About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

is there nobody out there - of any race - who will call this out as the patronizing insult it is? Yeah, dumb question.
It is todays level of education in kindercollege.
Instead of rap, why didn't they have him do something musical?
We're all the same.
Today's PhDs are tomorrow's professors. Looking forward to some really enlightening lectures - boom boom, f..k Ni...r, Mother.....r, boom boom .........
Not a fan of rap, but this is basically free-style poetry set to a beat. Yeah for him. I'm sure, like most poetry, it's insipid and juvenile, but most senior thesis are.
So then, upon graduation ... will he Rap to the Judge his clients innocent plea ? Replete with charges of a RACIST, white privileged legal system ? Or do ALL Harvard graduates just go to work for the Federal government where they can spew their HATRED for the US ... and get PAID $$$$$ by the taxpayers for doing so.
Education is expensive
I suspect the "A" were on "special", this week only.
Reminds me of a little school in St Louis where I was completing a BS. For an international business presentation, I spoke to a painstaking Harvard Graphics presentation of a half dozen succinct and sourced slides while a classmate read from a newspaper clipping. We both got A's. I had the Dean on speed dial after that.
This is the result of almost 30 years of treating education as a commodity to be peddled and treating students as "customers". The attitude among post-secondary administrators is that their institutions had better dispense more A's or the "customers" will go to some place that does.
While I was a post-secondary educator, I fought that thinking for more than 10 years. I left all that in 2002 with nothing to show for my efforts. I no longer care.
His Harvard degree will serve him well, as he serves coffee at Starbucks...
