For a power wash of the soul and a re-calibration to appreciate what is right in the world I recommend a viewing of Amira Willighagen - "Ave Maria" (Gomez). Don't be put off by the start, it was brother and mother and a church celebration with the dad on the church organ.

I've often wondered whether the NDP was really so incompetent that it completely dropped the ball.

Considering its hatred for the oil and gas industry, and the Fort Mac area projects in particular, would it be madness to think that the negligence was deliberate? In other words, was someone (e. g., some of Red Rachel's "advisors") hoping that the fire would destroy everything there and, with the resulting losses, the companies involved would pack up and leave for good?

Remember what Stalin did with the Holodomor.....

If PM Thatcher couldn't prevent a hostile insider takeover, I doubt May can.
If May can, she's better at insider party politics than she is at being PM and needs to go.
By-the-bye, ruling with the aid of Unionis kills any idea that May or her party are conservatives in any meaningful way.
What is the Labour Party if not Unions + Socialists.

She's linking up with the Democrat-Unionists of Northern Ireland, the party created by the late Rev Ian Paisley. They are probably rather more conservative than the Conservative Party.
