The left has no use for religion beyond co-opting it for its own political purposes. It cares nothing for Christianity, Islam, Judaism or any other faith.

However, the key difference between the way it treats Christianity and Islam is that ridiculing and berating the former carries no great personal consequences. In contrast, many of the adherents of the latter can be rather more - how should I put it? - robust in dealing with those who slight Islam.

Why, a leftie could easily end up dead. Not a pleasant prospect for a "progressive" devoted to changing the world.

Considering the frequency of these horrors perhaps we should consider that the governments in the west, particularly in Germany and France, are not making mistakes. This may be a desired outcome of their policies. I believe Merkel is not sane. To my knowledge she was born and raised in communist East Germany and she must have been fully indoctrinated.
