All Asian cultures bigly understand the concept of maintaining "face" / reputation. If China's leaders do NOT take out the Porky Norky and Trump DOES take him out, the ChiComs will lose enormous 'face' in the eyes of all Asians (especially their own) and Trump will gain vast volumes of 'face' throughout that region. Trump knows that, Chinese leaders know that, and Trump knows that Chinese leaders know. So the clock is ticking for Chinese to take out Kim. If they wait too long Trump will do it and then he will use that massive injection of new 'face' / reputation for toughness to confront China on trade negotiations. NO CHINESE LEADER WOULD LONG SURVIVE (politically) SUCH A TURN OF EVENTS.

China loves seeing America, South Korea, and Japan squirm under North Korean threats. When the Chinese are having so much fun, why stop it? If they were bothered by North Korea, they would have ended it years ago.

This could be a head fake to suck the US into another quagmire. The US is the world's biggest altruistic state and if they had to take out the NORK regime, they would then be saddled with "managing" whats left of North Korea. The US hasn't decisively won a war in 70 years and when they did they have never figured out how to end their involvement. A little coordination from China with Russia and her clients and the US could be drawn into multiple fronts to help wear it down while the domestic left and debt finishes it off internally.
