Sources told the Toronto Sun that a woman, wearing an ISIS bandana, allegedly entered Cedarbrae Mall in Scarborough Saturday afternoon and then the Canadian Tire store, where she walked to the paint section.
She allegedly ranted “Allahu Akbar” — God (Allah) is greater — before swinging a golf club at employees — at the same time of bloody terrorist attacks in London, sources said.
The woman was restrained by several employees, after she pulled out a large knife from under her clothing, according to police. The knife was pried from her hand and an employee suffered non-life-threatening injuries, said a police release.
They’ll determine she is mentally ill and not a terrorist.
Her neighbours will say she is a lovely woman, good neighbour, kind to children, and even likes dogs.

A Muslim woman journalist wrote a column a few years ago in the USA on this sort of retail environment situation, she found herself becoming enraged and furiously frustrated when non-Muslims did not part to let her pass and forced her to wait in queues behind them. She honestly felt that she, as a Muslim, should be able to go to the front of the line and be served first. The column got pulled off the internet pretty quickly…
I certainly hope the employees who pitched in to stop her receive considerable press attention and awards of some kind. Stopping anyone with a knife is a bold move.
While running away is clearly what one must do in certain situations, sometimes enough is enough and good people who step in need to be honoured.

Diversity isn’t a value at all of course; it’s merely a demographic statistic. And there’s nothing particularly Canadian about it either. The US is just as diverse as Canada, as are a host of other countries and societies past and present (Austria-Hungary and the Roman Empire come to mind).
Diversity might be a fine thing in some circumstances (a much better range of good restaurants and food with real flavour in it!) but it might create all kinds of problems in others (when various diverse elements clash with each other or the state).
Puttering across Alberta by car last month I was reminded that diversity is by no means new to our country. Onion-domed Ukrainian Orthodox and Catholic churches, Hutterite settlements, Moravian Germans, French Canadians, Irish and Scottish names on farms, Chinese restaurants in the tiniest rural communities and the odd Pakistani family cheerfully running a gas station in the absolute middle of nowhere. We’ve been diverse since Confederation (and even before then, as two groups of history’s losers – French Canadians and American Loyalists – were forced to make some accommodation with each other just to resist being subsumed by the expansionist young republic to our south).
But it is not diversity that makes Canada. It is the willingness of those diverse communities to accept, and abide by, the general laws and customs of our Dominion.
That’s where “Canadian values” come into play.

A friend of mine told me what his sister who lives in France told him very recently.
Her and her boyfriend are so scared that they recently moved out of Paris and now live in the country where there are very little muslims.
When they have to go to Paris or to places such as shopping malls, airports etc they always make sure they know where the exists are and they locate spots where they could hide if there was a terror attack.
They are always afraid another terror attack may come out of nowhere. They live in fear.
She said she thought of voting for Marine lePen but she was afraid if LePen won the election this would make muslims even more angry and there would be even more terror attacks, and thus she and her boyfriend would be even more afraid.
