  1. Uh, umm, ya know, as a post national something or other, ah , we can do lots of stuff.

  2. “Yes! We will definitely stop industrial-spying on Canada! As soon as:
    1) we deal with North Korea, and
    2) you have nothing left that we want.”
    So magnanimous…

  3. And we should believe them??! #2. for now is probably true, but that could change in the future. They are already into our Oil Sands, so what next?

  4. And IF,and I do mean IF,China should accidentally fail to live up to the agreement, what would be the penalty powerful first-world Canader would impose on the miscreants?
Would our Navy blockade China? Would we drop all trade with China? Refuse to admit them to the NHL or CFL? No more selfies with Justin for Premier Xi?
Or would we issue a letter of protest, sure to have the Chinese government shaking in their boots?
I don’t want to appear critical of our capable government and our beloved PM,but what is the sense of entering into an agreement with a Country that has no intention of honoring it,other than window dressing for the LPC government?
China will gleefully sign, and then do whatever the hell they believe is best for China.
The selfie threat notwithstanding. Captcha: canada gush

  5. is this the same Chirese gubbamint that justine touts as able to turn its economy on a dime?

  6. A “non-news” item.
An unenforceable agreement to be nice to each other between two sovereign states.

  7. I can say from experience that most of the sharp end of industrial espionage is freelance, and that the largest pool of enthusiastic, if somewhat unsubtle talent comes from the academic community.

  8. “…neither country’s government would conduct or knowingly support…” Knowingly, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
    Weasels words, used by weasels.

  9. Canada is a country in the same way a Beaver pelt is a Beaver. They both lack any guts. You can count on the Canadian government to obey and me and the Chinese to have a good laugh at them for doing so.

  10. They wont stop, but, will only do it better.. pm chucklehead is just that!

  11. So, lemme see if I got it…
    – they conducted state-sponsored cyberattacks against our gummint and military…
    – consisting of a Hostile Act at the very least…
but, we talked to them about it, and they say they won’t do it anymore. No apologies, no “we shouldn’t’ve done this in the first place”, just…
    Why am I not reassured?

  12. Now that China more or less owns British Columbia I guess they will just switch to buying companies and harvesting the data that way. I am not worried, when they find out everything about me perhaps they will die laughing.

  13. “Or would we issue a letter of protest, sure to have the Chinese government shaking in their boots?”
A letter of protest is most effective if bold type is used!

  14. Shades of Neville Chamberalin…..but, but, but, they’re such nice guys and, and, and they said they wouldn’t do it again….
Like the Chinese have Canada’s National Interest at heart…?? HOW F’n Dumb are these Liberals Anyway….or, I guess the better question is, how dumb do they think Canadians are..??
FML..why someone has not taken that two bit sack of camel shit out (JT), is simply beyond me…well, I suppose I could wait till he gets into a automated vehicle and have someone hack it….straight off a cliff into the Ottawa river…
