Thanks for the link gellen. I actually spent the time to listen to all of the speech although I did not listen to the Q&Q part. As I said in a previous thread, the link from the Huffington Post was without context and was(essentially) meaningless spin.
I had never heard Harper speak before. My judgement of him, though based and limited to just this one speech, is that the man is brilliant. In my opinion, he was dead on right in everything he said. Why in the world would Canadians reject his leadership?

Harper is brilliant. “Why in the world would Canadians reject his leadership?” Why indeed? Especially as we have such a weak link to replace him — a guy without ideas and without smarts. It is because of too many petty, self-interested groups who are more concerned about their own agenda than about what is good for the country. I think over time Harper will be seen as a wise and thoughtful leader — one of the best we have had in Canada. In my view, Harper was right about so many things that he was attacked for.
