didn't matter to them that he was a terrorist loving radical Marxist bent on destroying England and her economy. They didn't like May, they hate the Tories and they can't stand Brexit, therefore Corbyn.

Whether May goes or stays the children's crusade is going to keep pumping Labour and the Tories really have no counter. Largely because they have, for a couple of elections, failed entirely to address any upside to continued Conservative rule. They seem to take the benefits as self-evident. Looney as Labour is they actually campaigned in this election. Made a case. Which they will do again in the soon to be called next election. Corbyn is not going anywhere and, in his dogmatic way, is going to continue to present a rosy alternative to the business as usual, steady as she goes, Tories. He'll win in the end if they don't actually make the Conservative case.

Final note: May's response to Manchester and London Bridge was entirely lame. For her base I suspect that response was more than enough to drain what little enthusiasm they might have had. They trudged to the polls from a sense of duty. You don't win elections that way.

One thing you can count on in Anglo world. Get ideas above your station and somebody will swing by and give you a wedgie.

Witty comment and so true.

According to the Breitbart article the Ulsters are pro-Brexit.

Britain. A stupid little country. What Canada wants to be when it grows up.

The Conservatives do have a way of blunting the children's crusade: a gargantuan increase in mass immigration. Few things would benefit Britain so much.

Wanna know why Harper got kicked out and the JT marionette got installed look no further than the children. There's a reason why higher learning institutions are becoming more pro-communist SJW militant - it's student driven...the rise of the Mao-lings.

may is a believer.

we can still help GB.

they know the stakes.

Yes, this is the best of all possible worlds. Ulster, a Trump-friendly/Pro-Brexit/Conservative Party now more or less dictate the ongoing policy in the UK especially as it comes to terrorism and immigration.

May is severely damaged and is unlikely to last long. Hello Boris?

@Jay Currie: "The children, all those lovely people with "studies degrees" as well as the unemployed went out and voted Corbyn"
No, not all were children. I have a couple of "friends" around 45 yrs of age from England and Wales who voted for Labour and are very disappointed that he didn't win the election. And they have mid-age friends in the north-east who have are feeling the same pain.
I'm in shock at their response to his loss. I never dreamt they would vote Labour as they're intelligent people.

Socialists are never smarter than that. That is why socialists always keep getting elected by other socialists.
