  1. Why do so many Muslims hate dogs.
“… This Muslim hatred for dogs, as even many non-Muslims now know, has its origin in a celebrated hadith from the most authoritative collection, that by Bukhari:
Once Gabriel promised the Prophet (that he would visit him, but Gabriel did not come) and later on he said, ” We, angels, do not enter a house which contains a picture or a dog.” (Sahih Bukhari 4.54.50)
Two hadith from Sahih Muslim vividly convey Muhammad’s murderous hatred of dogs:
Abdullah (b. Umar) (Allah be pleased with them) reported: Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) ordered the killing of dogs and we would send (men) in Medina and its corners and we did not spare any dog that we did not kill, so much so that we killed the dog that accompanied the wet she-camel belonging to the people of the desert. (Sahih Muslim 3811)
Ibn Mughaffal reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) ordered killing of the dogs, and then said: “What about them, i. e. about other dogs?” and then granted concession (to keep) the dog for hunting and the dog for (the security) of the herd, and said: “When the dog licks the utensil, wash it seven times, and rub it with earth the eighth time.” (Sahih Muslim 551)
Dogs are to be killed, according to Muhammad, with the only exception made for those that are used for hunting or to guard a herd of cattle. But why? And why the mysterious coupling of two disparate items deemed haram: “pictures and dogs”?
A little history may help us solve this mystery….

“One person has died in hospital following a highway collision involving at least 30 vehicles near Kingston, Ont. that caused a highly toxic chemical spill, and required dozens to undergo decontamination treatment on Tuesday.
The driver of one of several tractor trailers caught in the pile-up died of his injuries, according to Const. Sandra Barr of the Ontario Provincial Police.”
“One containing live cattle remains at the scene, waiting for another truck to transport the animals, according to Barr.”

  3. Seems it never twigs with so called environmentalists the importance of using rail for transporting all cargo by rail. Rail lines have been torn up and more and more monster trucks are on our roads with nary a whimper from the eco freaks. If they used the rail lines all cargo would be short haul and less likely to endanger motorists on our crazy busy highways. We also have had people killed with tires flying off the monster trucks at high speeds.

  4. Interesting view, Colonialista. I note that they start by misquoting Steyn with the “I’m doing it for my employees” line, not including that Steyn said he wanted all of them to get paid. Nowhere in the write-up do they note this, nor do they note whether the employees were paid or not.
I’ve had some crummy bosses, but people go to any job for the paycheck. To me that was the defining item in this case, and the daily beast avoids the question, telling me that it’s just another hit piece. I did find it laughable that “sworn affidavits” that have nothing to do with a court case could be considered perjury. Can someone more legally knowledgeable explain that for me?

  5. The steyn piece seemed like a bunch of babble. Lots of ‘sources say’ and big important sounding words with a bunch of slurs mixed in, with little substance.

  6. I’m no lawyer, but in B.C. a sworn affidavit carries the same weight as sworn testimony in Court. As a construction contractor,we were required to provide one to the general contractor before final payment. My lawyer said the above as to the legal weight of an affidavit.
In this case,it’s quite safe to swear an affidavit as there is no possible way of proving the veracity of it.
The Daily Beast, source of this scandalous article about Steyn, is no friend of Steyn or conservatives in general,so I’d take their version of events with a load of salt.

  8. Judge in Hawaii overturns Trump’s second attempt at a travel ban.
“But if the new standard for legislation and executive orders is that we don’t look to the text but to the stuff said on television, wouldn’t Obamacare have been a fee rather than a tax, and therefore have been struck down by the Supreme Court?
The judge also backed up the earlier court’s fully asinine claim that states can negate federal immigration policy by complaining that they won’t be able to recruit students or maintain levels of tourism: “the State has preliminarily demonstrated that: (1) its universities will suffer monetary damages and intangible harms; (2) the State’s economy is likely to suffer a loss of revenue due to a decline in tourism.” These give the state standing, supposedly.”
