The question thus arises is fake fake news true news...?

If yer confused, that was the objective!

Fake news on Facebook cost Hillary the election . That is according to the "real " news .

Another list that 'cautioned' readers included Breitbart.

Stopped reading when i got to the word "Buzzfeed".

I have, happily, NEVER set-up, or visited any Facebook page ever. I guess I missed all the fake news stories ... I really feel left-out ... boo hoo. On the other hand, every news stories I read in The New York Times, and Los Angeles Times was laughably false. Like all the women Trump reportedly groped and/or offended. BTW ... how are all those dozens of lawsuits coming along ? Where is Gloria Allred now ? Have the checks stopped coming from the DNC ? Clinton Foundation ? HER campaign ?

Suddenly the NYT becomes aware of astro-turfing and bots. Didn't the left invent this during the Obama years?

The fake news narrative is just another shot at the "they're stupid" part of nonprogressives are "racist and stupid" narrative. Progressives, academics and journalists are unable to give up on smugness, snobbery and bigotry.

Before they get too carried away with smugness, let's remember how smart academics really are:

"The Postmodernism Generator is a computer program that automatically produces imitations of postmodernist writing. It was written in 1996 by Andrew C. Bulhak of Monash University using the Dada Engine, a system for generating random text from recursive grammars."

And this,

The Sokal Affair- "The hoax sparked a debate about the scholarly merit of humanistic commentary about the physical sciences; the influence of postmodern philosophy on social disciplines in general; academic ethics,"

And this,
Christoph Bartneck - With little knowledge of nuclear physics, he used iOS's auto-complete function to write the paper, choosing randomly from its suggestions after starting each sentence,[24] and submitted it under the name Iris Pear (a reference to Siri and Apple)

...and it'd be even easier to find a similarly embarrassing list of journalists being fooled by fake news. Ask Rolling Stone magazine, to start.

Of course, those interested in the affairs of today, know this.

Those that only read the "news" from the "news" manufacturers, will never know.

That, for ever will remain so.

The half wit CTV US correspondent reported on false news last night. One example was the report that the Democrats paid people to disrupt Republican meetings.

That would be the story everyone reported except, I suspect, CTV. Tom Walters is apparently not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

At what point do the people at The Onion just throw up their hands and close shop for good, because the "real" media has taken over the satire news market?

CNN recently got busted interviewing one of their own cameramen claiming to be a anti-trump / democracy protester. Therefore CNN is a fake news organization.

The REAL, not fake, ELEPHANT in the room is.... which do you trust?

Ouch.

Because it's Buzzfeed.

All it is any good for is recipes and even those might be suspect.

If things like "Internet memes are crushing it right now" is serious news, then God help us all.

I also noticed that ZeroHedge, which I frequent daily, is another "fake news" source. ZH has an intelligent readership and no-holds barred comment section. Anything that can't be supported by evidence from the author gets vicioiusly torn apart. To me, that's real peer reviewed news.

At least in Canada, we have real toilet paper as I suspect the only reason Pravda had any "readers" in the USSR was the widespread toilet paper shortage. What I tell people I know who are still convinced of the veracity of the MSM is to stop reading newspapers entirely, turn off the TV and start thinking for yourself. It does wonders for people as they no longer are bothered by fake "crises" and fake things to get upset about which I hear are a staple on TV news.

It's no wonder that the oligarchs and totlitarins of the world want to control the internet since it means they no longer have a monopoly on information. Google may find itself doing very poorly unless they get off the statist bandwagon - there are other search engines out there and the only reason I use Android phones is because they're Linux based.

“If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you're mis-informed.”

So how are these leftwing righteous gasbags of facebook, twitter and google going to separate the "Fake" from the "real'?.
Given our progressive comrades default to lying at every oppertunity, can they even tell fact from fiction?
Smells like poor wee losers are seeking unfair advantage again.
